  1. Any news on the clash jumper? Any amendments? I actually quite like our clash jumper of 2011-2013, best we've had so far. More than happy to wear it next year against St Kilda, Carlton, Adelaide, Essendon, Bulldogs, Port and West Coast.
  2. Three players I'm eager to see in 2014: Pederson - To see if he can live up to that 2:36 youtube clip from 2011 Nicholson - To see if he can eliminate those Divison 4 Suburban league clangers Bail - See Nicholson
  3. People need a reality check. We will not play finals. We will not get close to 9th or 10th. We were a 2-20 team and were one of the worst performed sides in history. Yes we will improve but to magically expect us to win 10 or more games is nonsense. I get the feeling those optimistic fans went overseas last year and/or didn't attend a game all of 2013.
  4. Agreed. I knew we were cooked for 2013 when we got spanked by Gold Coast in the final NAB cup game in Southport.
  5. Good pick up, I think it is Vince. He wouldn't be too far from a celebration.
  6. And they are the only Saturday night games for the round which means that all attention will be on Melbourne. THought I'd mention the positives of the fixture among all the doom and gloom.
  7. Anyone notice our 3 Saturday night games in Melbourne (v st Kilda, Sydney and bulldogs) are stand alone games on channel 7 which means excellent national exposure. Sure we've got no Friday night games but we haven't totally gone without in national exposure. The round 6 sat night game v Sydney has the potential to drag in 35-40 k with the Roos - Sydney factor and if we've already won a couple.
  8. Like to know your thoughts on Bail for 2014. One of the least talked about players on the list. Would probably have been delisted had he been off contract. Can anyone see him forcing his way into our best 22? What's his best position? What are his strengths? I among others rated him and 2010 and 2011 and was disappointed injuries curtailed him. However he had a full season in 2012 and his skill errors became glaring and his goal kicking was erratic. 2013 was injury and form riddled. Thoughts on Bail going forward?
  9. I actually thought he was back to his best in the final 5 weeks. Kept Ablett to an amazing 19 ish Kept Dangerfield quiet Kept Griffen to 17 I don't like putting him in our best 22 but every side needs a Crowley
  10. Just read this thread and summarise as follows: 1) Cambell Brown is a better player than Nicholson 2) Brown kicked 3 goals against us in both games in 2013. Was too good for our defence. 3) wouldn't touch him with a 40 foot pole in terms of having him on our list.
  11. This is the Melbourne footy club we're talking about. A 1 win season with a better percentage than last year is not out of the question. However given your points above, we surely will improve our win - loss.
  12. He might have to meditate a bit more next year given that he's the coach of the circus known as the Melbourne footy club.
  13. This has to be in the top 10 worst threads of all time. Well done sir.
  14. I'd put him on the rookie list just so he stops drink driving, getting smashed and/or high and get him off the darts.
  15. I'd re-rookie the Cale Morton of 2008 and 2009. I wouldn't go near the Cale Morton of 2012
  16. Round 23 v Bulldogs:I recall Toumpas kicking the ball 40 metres with pin point accuracy and hitting Dunn on the chest which resulted in a goal. I think he started to exhibit a bit of confidence after his most recent visit to Casey. His first half against Adelaide in rd 22 was promising. Unless he's a clone of Cale Morton, I'll find if hard to believe that a pick 4 won't make it or at best be an ordinary fringe afl player. I have high hopes for Toumpas despite a slow debut season.
  17. Can't wait for Strauss, Nicholson, Bail and Pederson to have near All-Australian like years.
  18. Speaking of Jackson, he's contracted till Oct 14 right? Then he moves off into the sunset?
  19. Zak Jones could end up being the best player in the draft, and be in the top 3 players in the afl in 6 years. We could do worse than pick him at 9
  20. I don't mind Dunn. He's one of about 3 players on the list that can kick a footy. The rest couldn't hit a fish in a trout farm.
  21. I personally wouldn't spend pick 9 on Zac Jones, but for all we know he could end up being the best player in the draft.
  22. Would've got rid of Nicholson before Jetta. Can anyone confirm Nicholson's contract status?
