I like the idea of drafting a mini-draft type kid, however if the afl wants to see results from such a pick sooner rather than later, then why not a pick we must trade?

if we were to be given a PP after our first rounder and we decided to draft kids as opposed to trading them, then surely we'd go for midfield grunt and polish. imo it would be one of Aish/Sheed and with the other Dunstan/Crouch. I know the whole mantra of best available, but our midfield is so dire, we really do need to draft for need.

Given that we are looking for a new manager of football, why not give it to Craig?

If only we could go back to 2008 when Jim gave McNamee the flick, and decided to go with Stuart Fox over the bespectacled one.

When our good players are on, he would fall back a bit, but at the moment, along with Nate Jones, he is our best and most consistent performer. Given our midfield is cr@p and the amount of ball into our back-line is like a tidal wave, he has held up really well. Still needs to work on his disposal though.

Not a bad #2 choice to have behind Paul Roos. I believe that Choco would be more passionate as MFC coach than Roos.

I'd only bring Tom Boyd to the club, if we are able to land an extra quality midfielder through free-agency or during the trade period. If not, we simply must draft midfielders.

Jim Stynes will always be remembered as a hero and champion of both the MFC and mankind, but that still does not exclude him from warranted criticism. He was after all........human, and even he made mistakes. Blaspheme i know, but the truth hurts sometimes.

what many don't truly appreciate is that Don is wearing all the punches that are being thrown at the MFC. He's a bit like Joe Frazier in a sense, he takes the hits and just keeps on moving forwards. Hopefully when we are out of the woods (and poor old Don is bloody and bruised) he'll step aside and allow the new president to start their tenure with the MFC on a more positive level.

We need to play the woe is me card (that's how bad we have gotten). You play to his heart. Tell him we need his help (which we clearly do), we have good cash to give him, and remind him how good it would feel (given he's a big Dees fan) if he is there to help the club turn around. That's all we can do. Try to remove logic out of the equation, because if that's what he goes by, we have no chance.

He's got Hogan playing some bloody good football. That's enough to do it for me, lol!

I'd have Roos as my first preference, but i've got just as much chance of winning the lottery (gotta be in it to win it though) - keep pursuing! Matthews - why on earth would he want to waste his retirement years with us? The best we could hope for is him king hitting all of our players at training when their backs are to him. Alistair - Honestly i think we have a better chance of securing Roos, but you never know, lol. Choco Williams - If Roos is gone and Clarko hangs up laughing, he should be the next target.

I thought we should have drafted him last year. I was screaming at the radio when he was still around towards the end of the draft and then wasn't picked up in to rookie draft either. Sure you can go on about how he was a very bad boy, with all his problems, etc. and that we as a club wouldn't be able to set him on the straight and narrow. But i thought then what has only been further enhanced now. When you are a club as bereft of talent as we are, you get it onto your list just about any way you can. We are so shite right now, we are not in a position to pick and choose. He was an absolute talent last year, and is backing up again this year. Would have more talent than our lowest 35 players put together (i [censored] you not). Plus he is exactly what we need. A small forward, who is lightning quick, with unbelievable skills, doesn't mind the rough stuff and can run through the middle. He liked to drink, smoke and stay out late? Well 2 of those 3 and you have a Sylvia, Moloney, McLean (when he was with us). Good luck to him, he deserves his chance.

A swap of Watts for Prestia is one i would seriously entertain. Midfield grunt that can kick the ball a mile. Sounds like Moloney only with a bit more athleticism.

Of the likes of Frawley, Watts, Gawn and Sylvia being talked on this site as possibly wanting to leave, I'd prefer the MFC concentrate on securing Frawley and Gawn before worrying about Watts and Sylvia. Watts has done next to nothing in his career to date, lacks heart and avoids contact/physicality like the plague. Sylvia on the other hand, well he's a FA so the ball is out of our court there, plus the rate we're going, he'd be long retired before we even look like a premiership fancy (come to think of it, Frawley would probably be getting long in the tooth by then as well, but he is a must keep. Decent KPD don't grow on trees, and he is the only one we have on our list that comes close to being one).

that's more to raise his value. Given his lack of games over his career so far, he'd be as cheap as chips to sign up now, his manager knows this. Waiting until the end of the year allows for a greater contract if he is able to put together a good season, fitness and form wise.

What would i like to do, let's see..................... Well the first thing that pops to mind is entering AAMI Park, going to the doors of the MFC within, and defaecating right in front of all and sundry. Disturbing - hell yeah, but I think it only fair since this club has been [censored] on me all these years without so much as an apology.

I remember a few years ago at an AGM where Barrass stood up to thunderous applause, and stated that it is a footy club first and business second. This was pretty much echoed by PJ over the weekend when he stated that you must first get the footy department and on-field performance rectified, the off-field results will follow and not the other way around. So Barrassi would seem to be an obvious replacement than the current one. How damning is that!!!

Where to from here? Only god knows. I am just done with this club in its current version. The Coach and coaching group, the players', the board, the whole [censored] organisation. We can only pray that the AFL will step in and save us, because we clearly can't ourselves. I know we weren't left in the best shape by the end of 2007 and the Gardner board, but it has only gotten worse. Try as hard as he might, Jimmy just simply couldn't turn this train-wreck around and he was so time-consumed with this disgrace of a club, he put off getting a lump on his back checked because the footy club was taking up so much of his time. We all know what transpired, i'm just glad he didn't see all his hard work prove to be for nothing. To all the players', it's just shameful that you have zero [censored] respect for what the club and jumper represents to all us members who bleed red and blue, for all those to have given their all to the club in both an on-field and off-field sense, you disgrace everything good this club has stood for, for over 154 years. To the coaching group and in particular the coach, no you aren't solely responsible for when players' decide to give their all (which should be all the time), but you are responsible for motivating, aspiring and inspiring them to give their all for as long as they can. Unfortunately, you have never obtained the players' full support (which is equally the playing group and coaching group's fault). Your ignorance to make changes to your coaching method when nothing seems to work has been staggering, which is only equaled by your arrogant, naive contempt for this club. The current powers that be have overseen and been responsible for a period that most would call the worst this club has ever seen, in our once great history. I hold all involved with the football club during this time responsible. You are responsible for many long-time supporting and now suffering supporters giving up on their club, as well as failing to inspire many, young and old, from wanting to start supporting it. Many changes are needed, starting with all the highest jobs at the club. The Presidency, CEO, head of FD, Coach, Board. All need to be changed if we have any hope of survival (which at best is 50/50 and only through support from the AFL). I have zero faith with the football club in its current form. In my 20 years of support of this club, i have experienced some amazing high's, yet these are heavily outnumbered by lower low's, all of which have occurred in the last 6.5 years (i wasn't around for the 70's and early 80's, so can't compare). The rate we are going this footy club will not exist for much longer. Get people who truly give a damn about this club in to achieve the seemingly unachievable, and rescue my football club from itself, PLEASE!!!!!

Can't stand her or not, everything she said in the video clip is true. I feel sorry for both Bailey and Neeld, they were/are responsible for attempting to do the almost impossible, in trying to turn the fortunes of the MFC around. Not even the best of coaches would seemingly be able to do that.

The way i see it, we are still in need of another quality KPD to help Frawley, Ruckman to help Gawn and need oodles of good mids. Since the midfield is our most glaring weakness, it must be addressed first. Aside from N. Jones and Viney, we have nothing else for good inside mids. we need to bring n more inside grunt. Dunstan is the one we need to target and pick. If we can upgrade our 2nd round pick or trade a few players to get ourselves back into the first round, another mid is the way to go. We also get hurt on the spread, so we need outside run as well, maybe someone like a Jared Polec from the Lions. But as for the draft, Dunstan is our man at this early stage.

I've been following Polec since he was drafted, and he has been cruelled by injuries and hasn't really been allowed an extended run as a result. The upside with him is huge. I'd be willing to trade Watts for him. Some might think it would be paying overs for Polec, but we need to be realistic. We have plenty of forwards and whilst we still need to find another KPD or two, Watts has shown that he doesn't like the physical side needed to become a good defender. Our midfield needs as much talent as we can cram into it, and Brisbane need to find quite a few talls to replace their aging ones. If we are able to bring in Polec through a trade, and then select a tough insider like Dunstan in the draft, that would give us a midfield with some hope for the future. Viney and Dunstan, along with our workhorse Jones in the thick of it, along with Toumpas, Polec and even a Blease/Kent as the outside class, it makes for a much better reading than what we have at the moment.

Tom McDonald was seriously overrated by some on these boards through-out last year and for the start of 2013. But how old is he now? Turning 21? [censored], given the performance of our midfield, not even Frawley is looking good, in fact none of our KPD's are. Let alone a fella basically in his 2nd year at the club. His form will naturally fluctuate for someone so young. Plus let's not ignore the fact that he was playing on 2 guys (Longer and Luenberger) who were about 10cms and 10kgs bigger than him.
