  1. O'Rourke and Dayle Garlett should get it done.
  2. I actually can't believe there's any debate on it.The only way a club like ours, which is in desperate need of more elite midfield talent and which is not a preferred destination for elite players can get someone like Bennell, is through this type of situation. And I back Roos, Goodwin, McCartney and the leadership group (including Jetta, JKH and Gartlett) to straighten him up.
  3. Hope you're right Fork. Prestia and Bennell would be simply game-changing additions to our midfield. And not every player conducts their negotiations through the media, even though a handful seemingly do these days.
  4. I have no doubt that every player on the list (including Watts) knows exactly where they stand with the club. It beggars belief to think otherwise. This whole 'penny drops' stuff is annoying to read. Perhaps he's not cut out for the type of football Roos demands - but I feel confident he knows exactly where he stands and what is expected of him. I think Watts can still be a really good player. Unfortunately that might very well be at a different club.
  5. I reckon he looks permanently stoned. That said, I rate him and hope he stays.
  6. Ironic that we apparently would've picked Melksham with pick 11 in 2009 (which we used on Gysberts) given that Essendon picked Melksham with pick 10. I'll back Simon Goodwin's judgement on this one.
  7. Funny that - because I think at the time everyone thought the Pies got the worst outcome in that deal.
  8. Garland likely to go? Whose decision? Club's or his? Would be very disappointed to see him leave.
  9. I think Bernie is my favourite player. Ever.
  10. On the basis of those photos, it think he'd be more likely to request a trade to some hick football team in Arkansas ...
  11. Absolutely. I reckon, on field, Bennell is exactly the type of elite midfielder Roos was praying to recruit this trade period for next year.
  12. My thoughts exactly. Still feel gutted about Cross not getting another year.
  13. Prestia and Bennell. We would then have a bona fide midfield in 2016.
  14. Could he become our David Hale? Really effective back up ruck for Gawn but principally another tall forward marking option alongside Hogan and Dawes/Pedo/someone else.
  15. Roos has repeatedly stated that we need more class, more elite talent. Bennell absolutely ticks that box. I reckon Roos will be going very hard to get him.
  16. How quickly things can change ...
  17. Has skills. Hard at it. Loves the club. What a great pick. Reckon he'll be a gun.
  18. I'll be very disappointed if Watts is traded. That said, not a great sign that he was 'omitted' for the last game. Howe looks set to leave. Also disappointing.
  19. Cross - absolute bloody legend
  20. Evidenced by the club's decision on Cross, I very much doubt they'll be seeking to renew Toumpas' contract based on emotions.
  21. Think we did okay with Petracca and Brayshaw.
  22. Would've given him another year - even if much of it is spent at Casey. His leadership and influence his still needed and invaluable. Cut the other depth players who don't even get a game in the seniors.
  23. We probably have more chance of landing Dangerfield than Josh Kelly.
  24. Really sad about this. Hope he sticks around.
  25. We also bid pick 2 for Heeney, but the Swans took him with their first round pick. And Salem will be an absolute gun - managed to get Tyson too with that sweet little trade. Very selective and convenient assessment of things.
