Injuries aside, Kent will be an absolute gun for this club. He has the right stuff.
-
Top post.

Need pick 3. The club should buy Howe a single way ticket to Gold Coast right now.
-
In terms of $$$ to Howe or what they'd be prepared to give us in return by way of player/pick?
-
Possibly.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Ron Burgundy replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think this is a really astute trade for us. I'm pleased with it. People here are not placing sufficient regard to the fact that Goodwin and McCartney genuinely know what he's like as a player and a person. They've worked with him. In short, he's not some speccy draft prospect who's been observed by some dude having watched a few hours of TAC Cup football. They also know what this list needs and where the gaps are. And yep, he's not Selwood or Dangerfield, but neither of those players were gettable targets for this club. So that's largely irrelevant. Welcome aboard Jake. -
If 29 is then used to land Melksham, it seems like a no brainer to me.
-
Even more brilliant if we could somehow jag Lennon in the Grimes to Richmond bit.

Melksham, Bugg and Kennedy will all be very good additions too. -

Suspect some other trades will eventuate too. Not necessarily 'big fish', but players that will improve our overall list. Roos has repeatedly stated that we will be very active this trade period. -

Spot on. He will be a good pick up. -
I'm willing to take a large punt on this.
-
We did. Their names are Petracca and Brayshaw.

Howe's manager has behaved like an opportunistic tool, and the MFC have refused to get jerked around by him. Heard this from the relevant people at the MFC. Pleased the club is finally acting with some metal in relation to unreasonable player demands. Shows how far we've come as a club. Disappointing for Howe in some respects that he, or his agent, has inflated views as to his worth.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOMAS BUGG

Tomas Bugg looks to be a handy pick up (if we get him). -

Seems relevant to the Melksham thread. -
We will never get the benefit of a Jeff Gartlett trade again. Won't happen. Jeff was a gift. Ridiculous to call it a trade.
-
I just read the MFC article. I bloody love the bloke. Back into the leadership shortly I hope.
-
Spot on. I'm absolutely happy about Col re-signing. And Cross. And McCartney sticking around. All good developments. The green shoots are there.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY
Ron Burgundy replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Given Port's apparent interest in Toumpas, I suspect that, like virtually every other club in the comp, they would've picked Toumpas over Wines. Some people here seem to forget that Toumpas was universally rated as a top end draft pick with big upside. At the time ... -
Spot on. Hogan's our big fish - in fact he's our great white shark. A long term contract extension announced before the end of the year would be exactly the thing this club needs.
-
Might very well be reading between the lines. Just on the wrong page.

It concerns me slightly that Port are into Toumpas. They identify and nurture midfield talent as well as any club - and they obviously know Toumpas from his playing days in Adelaide. Perhaps he is still going to be the player we hoped he would be when he was drafted - just not with the MFC. -
Who'd have thought Toumpas might end up playing alongside Wines at Port.

Best news of the post season thus far.
