  1. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-09-17/boyd-buoyed-by-final Zak Jones put in a starring performance in last week's comeback win over Calder Cannons, with 28 disposals, 10 tackles and 10 clearances. The hardened half-back has moved into a midfield role and is also pushing up the draft order after a stellar season. "He's become an elite player at this level," Yeats said. "He's tough, runs straight, competes, and would eat a footy. He's a little bit mad, so we give him very simple instructions about his role and we let him go." Slow down Zak!!!
  2. You're forgetting this years Coleman medallist...
  3. Even if we don't get martin, our pick 2 could be used in a 3 way trade to net us something good???
  4. Don't think it's been mentioned...but maybe putting Jolly on the rookie list may be an option. Keep Jamar, and if he misses a chunk of the season with injury (which has been quite common for him) then you play Jolly as the chop out. This way you're not relying on Spencer and Gawn to carry the ruck division if Jamar can't play the whole season. Jolly's experience and locker room culture would still be a positive even if he doesn't play an afl game for us.
  5. I haven't looked at his age, but Stuart Maxfield moved from Richmind to Sydney at an advanced age and is one of the senior players credited to instilling the bloods culture. Roos is trying to do the same thing with Cross...and why not. He's a durable 30 year old who still has petrol in the tank, a renowned hard trainer and he'll cost us nothing.
  6. It's like a game of paper, Hogan, Scully. Hogan tears paper Paper suffocates Scully Hogan smashes Scully Scully beats nothing.
  7. Maybe the concussion is why he signed a new contract with us?? He didn't realise what he was doing! We should be using this method for any players that we need to retain. Bop them on the head with a stick, and shove a contract under their nose!
  8. Going on what happened yesterday, can you really believe what the media says? For all we know, these guys love the club and don't want to leave.
  9. Instead of stiffy, we should be looking at Porplyzia
  10. With Sellar holding down one of the key defensive posts quite well, and Tom McDonald struggling with the play down back this year, I like the idea of playing Tom as a tall wingman. We all know that he's one of the best runners at the club and was drafted as a forward. With that in mind I'd like to see him be told to start on the wing, anyone that could run with him would most likely be shorter, if that's the case he could push forward late to create a miss-matched marking forward. We also know that he can defend. Pressure on the oppositions kick into their attacking 50 has been an issue for us. Tom also has the runs on the board as a defender, so he'd be handy dropping back in the hole like McEvoy has been this year. A straight swap of Nicholson or Bail would see McDonald on the wing. What are people's thoughts on this?
  11. not to mention that Frawley and McDonald are out.... basically our best spine aren't playing Frawley McDonald Clark Dawes
  12. I'd like to see Nathan Jones and Matt Jones rip the first 6 games apart....then see the headlines in the papers saying "Keeping up with the Jones's"
  13. maybe we picked up Gillies instead of using our PSD pick? Was another team going to sign him?
  14. Does anyone think that if Clint can't make it back from his injury, that maybe Jacob Surjan could be a good replacement? Still only 27, former vice captain, would fill the small defender role allowing Nicholson to play as a mid and would be able to pick him up as a delisted free agent.
  15. Pretty sure similar comments were made of Jones a couple of years ago. Keep for mine.
  16. honestly mate....just give it a rest....or start being a supporter. you choose
  17. So which one is it.....a dropped mark on the lead...or a dropped pack mark?
  18. Just think, Mitch could have been playing tonight if things gone to script last trade week.
  19. I'd be more than happy having Mitch Clark doing the 2nd ruck/chopout. Although for that to happen we need another key marking forward.
  20. Not saying that i want him to come to the dees....but Brett Thornton has decided to part ways from Carlton. Could be another option for our lacking forward targets.
  21. I know Neeld wants us to be more defensive....is this why we have 2 half back lines? Or is it the fact that we can only attack from half back because we lose the clearances?
  22. wow...i'm not sure what world you're living in mate....but i don't give a sh*t who plays for us next year, just as long as we're winning.
