  1. I don't think he should be signed under any circumstances if one of Roos, Matthews, Blight, Malthouse are available. But why would the club sign proven coaches when they have one coach that can't beat a top 8 side for the life of him? Oh, because it's Melbourne...
  2. lol not surprised. This club has no idea. It's what 40+ years of losing culture brings with it. inb4flamewarwithoutanyproofofsuccesstoprovemewrong
  3. Not get belted by 58 points against the Eagles, Cats and Blues, as has been the case against top-4 sides.
  4. What is this I don't even...
  5. The Hawks and Hodge, Campbell, Crawford, just to name a few. That's a pretty awesome leadership group right there. We are considerably young I'd say.
  6. That's obvious isn't it? Geelong, Collingwood and Hawthorn, with either WC or Carlton rounding it out. Whoever makes that top 4, I think, will be miles ahead of whoever finishes 5th. I already think WC is ahead of Carlton.
  7. Great snow season. Just sayin'.
  8. Let's put things into perspective. Hawthorn missed the finals 5 years in a row: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 In 2007 they made the finals. 2008 they won a flag. 2002 = 2007 2003 = 2008 2004 = 2009 2005 = 2010 2006 = 2011 Hawthorn finished 9-13 in 2006, a record we seem likely to be similar to. They got their fair share of beltings in 2006, a mere two years before their flag.
  9. Exactly. Who cares how close Scully and Bailey are? If the question is even being raised as to Bailey's coaching ability, we should be looking at other coaches.
  10. *has no structure
  11. Not surprised by the performance. Could smell it after a Darwin game.
  12. I think a 20-point loss.
  13. I like the optimism here, and I'm sure some of you know more about the situation than I do. That said, I am personally confident he will be leaving. I hear about other clubs resigning players, and one that comes to mind now is Rioli at Hawthorn. Rioli said on the radio he was happy to get it done and out of the way so he could focus on footy. But with Scully, he says he wants to push it off until the end of the year so he can focus on footy. I don't understand that. I know that he has to weigh up two option, but they're on the table now. If he was staying at Melbourne, he'd have re-signed now. That's just how I see it. Nothing against him if he leaves. If he goes, that's 2 first round picks, plus extra cap room. 600k for a player of his stature is severely over-paying. Severely.
  14. Currently going through my mid-20s obsession with physics and the universe, so this post has undeniable association with me at this present time.
  15. I think by "anticipate" they mean "we will be prepared", which will probably equate to a slight increase in membership prices to accommodate any possibly Etihad home games. But I doubt we'll have many more there in future. Four games there this year is enough for me. Makes me gag every time we play a game there. Terrible, horrible stadium. I hope the AFL tears it down in 2025 and builds a boutique stadium somewhere, ala. Gold Coast Stadium. Maybe out near Casey.
  16. I think last year's win against the Lions at the G on a Saturday night was a very big win, our biggest for a few years. Coming off 2 wooden spoons. Spotlight game on a Saturday night. Lions rolling with 5-0 start, Fevola and Brown dominating. We destroyed them from the opening bounce. No contest imo.
  17. I might head down there. I will post in here beforehand if I do, maybe a few of us can meet up. Half-time blackjack tables?
  18. I am furious we're playing a home game there to begin with. I actually think WC plays more games there than us this year. Where's the home ground advantage?
  19. I think that now that the offer is on the table, if he doesn't re-sign it's essentially a surety that he is leaving. That's just what I think. There's no reason not to sign now because he knows what is on offer, and signing and considering wouldn't compromise his playing ability. Sorry to hurt anyone here that thinks otherwise. And no, I don't have any sources. It is just my opinion.
  20. I think the media is playing it out. I'd love for him to be at Melbourne, but I don't think the club would ever sign him. It's Melbourne, after all.
  21. And that means people aren't aloud to watch it in a crowd environment with other supporters? The sports bars in the Casino are probably your best bet. The Pub @ Crown gets too rowdy with young idiots for my liking.
  22. if we can afford 600k, then let him walk if he wants. since free agency comes in we have the potential to sign more good young talent.
  23. When a commentator is talking about a player in the plural sense, they aren't talking about the player exclusively, but rather players like him. "...your Scully's, Judd's" is like saying: "...players like Scully, Judd" It's ugly usage, granted, but it makes sense.
  24. Pretty bad, lowest common denominator article. Nothing we didn't already know. Both are just Brad Miller 2.0, drafted by an insipid coaching and drafting team of the Daniher era.
