  1. So you'd rather a win this week at the expense of a probable 200 game champion for the club?
  2. Good. He derserves a club imposed suspension in addition to the AFL suspension. What he did (V's WC) was just so Sylvia. The kid still hasn't grown up yet. When will the penny drop?
  3. We may be forced to delist him thanks to list-cloggers like Bell and PJ who are safe for next year. Perhaps we can rookie list him.
  4. Has to be North hands down. We've been their [censored] for years, and we need to learn how to win at Etihad if we're going to rise up the ladder. Freo would be the least exciting and satisfying win.
  5. Frawley out now. Oh my god it's now past obvious that we're tanking If we win, Sydney have been lectured by Carlton on how to master the tank.
  6. Fair enough. There's not much you can do about it when you're competing with the big boys.
  7. Prismall would've played the 2008 GF for a team that has depth the length of the Flemington Straight. He's been fantastic in his 6 games back from a knee reco. You're selling him way too short by calling him just 'capable'. I'm countering the OP's assertion that we would've made a mistake by trading for Prismall. He would've been worth the bucks and the high draft pick.
  8. Cameron Bruce just to [censored] off YM. As for the poll, I voted Moloney who deserves it the most.
  9. This is the one I disagree with. We should've gone harder for Prismall. This guy is A-Grade material who is ready to kick on with the Bombers in a big way. He is exactly the midfielder that we've been crying out for. Essendon offered a pick in the 30's for him. I would've traded pick 19 for Prismall - a likely 8-10 year player that was a proven quantity at Geelong.
  10. I'd be stunned if he plays at all this year. He's been listed as 3-4 weeks since May. Why can't the club just declare him out for the season? It's getting a little silly now.
  11. Would we all be complaining about Kelli Underwood had we won on the weekend? I doubt it.
  12. Good on Bennell for featuring in the votes against a top shelf team!
  13. Brock was fantastic in 2006. So many games he was influential in the midfield and was able to kick a couple a game. Then in round 1 2007 after a solid opening qtr he did his ankle. I have no doubt injuries have curtailed his career at the moment. Needs to play well against good teams, not just against crap interstate teams at the G.
  14. Kicked 3 goals today if I'm not mistaken. That's 5 goals at Skilled Stadium in 2 matches. Go Morts!
  15. Feel free to delete my votes. The thread was empty after an hour and I wanted to kick it off.
  16. It's been an hour after the game and still no votes. 6) Moloney 5) Green 4) Grimes 3) Bartram 2) Morton 1) Bate Final answer!
  17. Brent Moloney bleeds for the club. Is that enough to get him over the line? Brock would be the other obvious choice for the long term. Green if we want a short-term captain. Grimes is too young, but would be a chance if he were 21 or 22.
  18. Great ruckman was our Geoff! 1) Tingay 2) Viney 3) G Lovett (sadly played 2 games from 1998 - 1999) Special mention to Stephen Powell. Was sensational for us in 2000 and 2002. Was a high possession getter, tough, generally used the pill well and most importantly was a goal kicking midfielder. Who could forget his 2000 finals series - 4 goals V's North and then 3 goals V's Essendon in the Gf.
  19. Are you saying Bartram isn't in the class of G Ablett and Co
  20. All this talk of tanking and resting McLean, Moloney, Jurrah etc while putting Zomer on the ball and Valenti at full fwd should be put to bed. We can still mathematically make the 8! This the ladder predictor I came up with and I have us playing Essendon in week 1 of the finals - if all goes to plan Predicted Ladder # Team Pl W L D PF PA Perc Pts 1 St Kilda 22 21 1 0 2375 1583 150.03 84 2 Geelong 22 19 3 0 2463 1787 137.83 76 3 Collingwood 22 17 5 0 2306 1900 121.37 68 4 W Bulldogs 22 14 8 0 2458 1973 124.58 56 5 Adelaide 22 14 8 0 2049 1907 107.45 56 6 Essendon 22 10 12 0 2111 2133 98.97 40 7 Melbourne 22 10 12 0 1864 2125 87.72 40 8 Carlton 22 9 13 0 2173 2165 100.37 36 9 Bris Lions 22 9 13 0 2046 2074 98.65 36 10 Port Adel 22 9 13 0 2058 2222 92.62 36 11 Hawthorn 22 9 13 0 1921 2174 88.36 36 12 West Coast 22 8 14 0 1926 2140 90.00 32 13 Sydney 22 7 15 0 1895 2176 87.09 28 14 Nth Melb 22 7 15 0 1757 2129 82.53 28 15 Fremantle 22 7 15 0 1794 2318 77.39 28 16 Richmond 22 6 16 0 1877 2267 82.80 24 http://afl.allthestats.com/misc/ladderpredict.php
  21. You forgot Nick Pesch, Ross Funcke, David Grant (yes he was great mature aged recruit from St Kilda) , Alistair Clarkson and Fabian Francis
  22. 2 home games interstate max please. If we can reap $400,000 each match, then that will be great. But I'd hate to do a Hawthorn and end up playing 8 or 9 interstate games a year.
  23. Why the fark would've Port waved the white flag? They were playing for finals today. Technically this was our best win for the year - even though Scully is in danger.
