  1. I'm underwhelmed by Melksham, but you have to back Roosy. Many times when he was at Sydney I laughed at the players they picked up only to be wrong. If you go back through the list he hasn't missed on too many: 2002 Nick Davis - Pies Craig Bolton - P/S Brisbane 2003 No trades 2004 Darren Jolly - Melbourne 2005 Ted Richards - Essendon 2006 Peter Everitt - Hawks 2007 Marty Mattner - Adelaide Henry Playfair - Geelong 2008 Rhyce Shaw - Pies 2009 Mark Seaby - Eagles Shane Mumford - Geelong Ben McGlynn - Hawks Josh Kennedy - Hawks 2010 No trades MELBOURNE 2013 Daniel Cross - Bulldogs FA Aiden Riley - Crows FA Viv Michie - Freo Dom Tyson - GWS Bernie Vince - Adelaide 2014 Ben Newton - Port FA Jeff Garlett - Carlton Lumumba - Pies Sam Frost - GWS I'll back him, Goodwin and Macca to make this one a positive trade too.
  2. Based on Roosy's comments I'd look in the 24y/o - 100ish game regions. Melksham sits in this area, Hartlett (if you believe the rumours that we were having a crack) sits in this area. Safe starting point IMO
  3. Jetta has requested to go back to WA. I don't think I've heard anywhere that Bennell wants to go back to WA
  4. Cannot wait to see this guy on the field next year. Seeing how much Brayshaw and Hogan and to a lesser extent ANB and Billy Stretch added to the team, I have high hopes for what Christian will bring.
  5. From what I've heard not overly quick. Similar to his old man. I think he'd be a late pick, most likely rookie
  6. Worsfold firming for the Essendon job
  7. My thoughts are a carbon copy of yours Poita. A nice footballer but lacks an advantage that will see him overtaken by others on the list I reckon.
  8. SEN just said that Adelaide may well match the offer to get a better trade result
  9. I know it's only a rating based on a Supercoach/ DreamTeam style points system, but the AFL site has Hamish Hartlett rated as the 36th best player in the league. Melbourne's best is Nathan Jones at a distant No. 95. Bernie is 124.
  10. Big as in tall, or big as in name/expense?
  11. Sadly I've heard similar news, in that we've gone cold too. I was hoping not because I'd love to see him in the red and blue.
  12. Those quick to dismiss him would be well advised to remember a young enigmatic player who had a string of discipline issues in his early days. Was very nearly traded but managed to stayed at the club. Went on to win 3 flags and a Norm Smith. I'm not saying there is no risk, of course there is, but the reward could be huge for a player of that talent.
  13. Strangely I feel positive about this game. I'll get back to you at 6pm Sunday.
  14. Great opportunity to win a game at Etihad. Last round go into the pre-season on a winning note. We have nothing to benefit from a loss and nothing to lose if we win (Draft pick wise). I'd play the best and toughest team available, instruct them to cause some pain to the opposition as opposed to the fans. We should expect this at the very least.
  15. Brayshaw and Harmes to be rested this week.
  16. No I went yesterday, it was as bad as anything I've seen in the past 5 years. I was gutted. Had to remind myself that the 22 players out there are paid good money to play for the team we love and what they've dished up in the past 2 weeks and in patches through the year is just horrible. You look at some of the losses and just shake your head. We are still every bit a bottom 2-3 side.
  17. Carlton - Henderson Out Brisbane - Adcock
  18. "Since this wretched affair began in February 2013" For God's sake Robbo the "wretched affair" began when the Dank was hired and the supplement regime began.
  19. I gather something was said regarding Zaharakis being weak or soft? Is that correct? Would love to see him in the red and blue if he wants out of bomberland
  20. Apparently there are 24 at the club - players and staff who have been crook with a flu/virus in the past week or so. The club's been hard hit.
  21. Can't say anything more. I have little reason to doubt it though.
