  1. Thanks! But please more information!!! Who we playing round 1? I'm tipping Hawthorn. How many interstate? I know we play Port mid year in Darwin. Cheers. And can we trust you as a source? Cam Schwab won't let anything out of the bag
  2. My year 12 muck-up day was wild. The teachers made us pancakes on the BBQ for brekky and then we all went home! I'm not sure what's worse, Fev's Brownlow night allegations or Hannerbery's disgraceful behaviour
  3. If neither Jesse Smith, Luke Ball or Joel McDonald are around in the pre season draft, that makes Bradshaw the only player of quality in the pre-season draft. Surely the Dees pick him up!!! If we go for an 18 year old, we're essentially getting approx the 75th player in a very weak draft. There will be no Liam Jurrah fairy tales again! Melbourne must roll the dice, take a risk, start winning games and get some A grade quality on board, even if it's just for 2 years. People say that only clubs in a premieship window should trade/draft for short term solutions. I'd argue that we need that short term solution to start winning games on a regular basis, climb up the ladder, increase membership and gain back respect so we can attract the luke Balls' of the future. Bailey doesn't want to finish bottom next year. Bradshaw is your answer!
  4. You know you're no good when you can't even get a game for a club that has 22 injuries and is 'list managing'.
  5. Firstly, what's to stop Richmond picking up Ball at pick 19 in the ND?? I realise they now have a youth policy but if they're desperate for Ball (and he nominates for the ND) they should select him at pick 19. Secondly, Luke Ball will stay at St Kilda. The MFC have been [censored] out of luck since 1965 so I expect the trend to continue.
  6. ^^ But who is going to play the role as tagger/run with role? Bartram is one of our rare options to play a run with role. For example, I was watching the opening game V's North and he kept Harvey very quiet. We need players who can contain the opposition game winners. Dunn has done this in the past. Jones had a crack on Ablett in round 16 but we need him to win the footy now that McLean is gone. I'm not advocating keeping Bartram (as I think he has serious disposal issues) but I think he fills a need more than McNamara does at the moment.
  7. I'd give McNamara the flick before Bartram. I'm still holding out hope that Bartram can return to his 2006 form. Plus we need a run-with player who has some pace. I can understand though if we do get rid of Bartram because his disposal is barely AFL standard. So for me it's out of McNamara or Cheney. A pity considering we still have a few list cloggers hanging around.
  8. Was influential in those 2 classic wins over Freo and Brisbane in 2008. Who remembers that classic run down the wing in the last 10 seconds of the Brisbane game to seal the win? Also kicked 3 goals on 3 different occasions. But I remember him running out of gas over the last 7 or 8 rounds, and people on demonland were starting to rip into him a bit. Can't wait to see him back in 2010! Any substance to the idea that they didn't bother rushing Aussie back in the last 6 weeks to ensure we"list managed" ??
  9. He's safe for 2 more seasons I know he had a decent second half of 2009 but I was under the impression he was playing for his career in 2010.
  10. Now I can identify the fact as to why I wanted Jones to have the better career
  11. We actually won that game by 25pts. http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/games/1...1619950603.html
  12. 1) Davey 2) Moloney 3) Frawley 4) Warnock 5) Sylvia
  13. I'm hoping at least one of Joel McDonald, Jesse Smith and Luke Ball are in the PSD. Will be doing cart-wheels if we pick up one of those lads.
  14. I'd take one of Ball, Joel McDonald or Jesse Smith - whoever is available in the PSD. All capable players, and would actually make it worthwhile having the first pick in the PSD.
  15. Be interested if the following injured players will be training: Bruce Green Warnock Meeson Garland (I think he's in moon boot so no) Woneamirri Grimes Strauss Blease Maric
  16. Jurrah is an obvious one. Please explain was Martin was an exceptional pick? Exceptional is such a strong word?
  17. I think McMuffin is contracted for next year.
  18. I'm willing to bet my left leg that we won't make a trade today!
  19. Agree mate. I want us to select a half decent player in the PSD with AFL experience over an 18 year old that's been over looked in a crap national draft. (Jurrah was tattslotto and we shouldn't assume that will happen again) Would be great to have an established player that wants to play for Melbourne. I hope that player is Luke Ball.
  20. I hope Jack Watts in 3 years. Currently Sylvia and Davey.
  21. What's that old phrase - if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I am scarred by that Adelaide twilight game when he missed goals from 10 mtrs out.
  22. I actually think the trade period should be based on the Major League Baseball model, whereby trades can be made up until two months before the playoffs. The trade period could open in early October and run through till round 15 of the next season. This would allow capable players like Matt Maguire to transfer to a club that would have actually given him a regular game in exchange for a player or a future draft pick. It would also allow clubs in a premiership window to trade for players from teams that are out of contention. In MLB it is quite common for a lowly club to trade away their ace for 3 prospects - win/win for both parties.
  23. Port having picks 8 and 9 may help us, as they'll likely go for 2 mids or 1 mid and a KPP. Therefore one more KPP may be available for us come pick 11. We need clubs between picks 3 and 10 to take as many mids as possible in order to give us more KPP options at pick 11.
  24. The last time clubs invested in a bunch of list cloggers were Carlton in 2004 and St Kilda in 2001 and look how good that turned out for both parties Raines, Staker, Buchanan and X Clarke are all list cloggers.
  25. Similar probablity to melbourne winning a flag next year. Burgoyne is a match winner who can kick 5 goals from the midfield. Him hands down.
