What's the story with ANB? Is he injured or is he on the outer. Thought he looked ok last year but unsighted so far.

The most promising thing is that, on skill level alone: Hogan, Brayshaw, Petracca, Trengove, Lumumba should come into the line-up. Newton, ANB, JKH, Stretch behind that. its not all bad.

Could not agree more... There should be a blanket ban on him kicking into the corridor. It's just too risky. The biggest issue will be opposition teams will leave him free at the stoppage in the knowledge that he will turn it over more often than not.

A number of years ago I did a bit of analysis on the "pre-season" ladder in comparison to the ladder, and while obviously it wasn't perfect, from memory it did give a reasonable indication of the results after about a third of the season. I think the other reason for the added push to be up and running early is due to our fixture and the perceived winnable games in the first 2 months of the season. GWS, BOMBERS, NORTH, PIES, TIGES, SAINTS, SUNS, DOGS, LIONS if we start strongly and win 6 or 7 of this first group of 9 it could set us up for a good-great season. If don't hit the ground running and only win 2 or 3 of the first batch. We are in for another long and fruitless season I fear.

Tigers, Freo, North and to a lesser extent Adelaide to drop down the ladder. Essendon to continue to fall - they are potential wooden spooners IMO. Port, Geelong and GWS to improve and hopefully us of course. i think we will improve but I can't see us winning more than 10-11 which doesn't get us in the 8.
