I really hope we're over these sort of games next year, where we have a crack for 3 qtrs only to get spanked in the last qtr.

Latest murmurings of a crazy time
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Tolstoys Nudge's topic in Melbourne Demons
Daniel Rich is the best kick in the AFL. I would love to see him kicking 55 metre goals every week at the G. Pick 4 would be a massive investment though. -
Farren Ray for our pick 20. Sauce - Mark Robinson in that herald sun chat thing they have on their website.

The Free Agency/Trade/Draft Rumour File
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Much rather Dawes than Pederson. One is a proven quantity premiership player. The other played VFL football for the entire 2012 season. -
I'm one of the rare people who won't mind giving up pick 13 for Dawes. I'm so over pinning our hopes and dreams on first round draft picks I'm sick of our club screwing up first round draft picks Morton, Gysberts and Strauss were first round draft picks who aren't even in our best 22. The club needs to start winning games next year, the club needs to bring in players who will help achieve this. A Clark-Dawes attack, plus a hopefully improved midfield may net us a 9 or 10 win season. Imagine winning every second week! Dawes, while not a star is a gorilla who will need a gun defender on him. Clark is the same. We could really expose some teams with weak defences.

I can't believe the disgraceful attitude towards Dawes, by some around here. Dawes would be in the top 6 players at the club. Only Clark, Jamar, Jones, Sylvia and Frawley are better players than Dawes. And Farren Ray would be top 10. So is Byrnes. Do people forget what a shambles of a club we are onfield? Do people forget that our list is in such a bad state at the moment?

I honestly reckon you wouldn't get much more than a packet of chips/ late 3rd Rd draft pick for him. Who's going to give up a 1st or 2nd Rd draft pick for a talented but injury prone player, with continual off field issues. No point trading him. Besides, you don't trade off your most talented player.

Decent pick up. Kicked 35 goals in 2010, that's a good return for a small forward. 2 time premiership player Will add some pace

Our season hit rock-bottom when we lost to them in Darwin.

This is probably the most accurate thing Mike has said this year. The MFC were an absolute disgrace in 2012. An absolute disgrace. Surely the only way is up.
-
I think Dunn has the potential to finish top 3 in the best and fairest next year.
-
Well deserved if gets another pay cheque. He is one of the rare players at the MFC that can actually kick a Footy.

Who is running for us in the Grand Final sprint?

Why on earth would you want to trade the only decent player on the list.
-
Assuming we don't pick up 1 or 2 quality players next month... 3-5 wins. 16-17th finish. Nothing about this club gives me any hope or confidence after what I saw this year.
-
Lets get him. Would be a good pickup. Would be our second best midfielder behind Jones.
-
I think the sole reason why we've been so bad since 2007 is because we have to wear an away jumper every fourth or fifth week. That must be the reason why we're so bad............. I can't think of any other reason.

Byrnes would automatically be in our top 5 players at the MFC.
-
Stiller would be automatically be in the top dozen players on the MFC list - such is the deplorable state it's in.

In answer to the OP's question: Steve Salopek from Port Adelaide.

Spunds like a Stef Martin to pies for 2nd rd draft pick, on traded for Cam Pederson thread

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SHANNON BYRNES
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Pates's topic in Melbourne Demons
Would be a success if we could get 20 games and 35 goals out of him next year. Apart from Clark and maybe Blease, who would come close to kicking 30 + goals next year.
