  1. Yep, no chance of it happening. Although, i'd like the MFC to still look after these boys. Making sure that there is still regular contact between all 3 of Davey, Jurrah and Wona. Both Aussie and Liam have been through difficult times recently, and whilst with Melbourne they were both mentored and had a great relationship with Flash. If the MFC is truly concerned with these boys well-being, which they undoubtedly are, they'll ensure that through the MFC these 3 will always be connected and maintain a strong friendship. Tanking and all that other bs aside, our club continues to ensure that friendship outside of the footy club continues. That's what a footy club is really about, camaraderie.
  2. It's specualtive what may happen to us, re: draft picks, whether this year or future years. Thus casting in doubt which direction we should go come draft time, not knowing if it may be our last decent pick for a while. Do we go with the outside skill and pace we crave, or the crash and bash physicality that Neeld wants and appears the direction in which footy is heading? It's a tough choice, but contested ball is king. The first team to get their hands on the ball, gains the advantage. Sydney showed this over Hawthorn's polish in the GF. We simply must draft Wines. Sure Toumpas is an absolute gem of a player too, i'd have him ahead of Wines currently, plus his scope for improvement is greater, imo. However, going by this article, http://www.heraldsun.com.au/afl/todd-viney-well-aware-of-the-competitive-nature-of-potential-draftee-ollie-wines/story-e6frf9io-1226509826657, Wines wants to play for us! Despite all that's going on around us, he still wants to play for us with his best mate. There is but no other choice than Wines. This one excerpt alone, is the reason why we need him. "One club scout recently said if Wines landed at Melbourne there would be "explosions" in the centre square, adamant the pair were the toughest inside midfielders in the draft pool."
  3. Perfect fit pantaloons, just like a glove.
  4. Jeez, Nicho's got a bloody good rig on him. It's a pity that Riewoldt is coming to the end of his career, as it seems Tom McDonald might be one of the legitimate few who could've run with him in his prime.
  5. anyone think that sponsor may be De La Rue and Hankook? He didn't leave on the best of terms with CS did he.
  6. It has to be personal to her. Why? Because every other tanking article she has written has been titled with only the date, ergo, released at 12.00am. The MFC gave a response today, which so infuriated her, she had to have a say at 10.38pm. She couldn't wait until tomorrow's headlines to give her reply. Personal indeed. Should we get off relatively easily, i'd love for nothing more than for CC and CS to give her a big smile when they next cross paths, to show no hard feelings!
  7. CW is only one person, with one opinion. And try as she might, an opinion that will not be factored in when the AFL makes its judgement. She seems hell-bent on proving otherwise, but alas, it will be to no avail. Our president today reminded those investigating, that trial by media is not acceptable practice when conducting an investigation. CW knows this, and knows that her opinion will have 0 influence on the outcome. Unfortunately, she simply doesn't want to accept it, and it is quite sad really. She talks about the lengths at which we went to when 'tanking'. I'd suggest to her that she is going even further with her journalistic smear campaign. How bad a quality for a football club to be tanking??? Caro needs to wake up and realise that she is of a worse quality than the MFC with this continued vendetta. How hypocritical and ironic. But worry not MFC fans, i'm pretty sure she will get what's coming to her, one way or another. Our legal team will see to that.
  8. If you didn't put a name to him, i could swear you're talking about one Colin Sylvia. Though, Martin has done more to date than what Sylvia did in his first 3 years of footy. Has all the talent in the world, thinks he's better than what he is, could be a champion player, but has attitude problems.
  9. Tell me about it. For starters, the season was done and dusted, so DB told the players that many were going to have their versatility tested, well FMD. This third player, clearly was not part of the leadership group, as he referred to the situation as "them" and "every one of them", so he wouldn't know what was said, just second hand info. A new day, same old crap, hardly conviction worthy. Just unsubstantiated BS. Imagine how quickly a court of law would overturn any punishment, with evidence of this nature.
  10. What about the "big" exclusive Mark Robinson was meant to have in today's paper, anything come of that yet?
  11. I know what you mean, but my "[censored]" was aimed at 'they can throw the book at us next year'. Until such time that the AFL conducts investigations into all team who tanked (funny how all supporters know which teams did yet the heads at AFL don't a have frickin clue) and hands down punishment's to all teams, we should not be punished alone.
  12. [censored]. Any penalty handed out to us, should be mimicked to all other clubs who have also 'tanked'. Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn, St Kilda, Western Bulldogs, West Coast Eagles, all should face the same scrutiny and share the same punishment we get.
  13. I think CW was referring to our 1st and 2nd picks in the draft, not picks 1 & 2. as stated in this new article, our legal team suspects that coercion may have been used to gain confessions. Now that gives us a pretty good legal foot to stand on, if we need to take this matter to court.
  14. Josh Toy just got de-listed. He would be at the top of the list, though it doesn't look all too flash, but he would be miles ahead of anyone else.
  15. I will say however, the silence coming out of our club is deafening. Surely someone would come out and defend the club, surely. I don't care if Don re-iterates that we'll strongly oppose any penalties, something must be said.
  16. Lets not forget Freo dropping half their team against the Hawks in Launceston, lose by 100+ points, only to back up the next week with all their stars back in the line up and beat the Hawks in an EF.
  17. we need O'Rourke's polish, pace and skill, we need Wines' hunger, physicality and intensity. We cannot lose. I'd go with Wines, purely because we wouldn't need to worry about our engine room for another decade with him and Viney lining up together. There's always classy mids, we'll nab one (or 4) in next years draft.
  18. I like, i like a lot. Put a line through CAC's choice, but make sure you put through 2 for Prendergast's choice (in permanent pen, no less).
  19. Hopefully we might land one of Jacobs or Toy in the PSD.
  20. Yep, a Barry Prendergast special. He rated him as the 4th best mid of that draft! Cook gone, Morton gone, Gysberts gone. MN & co are getting rid of a lot of Bailey and Prendergast's work. Our re-build has been an almighty failure. We may well be down the bottom for quite a few more years to come.
  21. Just throwing a cat amongst the pigeons here, but if Adelaide were penalised for the current predicament they are in and as such lost say their 17yo mini draft selection from last year in Brad Crouch (amongst other things) who went back into the 2012 draft, might we take him ahead of say a Toumpas/Wines? I would.
