  1. It’s all a ploy to keep strategic assets of the dodgy re-laid turf at the G.
  2. Crisis averted. An email with details does come through eventually… for me it was just in time to see Lee bogey the last and Scheffler birdie 🥴
  3. Did this get resolved? I just took up the offer but all I have received is a receipt (which is so far unhelpful in helping me watch the golf on Kayo this morning)
  4. Not sure how you could have Dusty, Danger and, to a lesser extent, the Bont ahead of Andrew Brayshaw… feels like the view of someone who did not enough football last year.
  5. S-lobbo better-suited to do a “top 50 footballers to get on the lash with” nowadays
  6. Also probably because very few sides have had 4 talls of sufficient quality that are worthy of a game. They get a fair bit of mobility through Jamarra and Naughton so they space quite well. But yes, if it isn’t working then it offers the perfect opportunity for sides to set up well from Half back.
  7. I think Dogs are flying under the radar a bit still. That frwd line is going to crucify a side this year. Just need to keep the pressure up on them through the guts and force shallow entries - you wouldn’t want to see Lever and May deep with Petty regularly trying to cover Naughton, Lobb, English, Ugle, Darcy.
  8. Tim Kelly stinking it up again. With the benefit of hindsight, one of the worst trades in history (for Wet Toast that is, Geelong laughing all the way to the bank)
  9. Top 4 finish 2021 and then a prelim last yr (with 2 finals wins and 15 regular-season wins) - they’ve hardly been awful. I just reckon they get better this year from an already-strong position.
  10. Imagine being an 18yo prodigy and locked in for 5 years of winters in Hobart 🥴 Back to the penal days of Van Diemens land!
  11. Wasn’t saying we won’t be hard to beat. I just think they have a really good list (underperformed last 24 months) that got significantly better in the off-season. Their defence and what is between the ears the question marks though.
  12. Ashcroft notched up 30 touches against the reigning premiers in his first official game… Jordan Gysberts areas
  13. Dunkley, Ashcroft, Gunston In…. They’ll be hard to beat this yr
  14. No. Concussion last week
  15. I still love him.
  16. Are both of these statements known/facts or assumptions?
  17. The club will have a plan to quietly connect-attract-convince Port players they see as suitable in the event of Kossie requesting a trade. I’m sure they would’ve quietly tried something similar with Young/Brayshaw/Serong last year but couldn’t convince any of them to request a trade. Best thing we can hope for is a shabby year for Port and instability at Alberton!
  18. Bedford wanted to go, for more opportunity. Melbourne attempted to play hardball on the trade. Kossie is an out of town kid who lost the two closest people to him in the club: I think it would be naive to think that the club wouldn’t be thinking of ways to bolster his personal network in Melbourne to make him feel more at home here. I don’t believe that’d be the sole reason they go after Henry but I am sure it would help the argument.
  19. And a 40% discount code for the New Balance website
  20. I just hope he plays consistently good footy this year. Good form cures most things.
  21. The sausage isn’t buying Freo stock; https://www.sen.com.au/news/2023/03/01/can-west-coast-finish-higher-than-fremantle-this-season
  22. Feels about right for Rivers BUT it is a good example of how the industry over-values a draft pick. Here is a guy we got for a mid-second round draft pick 4 years ago and; he has already played 50 games (ave time for a 2nd round draft pick to pass 50 games is 8 years) he has developed in a successful environment, he is a premiership player, he gets a regular game in a top 4 side in the competition he probably has 7-10 years left in his career… … yet he is now worth the same as we paid for him… Footy players depreciate like BMWs.
  23. This is where the NBA model could be interesting / you can trade picks up to 7 years into the future, either protected or unprotected (ie conditional). With player power on the rise AND many clubs looking to do the best thing by their players (like Melbourne with Jackson), there is a risk of inequality in trades with the current set of drafting rules. Expand the rules. It’ll be more fun too.
  24. 6. Instructed his manager to open negotiations only once the number of Demonland comments on his contract surpasses 6,000 like Jacko
