  1. 17 disposals at 82.4% efficiency - 6 marks - 4 clearances - 3 rebound 50's - 3 inside 50's - 11 tackles - 112 Dream Team points. All while chasing one of the best mids currently in the game. To add to this he gave away 5cm in height, 7kg in weight and 146 games in experience. On this game he a least deserves a bit of credit.
  2. Yep Fitzy is another that is improving. The thing with Fitzy is that he is incredibly hard to match up on. I remember when Garlo, Frawley etc. etc. etc. etc... were all spouted as spuds on here early in their careers. Time is what we must afford the younger players before writing them off.
  3. Watch the game from last week again and see how many kicks he butchered. HARDLY ANY! In fact some of his kicks were a high degree of difficulty and pinpoint perfect. Also take into consideration that a tagger is constantly chasing, then running off his player. This constant physical exertion makes it a lot harder to kick with composure. Yes, his disposal has been woeful in the past but he has obviously worked hard on this area of his game and it is starting to show. 17 disposals at 82.4% efficiency - 6 marks - 4 clearances - 3 rebound 50's - 3 inside 50's - 11 tackles - 112 Dream Team points. 4. 171254-jimmy-toumpas.jpg This pic exibits the exact reason why Jimmy cant be compared to Wines right now. Wines was a ready made player (pic taken pre draft) with a full preseason under his belt. Jimmy had a double hip operation, a shortened pre season and is 2 years behind in physical development. Once Jimmy gets rid of the baby fat and strengthens his core I think we will have a gun on our hands. I was in the pick Ollie Wines boat pre draft because I wanted someone to be ready made in our midfield. In hindsight I believe we made the right choice in Jimmy as his skills and execution are streets ahead of Wines. We just have to give him at least a couple more pre seasons to compare.
  5. I'm in the 'we should take the pp if its deemed needed by the afl' boat. Stuff what anyone else thinks. Having said that I think the smarter option would be for the afl to 'muddy the waters' a little by assisting us to land a marquee mid whether it be by a fixed term slight salary cap increase?? Or another alternative option. At least it avoids the stigma that the pp. has attached to it?? Most external parties agree we have had a fair chop at the early draft and what we need is mid career talent and leadership. Win/win??? Edit- iPhone finger
  6. Lol!!! He is 194cm Freak not 192cm!!!!
  7. Dan Nicholson detractors please eat your hats!
  8. The article fills me with some hope for the future. Seems very clear to me that certain players were only going to ever be destructive to the growth of our young talent. Interesting direct insight on last years recruiting too. Rodan's recruitment was explained clearly, and we are crucifying the new recruits only 9 games in when we haven't had a real chance to see what they are made of yet. Pedersen seems to be finding form as a solid backman, Terlich and M Jones have shown they are capable at this level. Byrnes was recruited for the same reasons as Rodan IMO. Gillies....well you can't win them all. Add to that the man mountain Hogan coming in next year (see here - Photo gallery: Thursday training) and Sylvia staying (hopefully) with the chance of a couple of free agents or homesick GC or GWS players coming on board and there is potential for a quick(ish) turnaround.
  9. If Watts 'wants' to leave then we should work hard to make sure we get a suitable trade. Having said that IMO I think Watts is your typical late bloomer. In 2-3 years I see him playing the role Richo played in his last few years at Richmond. (Playing deep, high, left and right forward and running up the ground to provide the support/link up when needed but with better disposal) Edit-typo
  10. And that's if they are playing the hometown rivals. It would be 90% of the stadium if it were against an interstate team.
  11. I think Pedersen has the build and disposal. The short time he has spent in the backline he has shown glimpses that he is more than capable of making CHB his own. He just seems more comfortable down there. No to Fitzy down back. He has shown more than enough to be in the firsts as a forward and can't get a crack. Mind boggling really.... (along with upgrading Magner)
  12. Hmmm.... Daisy's ankle seems to be like $cully's knee. I think he is gone. Daisy and Prestia would be the perfect combo to get to the club. Make it happen!
  13. Maybe Dank is his supplement provider.... Jokes, just joking. He's a legend of the Game!
  14. Bursts at the centre bounce for clearances then straight to half forward. If Tappy can clear the ball into space or even get Jonesy to clear to him he has a booming drop punt that is also pinpoint accurate.
  15. It seems as though a select few just keep posting any s#^t on this thread just to keep it at the top of the page..... Just sayin' is all :-)
  16. Spot on! He was used played as a defensive forward, off half back and as a tagger. Maybe to teach him the defensive skillset? All I know is that he is a great extractor of the footy and as others are saying, it will ease the pressure on Jonesy, Viney etc. just let the pitbull out of the cage!
  17. Why did you have to go and say something like that......
  18. Did they elaborate?
  19. You think we let Scully slip??? I suggest you look back and see why he still gets booed by Melbourne supporters. It's not that he left for the money that people dislike its what transpired 'before' he told Jimmy and the rest of the world that he intends being a one club player. In hindsight if we did let him 'slip' then I would call it a stroke of genius when you look at what we got in return! Stupid thread....
  20. Similar core issues to what Pickles has had to deal with I believe. His body shape reminds me of Gary Ablett Snr in his early days.
  21. Rusty I agree. As I said in my post. Not standing up for him in general. It's certainly is a long bow indeed but I still stand by the point I was making. I think he is gone at years end. Anyway we need his remuneration to lure Prestia to the Dee's :-) although he may not hold out any longer on re-signing with G.C if we don't get this ship on the right track.
  22. What about the Queens Birthday clash a few years ago, I think it was Jack Watts first game. We got flogged and Sylvia got 30+ quality possies. Not standing up for him in general but you can't put him in the same boat as Moloney re disappearing when we need him most.
  23. Bring back swooper Northey in some capacity.
  24. Anyone for lasagne? Yay or neigh?
