  1. Now John Trotter is on the board could it be a sponsorship deal with Deloitte ? Matt Burgan says it's a "major" announcement. Cam Schwab says it's a "cool" announcement. Exciting times for the Dee's !!!
  2. Carlton have their eye on Watson at pick 18. "Just as significantly, he managed to curtail such star opponents as Sam Day (SA), Jack Darling (WA) and Lucas Cook (Vic Country)." http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/105134/default.aspx Matthew Watson: (195cm, 98kg): “We thought he was a back player, but certainly the clubs have been happy with him going forward." http://www.starnewsgroup.com.au/star/hume/271/story/113976.html
  3. Michael Hurley's draft camp results. http://www.smh.com.au/afl/afl-news/picks-of-the-draft--michael-hurley-20091124-j83y.html Matthew Watson did the 20m sprint in 2.98s - Michael Hurley did it in 3.11s Imagine what a leaner, fitter Watson could accomplish. A bit like Jack Watts, he looks like he is going slower than he really is. His kicking is better than Hurley's too !!! I would be happy for us to get a player that is faster, taller, stronger and a better kick than Hurley with pick 12.
  4. Emma Quayle's view on Matthew Watson + some combine results. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/picks-of-the-draft-matthew-watson-20101108-17ki6.html Not as slow as some of us thought... Also had the highest skin folds at the combine, meaning with a good preseason or 2 he'd improve even further. He could fill the big forward void from day one and be a very handy backman to boot. I think he will go earlier than most think.
  5. Good pick up E25 ! Tyler Chalwell is a definite smokey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkIkb1NYNnw Also another smokey in Jimmi Savage.
  6. Rhys Stanley would fit perfectly if he's available.
  7. I think this should be the answer to the O/P. All these highlights from only 9 games, with some time also spent on the pine for being too dangerous One thing I noticed was how well Jurrah and Petterd linked up on numerous occasions, exciting times ahead for us all. Enjoy the ride fellow Demons supporters, our time has come !!!!
  8. #1 - Tom Scully #2 - Jack Trengove #11 - Aaron Black #18 - Callum Bartlett #34 - Max Gawn #50 - Levi Casboult Psd #1 - Joel Mcdonald (Edited from earlier prediction of Mitch Thorpe) Smokies - Andrew Strijk - Matthew Smith - Brad Palipuaminni
  9. Because he did his anterior cruciate and barely played a match in 2009 ? Article in todays Hun has him as a late 1st to early 2nd round selection.
  10. Callum Bartlett - This kid is good !!! Wearing #22
  11. With no pre season, completely foreign surroundings etc. and he kicks 20 goals in 9 games with the worst supply into the forward line in history.... Not to mention he spent a fair bit of time up the ground too..... Not to forget he had a helping hand in a handful of goal assists..... To be comparing him with Cuthbertson is unjust, whom had better supply, played 95%+ in the forward line and was playing in a team who's agenda was to actually win !!! It would be interesting to know what Jurrah's stats would be if he was let off the leash this year ???? Instead of being dragged and pushed up the field due to a ( I must say very fruitful ) agenda. Having said that It's too early too call him a star yet. Maybe a star in the making is more apt. We will have to see how he handles the extra attention from the opposition next year as it is surely coming his way.
  12. And doing a great job of it too. Very informative, keep up the good work.
  13. Please check that, as I neither know or have met "temp account" in my life. I have pm'd you both as I would like to get to the bottom of this. No roll eyes or question marks please. Thank You.
  14. Are you for real....... Fu*#%heads with no real input like you are the reason I don't post that often......... Answer : (a) Never knew of Matthew Smith until I found his Vid on youtube while searching 2009 draft prospects. Also not related & never met. Watch the vid and tell me if I'm wrong.....fool
  15. TAC Cup footage Looks the goods, Great skills on both sides of the body and a ferocious tackler. Thoughts....
  16. Agreed, Green would be great at FF but he is too valuable around the ground to leave at FF. I did read your previous post. Did you read mine properly ? Millers kicking is fine, in 2008 Miller and Wona were the most accurate. REPEAT - Miller was playing to team strategy this year.
  17. Miller has frustrated me many times in the past to say the least...... but in 2008 his kicking accuracy was being praised. He kicked something like 26 goals - 8 behinds and won the goalkicking with the worst delivery into the forward line in the league. Maybe he was helping with the list management strategy this year..... With approx. 40 shots on goal this year, imagine what he could produce with better delivery into the forward line. I'm going to put my neck out and predict Miller (barring injury) will kick 35+ goals next year and play a pivotal role in goal assists. I also think at 194cm and 95kg, he should be played at F/F. He kicks most of his goals when played deep.
  18. That's a brilliant outcome for the Dee's !!! Now, this is going to bite freo fair and square on the arse hopefully. I'm not usually one to spread rumblings from high places but, pick 2 + a sweetener were possibly going to freo for big Sandilands..... With Jamar + sweetener to Port for either Salopek or a 1st rounder. Now after their foxing on Davey I hope we return the favour and pick up Sandilands in the PSD. Keep pick 2 and whatever comes our way for the big Russian. BTW, I really rate the Russian. That means we get Picks 1,2,11, Ports 1st rounder or Salopek, 18,34 and Big Sandilands in the PSD. I may be dreaming but "Payback's a [censored]". C'mon CC you know you can help manufacture this....

    brock mclean

For someone that was playing injured and missed most of the preseason he did quite well. 4th overall for kicks 5th overall for handballs 6th overall for disposals 3rd overall for tackles Next year though, he will have to improve his consistency and contribute a bit more on the scoreboard too.
  20. Quote of the day - Never get into an argument with an idiot. They'll only bring you down to their level. and beat you with experience........ I think it's pretty black and white really
  21. I wouldn't even take Butcher with pick 18. Waaaaaayyyyyy over-rated IMO.......
  22. Best skills by foot in the draft. By a country mile. Followed by Rohan and Trengove. The way he can weight the ball into a tight position is poetry in motion.
  23. They have listed every player available to play in this weeks Elimination Final. What are the other situations that make you and other supporters feel you have been badly treated in the alignment ? If there is a problem take it up with the MFC. It could just be a misunderstanding. A majority of MFC supporters are very positive on the alignment. Hopefully it can then be resolved and everyone will be happy.
  24. gladiator, I await your response to Vanlo & Jaded's posts........ I believe an apology is in order to Dean Bailey and the Melbourne Football Club. Is the 30yr deal not good enough for you ?
