  1. The problem with the NRL is that the state of origin series is seen as its 'grand final'. Last years Grand Final was way better than the AFL one though!
  2. Because, Roos has his favourites
  3. It's going to be very interesting to see if anyone is willing to fly the flag in his absence. We may very well go 0-4 in our next 4 games. Who in our team is willing to stand up over the next month?
  4. The moment we have a couple of passengers, we are toast. Obviously our gameplan needs everyone to be playing well in order for us to to have a chance of winning. I worry about our overall defence. We seem too easy to score against, needs to be fixed asap.
  5. It goes against the spirit of the game. Another way of interpreting it is 'bringing the game into disrepute'. The head honchos at AFL House seem to love preventing such actions from taking place, yet they continue to bury their head in the sand over this farcical behaviour.
  6. People are delusional if they think we can break the 40k barrier this year. Only a month to go before membership cut-off and we have been performing relatively well over the course of the season so far. Our losses against the Bombers and Saints prevented any chance of us getting to 40,000 this year. Costly losses, in more ways than one. On a lighter note, if we continue to improve for the rest of the year, we will not only break through the 40k barrier, but give 45,000 a real shake in 2017.
  7. Fantastic news and well deserved. He's a vital part of our forward set-up.
  8. 400k is not overs, in fact, anything under 450k/year on a long-term contract and we would be doing quite well.
  9. would rather see the backs of Garland and Dunn, before i saw McDonald's. He would elevate his game if he became the #2 backman.
  10. I'm sorry, but if a player with the weaknesses of Tom McDonald tried to hold us over a barrel, i know where i'd tell him to go.
  11. Not interested in Daw. He is a better forward than he is a ruckman, but i'd have all our KPF's ahead of him (Hogan, Watts, Weideman, Pedersen & Dawes)
  12. Max will definitely been in for a light week, given the 6 day turn around. Port's rucks aren't a big strength for them, so i'd have Pedersen providing the ruck relief over Spencer, as Pedo provides a lot more around the ground and is way more versatile than Spencer.
  13. Christ, the kid hasn't even played 5 games. He kept Schache goalless, which wasn't a bad effort. Tyson was just as poor today i felt, he didn't register a single stat. Oh wait.......... he was withdrawn due to sickness, but by your logic, that isn't a good enough excuse. At least Oscar can get on the park. FMD
  14. I'd rather keep McDonald and bring in another quality KPD to take the #1 mantle off him, would do him and the team a world of good.
  15. Careful CC, that method of thinking doesn't always support a theory. Mark Blake was a premiership ruckman too at one point.
  16. Agree Bub, bringing in a quality defender to act as the cornerstone of our defence would not only improve our back-line overall, but free up McDonald to utilise his strengths more. Whether that's bringing in a Sam Day, Steven May, Hurley or Marchbank (given time - and a cheaper option too), it should be a high priority come trade time.
  17. They are a confidence team, hopefully the eagles batter them on the scoreboard and physically, demoralizing them for next week. Finals aren't an expectation for me this year. What is though, is that we bring the required intensity to all our games, and beating teams that we should. That would prove we are still developing in an upward trend.
  18. It's on the mfc website. Nice get DD! http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2016-05-19/oliver-signs-contract-extension
  19. Potential delistings/trades for me currently stands at 7 (Dawes, Newton, Garland, JKH, Grimes, M. Jones & Terlich). I would have Dunn here too, but he is still reliable back-up as a KPD, more-so than Garland. Jones & Terlich (unfortunately for them) would be apart of the mandatory 3 delistings, along with Michie. I'd keep/promote White, Wagner and King on the RL. That leaves Grimes, JKH, Garland, Newton & Dawes needing to find new clubs, otherwise they too could be delisted. We obviously won't delist all of them, some may go in trades, some will get the cut, other's will luckily stay on the list.
  20. Referring to this DD? I read it more as a suggestion, not that these were our #1 targets (though they should be - May moreso than Hurley)
