I think Jack should be groomed as a tagger to replace Mckenzie. He isn't skilled enough to be delivering the ball out of the backline but is good at shutting down a player.

I don't know why but McCartin doesn't do much for me, admittedly only from the couple of highlights vids out there. Maybe some of those who have seen him live could give a bit more info for me. Is he quick off the mark? Agility wise how does he move? Does he one grab marks? Is he good below the knees? Goal kicking? Although it sounds like this may not be a strength from the posts above. If we draft him I hope he turns into a star but I just don't see it in the highlights.

For interest I have a mate who is a recruiter for another team and I asked who each of these players played like. Wright - Tippett, although a better kick McCartin - Cloke, although smaller Lever - McFarlin (Freo) When pressed about Lever and a Hodge comparison he said that he does have Hodge similarities, grunt, competitiveness and aggression but his height means he is more a tall defender than mid.

I find this hard to believe...

When you look at it like that, we haven't lost much at all. Frawley was average at best for most of the year and how much did we get out of the other 7 in the past 2 years. One thing we have added with Lumumba, Gartlett and Stretch is speed. Hopefully we can get two stars with 2 & 3 and something special with 23 and we've done OK.

Statistically not much different - Scythe. Personally I agree I think Kennedy is better but when you look from a numbers perspective, they match up evenly. Beams was just traded for 5, 25 and Crisp. Is Kennedy really worth that much more than Beams? Would 2 & 23 do the job? Probably not but 2, 3 and 23 is a lot more. Beams is also 24 so has 2 years extra up his sleeve.

Prefer 3 and Watts for Kennedy. Want to keep 1 of either 2 or 3

The thing that bugs me about it is that a "Premiership" has become the ONLY measure of success. I think this is Martin's point, the pure love and adoration of the fans of a one club player is now no longer a measure of a successful career.
