There's no way Weideman should come in to pick 3 calculations. Not with what's likely to be available at that pick. Pick 7, whilst only 4 picks later (not including academy bids), is a slightly different matter.

I disagree completely. Schwab did so much more damage to this footy club towards the end of his tenure than Scully ever could have. Sure T$ left for money after only 2 years, but our culture was so toxic which Schwab had a huge role in developing. Scully's defection gave us the ability to bring in Hogan. After Schwab got through with running (or is that ruining?) the club, we were in such a bad state that the AFL had to step in and virtually take over. Schwab did to us off-field, what Prendergast did to us on-field. He was just able to get away with it for longer.

I think in Nick Vlastuin's interview with the club, he told our recruiter's in no uncertain terms that he had no interest in playing for a club that had tanked.

Does anyone know how Schache went with his testing? Would be good to compare the 2, although Scache's kicking is well above Weidemans.

beep tests and sprint times mean very little to me. As i recall, Watts had a very impressive 20m sprint time (doesn't show on the footy field).

I'd rather have weideman and Oliver, as opposed to Parish and Curnow.

I don't know which would have me more pleased, a Parish/Curnow double or a Weideman/Oliver double. As a pure forward i'd have Weideman over Curnow, as Weideman is physical and more of a natural FF (allowing Hogan to roam as he pleases as CHF). As a pure mid, i'd have Oliver just about= to Parish. I'd say Parish has better skill, versatility and more runs on the board, but Oliver is a physical beast with a thirst for contact.

If we were to go Weideman with our first pick, assuming Parish is gone by pick 7, i'd be hoping that Oliver was still there. Would rather Oliver over Mathieson, as he appears to be so much more damaging and explosive.

The thing that kept coming out during JT's interview was that we will pick based on best available. Now how the recruiting team interprets that i haven't the slightest. I take it to mean the best player (funny that). If that's the case, i would of thought that Parish will be chosen at 3 with pick 7 coming from the likes of Curnow, Weideman, Francis, possibly even Oliver, but not McKay.

yes the MFC gets 'first rights' should he not get picked up this draft year, and if he elects to nominate for f/s bidding next year.
