  1. If he grows to love the club that’s great, but Bartlett was exactly what we needed at the time (a breath of fresh air), someone who wasn’t part of the old boys club, who could make tough decisions without the weight of the history of the footy club on his shoulders. PJ was this also. CEO runs the business (would still prefer for it to be Pj but he has announced his retirement), Goody in charge of the players and Mahoney in charge of the FD. President needs to take a backseat and oversee everything in the background. We’d all love PJ to continue on, but he has made it clear that will not be the case. Who else would we want as CEO? Pert is as good as any imo, regardless of how he was appointed.
  2. We’d have to

Yep, the time is now. We are entering our window, time to bring in ready made quality to join our list. The time is now
  4. Totally agree MD516. Anything less than 2 first rounders (especially a high first round pick) and we must simply not do any deal. Like you have said, we gave up 2 first rounders for him, then when he went through all his dreadful times we have stood by him and supported him. The article suggests he is open to a trade if we are, leading me to assume he will only go if we get his market rate in return.
  5. I'd argue that he'd need to be able to play both forward and back. Intercept defender and bomb it in long option to either mark or bring ball to ground.
  6. love the lack of quotes and citing of sources there. FMD, journalism in this country is so amateurish, there is a complete lack of integrity. Would get more accuracy from Chinese whispers than through media outlets nowadays, lol. For the MFCSS sufferers out there, fear not. Hogan cannot sign a contract with Freo due to him having one in place with Melbourne until the end of the 2019 season. He can only sign off on one once we agree to trade him, which would result in the outcome being of great benefit to us, as oppose to being held over a barrel for scraps. Fear not.
  7. Was a true clubman. What was the deal to get him here? Gysberts and a swap of late picks? Big winners there!
  8. BS isn't it mauriesy........ Like saying 'day-time would instead be night-time if there was no sun'. [censored] article by Denham (surprise surprise), aimed at getting as many clicks from the lowest possible denominator. Gutter journalism at its finest.
  9. Petty was given his debut wayyyyyy too soon, so much so that it probably damaged some of his development he gained through the VFL. IMO it was very poor coaching by Goodwin and co to select him when they did. He is only a kid, a KPP at that. They tend to develop a lot slower than mids, so i'd have him play the majority of next year with Casey (maybe have him play in the JLT to further his understanding of just what level he needs to get to). I'd only bring him in to the team again when he is banging the door down at Casey (and not just because he is sticking to his structures well).
  10. Thanks for the great news NTG

We need our accuracy in front of goal to go up not down. Imagine Billings and Petracca in the same forward line. 2.7 between them ?
  12. second most to the filth. They got something like 96 total votes, we got 93. WDFD, they're in a GF and we aren't. Sidebottom is and Mitchell isn't. That's the one that really matters
  13. Max Gawn 6 votes after 10 rounds. Hell, Brodie Grundy only has 4 votes yet sidearse has 13. We all know that the Brownlow is a midfielders award, but tonight with the above votes only further establishes how little a clue these muppets have when it comes to the best players on the ground.
  14. Brownlow votes should be determined by analysts (tv, radio, etc) instead of umpires. These dodgy pricks cant even adjudicate a game fairly/consistently, how can we expect them to award votes fairly. Ablett's 3 votes in round1 is a perfect example of these idiots voting with theirs hearts and not their heads.
  15. If WC win you’d leave the state (good thing they’re on the other side of the country). If the filth win you’d need to leave the country. Win win really, filth lose or i’m going on an unplanned holiday.
  16. Viney leads the game with 11 clearances, next best is 5 for either team. God this kid has heart. make him sole skipper next year, throw in an injury free year along with Lever and Hogan, we can get back here next year
  17. They have been exposed today. No doubt Lever’s return will help. The last 2 weeks the oppositionhave only had 1 good KPF, we still get exposed with 2 decent tall forwards.
  18. Tough, yes, but also it needs to be a considered approach. By all means the point needs to be made that today’s performance is not worthy of a PF for a spot in the GF, but there needs to be constructive learnings come out of this to help us progress further, as opposed to overwhelming the playing group as a result of a day where we were overwhelmed, that would see us go backwards. its a bad end to a positive season, with 2 enjoyable finals wins, but the playing group need to attack pre-season with a hunger for more finals wins. Shows how important top 4 is.
  19. Yep Trac needs to really pull his finger out and fully commit to this coming preseason
  20. Most have been there though Fang. i’m more Pi$$ed at the efforts of Lewis a so called leader.
  21. Good to see we haven’t given up. As demoralising as it would be knowing for the best part of 3 quarters we aren’t GF bound, we need to keep playing until the final siren.
  22. Yep, time for Jordan to give the game away.
  23. It was always going to be a huge ask going over to Perth in a PF and winning. It shows how much work we still need to do. The past few weeks have been hugely positive, 4 full weeks of being on such an emotional high for everyone at the club, just disappointing that our down period has turned out the way it has. The playing group are clearly mentally and emotionally exhausted. Hopefully this loss doesn’t cause too much damage to our psyche and we learn from it. I would like to see at least some response from the boys, in our last 2 quarters for the year
  24. Umpires have had nothing to do with it Jaded. We are playing dumb football, they are playing simple direct football. there is no leadership out there today, Gawn has been unsighted, Smith is simply not good enough for AFL, Tyson is simply horrendous, Lewis has been pathetic, Our forward line seems non-existent, our backline is constantly under pressure and our midfield has simply not turned up. We are getting a brutal lesson on what it takes to get through to a GF. Cannot sit pretty with previous results. It was a thrilling few finals wins, but unless it’s done on the big stage, it all counts for squat. This is not a wake-up call as we have played some great finals football, but hopefully the boys recognise just how much it takes to get to the promise land. Hopefully it won’t be another 18 year’s until we are in another pre-lim.
