  1. Let's get someone like this bloke in as a fitness coach for starters! http://commandosteve.com/
  2. Yes, that is what I meant. Everything in place by the start of pre season.
  3. This is THE time for our "Line In The Sand" moment. I seriously hope the powers that be at our club make the culmination of events of the last few weeks the turning point at the club. From today we should - * Stand on a united front * Appoint a tough, experienced coach or assistant coach. Malthouse, Lyon or Burns etc * Play hard aggressive, take no prisoners football * Use our compensation picks wisely * Make the environment within the playing group a "You are 110% with us or Fluck off" environment. Be aggressive at the trade table. Be tough in every facet of the club. NO MORE SOFT APPROACH TO ANYTHING - FROM NOW ON THE MFC SHOULD BE A TOUGH, TACTICAL, WELL DRILLED, TAKE NO PRISONERS SPECIAL FORCES UNIT. FROM NOW ON WE ARE AT WAR. In all seriousness this is the perfect time to start planning this approach. From the beginning of pre season all these wheels should be set in motion.
  4. Agreed. I see him as a lead up forward in the Matty Richardson mould. Has the engine for the current game style of pressing up the wing. He will run his opponent into the ground and is surprisingly good overhead. Just needs to stack on a few more kilo's over the summer.
  5. I know peoples opinions are deeply divided on young Cale. He put contract talks on hold until the season was over. What are peoples thoughts on if he will re-sign or move elsewhere? Could he be the GWS fallback option???
  6. And we didn't even tank to get him!! Just ask Vlad himself... B) He couldn't use that against us.
  7. This is a massive point! If he is indeed still negotiating with GWS (smart move considering he will now possibly be their marquee signing). The least he can do is make sure we are adequately compensated. If this is what he is doing then I wish him the best of luck. If not then............ Still we await the decision. He may still sign with the Dee's, although I ran out of breath ages ago.....
  8. Interesting.... What else did young James have to say? How is he progressing?
  9. Relaaaax MNM It's on ch7 in Brisbane at Midnight tonight. Not live but better than nothing I suppose.
  10. We have our big bodied key forward already. With Gawn coming along nicely (see his recent game against Port Melbourne) Jamar is the man. Or more to the point - a Jamar, Gawn, Martin rotation. Before you say 'we can't play all three'....... Bollocks (I'll see you a Brown, Dawes, Cloke and Jolly) We need an ablett like uncompromising tough nut inside player with a laser boot. His name is Dion Prestia and he will be a star! Ok. Fire away....
  11. One of our first round picks for Dion Prestia! Hard as nails with good skills. Ready made! Hasn't lit the world on fire this year but has shown glimpses of what he could be. Also a from a die hard Dee's supporting family. Make it happen!!!
  12. Lol !!! I wonder if Hagdorn is 192cm tall......
  13. Cheers. One can but dream though.... I don't think Ratten will get the boot. So it's Malthouse or Lyon I guess. Who else would be in serious contention I wonder?
  14. I'm not sure of the murmurings and their source, just relaying what i read elsewhere. I do have a question though... What makes you so sure he will be there until he retires ? Do you know him personally?
  15. I did say it would be a coup..... If they can't get any of those three I would prefer Viney to stay on if he wishes to. As a matter of fact I would prefer Viney to Lyon anyway.
  16. Worsfold could be the smokey ???? Would prefer him ahead of Lyon and even Malthouse. There has been murmurings that he was not happy with the treatment he received from the Eagles heirarchy before their monumental rise this year. They would be hard to leave after all the hard work getting them to where they are now though. Not sure when his final year of contract is up???? But what a coup it would be!!!
  17. Would love to see that happen! It would be good to see Tommy Mcnamara get another run too. If memory serves me right he is a South Adelaide boy.
  18. Casey review -Matthew Bate: Matthew spent more time in the midfield this week because of Tom McNamara and Neville Jetta going into the seniors. He ended up with a season high 38 touches, thirteen marks and two goals, plus numerous involvements in our scoring chains. His ability to be clean and agile in tight was eye catching. I reckon Bate is more naturally a mid than a forward. The few times he has played through the middle in the past he has impressed. His ability through the middle will net him more goals than it would as a forward. The only problem for him is if he would get a gig with all the young ones coming through. Based on his performance with Casey on the weekend he deserves a spot this weekend.
  19. WARD JUMPS BULLDOG SHIP TO JOIN GWS
  20. Indeed there was! How many people got shouted down for simply questioning the "Scully leaving the China trip early for family reasons" situation....
  21. Spot on!!! Especially the last paragraph. If the MFC is smeared by the "Scully camp" as a diversion of the previously clouded steps that had taken place, then the MFC and their supporters should defend our great club to the hilt. Much like the Moloney " If you don't support us 100% then......" As much as we would like him to stay we shouldn't be paying overs for him.
  22. Thoroughly enjoyed the '87 run. It's a shame that it's etched in with the most painful game I attended too....
