He definitely had a super poor game.
-
To be fair, he was actually very complimentary of Frawley as a person and as a player - he just suggested that his lack of match fitness would be the thing to focus upon. Hardly a controversial statement in the circumstances IMO.
-
Despite the infamous head dropping incident a couple of years ago, he absolutely always provides a contest. Our best player yesterday. He regularly marks strongly. Will be on the team sheet next week for sure.

It'd be interesting to know which players other clubs would've selected at pick 4 in that draft. I suspect Port were fortunate in having pick 7 in some ways, as Wines was an absolute no brainer for them. I was happy enough with Toumpas when we drafted him - although, like everyone here, I felt a strong attachment to Wines, essentially because of the Jack Viney best mates factor. Toumpas came in with what appeared to be top tier credentials and was always touted as a high pick. But he simply hasn't looked remotely like the player I had thought we had drafted. Hugely disappointing. To date at least.

He almost looks scared to receive the ball.

Agree.

READY FOR THE KILL - THE HAWTHORN GAME
Ron Burgundy replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
This could be ugly. In short we have too many key outs (Jetta, Kent, Viney, JKH) against a team that is vastly superior to us. Happy to see Matt Jones return though - reckon he will add some speed around the contest and play a role tomorrow.- 322 replies

Anyone still think Frawley is more important to the future of this club than Tom McDonald and Angus Brayshaw?
-
And a decent ruckman.
-
Hope Hogan flattens him next time we play the Swans.

Jones would not be on the outer at the Swans. They just have incredible depth. Would absolutely love to see him in the red and the blue. For many reasons.

Have The Hawks become flat track bullies that wilt under pressure?
Ron Burgundy replied to PaulRB's topic in Melbourne Demons
I spoke to Gubby Allan at a corporate function a few years ago. He confirmed that the majority of clubs had Watts at number one in that draft. Defies belief? Really?!- 122 replies

Jeff Garlett escapes conviction 11.5.15
Ron Burgundy replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
I totally agree. He's been an absolutely fantastic acquisition for us. A complete steal. -
Well, at least Hodge and Lewis won't be taking the field this week.
-
Rory Sloane.
-
We obviously won't get Shiel and Sloane - just one of those two would be good. And possibly achievable. It seems Aish wants to return to Melbourne, so he'd be a great pick up to give us more outside run.
-
I'd like us to focus on Dylan Shiel, Rory Sloane and James Aish. And a decent ruckman.
-
I still rate Watts. He won us the Suns game in the last quarter. That said, his game against Freo was awful and he probably now needs to spend some time at Casey to regain some form/confidence.
-
Dylan Shiel and James Aish thanks.

Mitch Clark out with a foot injury ...
Ron Burgundy replied to jumbo returns's topic in Melbourne Demons
Paul Roos just keeps nailing this stuff. I'm so happy/relieved we got Lumumba (who's a real leader for this club) in return for Clark. -
Watts adds value to this team.

I said the same thing when he was at the Dees, every single year.
