NAB CHALLENGE: GOLD COAST SUNS v MELBOURNE

Terrific, we're now getting spanked by Gold Coast. -

Everyone still rapt to see the back of Moloney? -
Lets invite him for pre season training next year!
-
Can anyone see a bit of Pendlebury in him?
-
Wouldn't be the worst option in the world. Gets a fair bit of it, but disposal lets him down.
-
Thought Matt Jones showed a little on the weekend. Certainly knows how to get it, which is probably the starting point on being a good midfielder. Has a bit of pace and moves ok. I know I'm clutching at straws with our poor midfield, but you never know with this bloke. Wouldn't surprise if he plays 16+ games in the midfield.

Rounds 13 to 18 = Crunch Time for Neeld
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
RR, on what basis do you expect an emphatic win against Port in rd 1? Port have been bloody impressive this pre season. Knocked off West coast and St Kilda. Have a bunch of very classy midfielders in Boak, Hartlett and Ebert and a gun full forward in Schultz. We on the other hand put on second qtr display against the Aints that had a very slight whiff of 186. I wish I shared your confidence, but expect that Port will be too dominant, classy and professional for us in rd 1. Gee I hope I'm wrong. -

Very underrated around here. His kicking skills are elite compared to most of his colleagues. Has been our best player in the NAB Cup. -
Knowing our luck, Wines will be the greatest player of all time. Meanwhile, we'll be forever bemoaning Viney's disposal, Toumpas ends up being a poor mans Cale Morton, and Hogan becomes a 4 time All Australian centre half forward....... For Fremantle.
-
Put him on the wing. Our disposal into inside 50 is vfl 2's standard. The bloke has a beautiful shoe, and his defensive weaknesses won't be as exposed on the wing.

Two very talented players who are capable of a speccy and 55 meter goal. But both fade in and out of games and barely ever get in our best, and are low possession getters. These 2 boys could seriously help us rise up the ladder with their potential 'a' grade talent, but just can't put it together for 4 quarters. What are their best positions? Can they take their game to a higher level, or is this as good as it gets? Two players who could give a lot more IMO

At this rate it will actually be Dawes (mystery injury of the month) missing round 1 and not Clark Wouldn't surprise me if they rushed Trengove in for round 1. -
Geez Dawes has had a shocking pre-season.
-
Surely we have a practice match next weekend, otherwise we'll have 2 weeks off. Last year we played port at Aami, the week of the nab cup grand final.
-
Neeld reckons Clark is a chance for round 1, provided he has no set backs.
-
Would Cheney help us rise up the ladder? I wouldn't of thought so.
-
Better late than never. I think Dunn is one of about 3 Melbourne players that can actually kick a football.
-
I read earlier that we're taking a young team over, so won't be too concerned about the result. Unlike last year, when we took a full strength side to play Port in the final pre-season game, and duly got flogged by 8 goals.

Sam Blease Out for 4 to 6 Weeks

Davey wouldn't mind this news. 1 less small fwd to compete with for a spot in rd 1. -
Sam Blease Out for 4 to 6 Weeks
Bring-Back-Powell replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Reports on the weekend were of a sprained ankle. How many weeks are they? -
I'm no fan of Mckenzie but he has to do a job on Boak or Hartlett. Ports midfield is way better than ours and that's why I predict port will knock us off. Based on the weekend, I wouldn't bother with Pederson. Sellar to take that role. I hope I'm wrong and pederson shows more in the remaining games.

Dawes will miss next week with a thigh injury.

EXPERIMENTATION by Whispering Jack
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Match Reports
Sorry to temper the positives about the north game, but according to the experts on bigfooty (north forum), the Roos should've won by 30 plus pts, and that Melbourne's fight back was due to north easing up.- 23 replies

Is it just me or has Sylvia escaped a bit of criticism here?
