  1. Geez he looks in ripping shape in that photo. Somebody put a man where a boy used to be. The two things I'm most excited about for 2016 are CP5 and Jack Trengove returning to the MCG.
  2. If Jones and Vince are not A-Graders they aren't far off. I think Viney will be A-Grade next year, his improvement has been consistent for 3 years and I expect him to go another level, he looks so determined. Tyson had a great first year (for the Dees) but stagnated last year due to injury, not sure how high his ceiling is. Brayshaw and Salem are just about the most impressive 1st & 2nd players I've seen at the club in the past 15 years. Nobody can know if Trengove will get back to his best, i'm an optimist with him. I hope he can come back to something near the best he showed in his first couple of years. Vandenberg will be a solid contributor, I think his hardness gets the opposition nervous and gives our guys a lift. Petracca and Oliver are pure potential but the noises out of the club, particularly around Petracca, have me very bullish. Curry & Beer left out a few others that look pretty handy; ANB, Stretch, Bugg and Harmes who at the least appear servicable. If I was to crystal ball it, i'd guess that at least 2 of Viney, Brayshaw, Salem and Petracca will go a level from B+ to A+ (A+ being "Star" of the game) Vince, Jones will remain solid B+ players, age being the issue for them now, Tyson, Vandenberg and Bugg potentially match them at some stage. Question marks remain with Trengove, Oliver, ANB, Stretch and Harmes. The critical things they all bring are competitiveness and hardness. This is something we haven't seen for a number of years. I'm bloody excited to be honest.
  3. Just watching the YouTube highlights of his 44 goals and it made me realize that it wouldn't be a massive surprise or step up for him to double his output. That puts him at 88 goals. its not that many short of 100.
  4. http://neafl.com.au/index.php?id=16&tx_ttnews%5Byear%5D=2015&tx_ttnews%5Bmonth%5D=12&tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=5553&cHash=b1e8d75868d87b186cae6718bbf8c32c Not sure if this link works
  5. 100 goals would be amazing but I just think it's too much to ask at this stage and the way the game is played these days. I'd be pumped if he bagged a couple of 10s. That would be enough for me this year.
  6. We've been gunning for Prestia for 2 years at least. He is out of contract next year. You'd have to have some confidence that the club has got a definitive strategy in place to get him to the club next year.
  7. I see him as about 24th to 27th on the list. Don't think he will make the side bar injuries.
  8. Seems that Sam Weideman will wear number 26 based on the HS article.
  9. Spoke to a mate in recruiting. His opinion: Oliver Wouldn't have made it past 5 Will likely be an exceptional talent (better than Wines) The dees will have an amazing inside midfield in the next few years. Weideman needs time to get his body right. King and to a lesser extent Huwlet - Speculative Wagner, skilled but slow
  10. Spoke to a colleague at work who is good mates with a guy within the coaching/management team at Eastern Ranges and his mate had seen Tom Boyd and Jon Patton come through and thought that Sam Weideman was easily the best talent of the 3 and that once over the injuries would be an absolute gun.
  11. I think he will be an absolute star if he can have some luck with his body.
  12. Can you put a link up I can't find the highlights package.
  13. I thought of Billy and ANB afterwards. It would be interesting to say Jason Taylor if there is anything in it.
  14. Just occurred to me that there is a bit of a trend and I'm not sure if it's a strategy or coincidence. Brayshaw and Petracca I think were good mates from U18s Petracca and Weideman I believe are good mates from Eastern Ranges. So there is a link there. Oliver and Mitch King would have played together at Bushrangers and in the highlights you can see them linking together. Probably just a coincidence but it's interesting.
  15. Tend to agree C&B if it does go Oliver and Weideman you'd have to suggest that there was a leak somewhere, or they've all guessed correctly which is very unlikely. It would be funny now if they were all completely wrong. Would just go to show once and for all that they are all just guessing.
  16. I love Gawny at the end, gave me goosebumps. Geez I'd love to see Trenners get back on the park. That would be a must see game IMO.
  17. My only issue with us selecting Clayton Oliver, is that I'll forever wonder if his parents mucked up filling in the birth registry paperwork and that his name should really be Oliver Clayton.
  18. Anyone know what time the picks actually start to be called out? I see the coverage starts at 6.30pm but I'm guessing there'll be a whole heap of BS before the action starts.
  19. So a club told him to go out and get drunk, take the P's off his car and deliberately drive through a stop sign in the proximity of a police car. Then refuse a breath test. So he slips down the draft order. Sounds pretty realistic. What if he had've hit and killed someone? He has made a few terrible decisions in an instant as a drunk 18 year old. I'm sure we all have. However, you have to question the intelligence/common sense of the guy to put himself in this situation only 4 days out from the biggest day of his life. It is a poor display and on top of his rumored laziness issues it gives me more reason to hope that we steer clear of him. This feels like Colin Sylvia repeating itself.
  20. In reality we will all be happy with whoever is selected at these two picks for at least 2 years. Then the pressure will come if it looks like 1 or both don't live up to expectations. We've seen this with Toumpas, Watts, Sylvia, etc. As it currently stands id be rapt of we came out of this draft with any two of: Weideman, Parish, McKay, Milera, Oliver. I hope for two talls because I see a shortage on our list of top end talent up forward. But I would settle for 1 of each mid and tall. Two mids is not a great result for us IMO. Something about Curnow doesn't sit with me and I hope we don't pick him up.
  21. I stand corrected Dirty Dog I thought I read 12 somewhere.
  22. You say it would be a terrible pick at 3 yet in your prediction you think he could go the next live pick to Essendon at 4. So he is a terrible pick at 3 yet a likely good enough to be picked at 4. If he gets through the session today I'd take him at 3. When fit he looks a sensational prospect. Watch his highlights video, he moves a lot like Pavlich. 12 marks against big bodies in the AIS v Bullants game. He can play. I like Parish too but I think it's simplistic to say Weideman's a terrible pick at 3. How many guns have slipped down the draft because of injuries? Judd, Selwood, Darling, I'm sure there are many more. If we want another competitive dominant key forward he is it. Curnow is not. I don't want to regret this draft, I don't want this to be a Fiora pick over a Pavlich pick.
