The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Demon Disciple replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Offer it back to Freo for Hogan. Given the lack of real star kids in this years draft, Hogan's equivalency would be picks 1 & 2. -
HH would be worth closer to 500k than 750k per year. He and his manager did really well for themselves in negotiating that deal!

he is a handball first type player. Similar to a Priddis in that he racks up huge possessions via handball and hurt factor is nowhere near the likes of a Dangerfield (kick first type player).

Greater Western Sydney (a dynasty to rival the Hawks)
Demon Disciple replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
As much of a farce as it is from the AFL, and how much more it will become, GWS really did drive home the advantage of the concessions that they were given. The difference in how they went about it compared to GC shows why the 2 are now so far apart. -

The AFL have definitely created a beast in GWS. The scary thing is, i conservatively measure them at 70% max output, given the general age of their list and improvement left within them. -
the main problem Mayne, is that he is yet to take his mane with him to Maine

New Major Sponsor: Automotive Holdings Group (AHG)
Demon Disciple replied to Demon3's topic in Melbourne Demons
Excellent news -
He will never return to the player he was prior to injury, which is an absolute shame, as he would've become an out and out champion.

Way too inconsistent. We already have Harmes, Kennedy and Kent who all struggle to have an impact on games, we don't need another.

Spencer is not a list-clogger atm. He can't be, purely for the fact that throughout this year, he was the only other pure ruckman on our entire list. He was not preventing/clogging any other ruck the opportunity of playing. Now if we were to bring in a 2nd ruck this off-season, Spencer would become a list-clogger, if his presence was preventing that potential 2nd ruckman from playing games.

I'm hoping he's assuming that the Lions will qualify for a before round 1 priority pick.

Chris Judd's shoulder's were always strapped. Just saying.

Prendergast told Matt Burgen in his re-cap after the draft that we would've. Instead................we were left with Lucas Cook. I remember waiting the couple of minutes after the top 10 selections were announced, praying that GC wouldn't take Lynch. They did. As a result i was hoping that we'd take Darling. What followed was me cursing at the radio for a good 20 seconds. Lucas Cook!!! FMD, i'd laugh if that decision still didn't hurt. I knew right then that Prenderghast had NFI.

Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?
Demon Disciple replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep, the gulf between top 10 picks and the end of the 2nd round is not as great this year, compared to other years. Though i don't really rate this year's draft quality as good as other year's either. Next year is supposed (though they say it just about every year) to be a bumper crop. -
The incentive is that next year's draft is meant to be of much higher quality than this year's one.

I'd be tempted to swap our 2017 1st rounder with GC/GWS for one of their 2016 first round picks, then couple that up with ANB (if needed) for Hartlett. That way we could bring in both Hibberd and Hartlett, both very good kicks (and tough & physical to boot). It looks like we're backing our current crop of young KPD's in, sign up Hoges and our KPF's are set, get a couple of good kicking smalls (Hartlett & Hibberd), then all we need is to bring in another Ruck/Forward and our list would be just about set to have a tilt in a couple of years.

No idea how Selwood got the captaincy over Danger. Not only is it a fait accompli that he'll win the Brownlow & Cats B&F in a canter, of all players' to lead their teams to wins this year, he's done it the most.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Demon Disciple replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep. I love how the Scum are trying to entice O'Meara into the PSD and get him for nothing, yet when the shoe is on the other foot (Hibberd going through Grievance Tribunal), listen to how much they b*itch and moan.
