  1. Could also pick up the likes of Tom Scully, Jack Trengove and Jordan Gysberts… Trust in Jason and Tim to make the right call here, they’re rarely wrong.
  2. He’ll be 9ft by then
  3. Honesty is important
  4. Flagmantle currently paying $6 to make the 8 with sbet.
  5. That’s why I hope we don’t boo Jacko. We booed Tom Scully when we were awful and Freo supporters reminded me of us back then - an unsuccessful side who has to boo a player to feel better. Let’s not go back there, Premiership-winning supporters are better than that.
  6. Brayshaw in trouble for that on Libba? To naked eye it looked dodgy
  7. I take this all back. Much more fun seeing him lost without his 21 premiership winning teammates by his side out there
  8. Have the pups returned to Perf since that glorious evening in September, 2021? Might have to put the death ride on ice tonight and enjoy the Doggies midfield twitching as they watch Luke Jackson stroll around the middle of Optus Stadium again.
  9. I’d take Oliver’s 41 useless possessions over Tim Taranto’s 31 turnovers
  10. Each to their own but I just don’t see much benefit in this concept for 85%+ of the footy-supporting public… Appears to make a lot of commercial sense to the AFL/state of SA (and for that reason it will stay) but seeing my team play another side from Melbourne in a different state, in the middle of the season and in front of a bit-of-a-nothing crowd just made zero sense to me.
  11. Classic sign of a club who has spent their pennies and want to spend more. Fair to say AFL strategy, rules and policy aren’t heavily influenced by the Port Adelaide Power’s mid-season PR releases.
  12. Just listened to 3AW clip. First time I’ve believed that they believe they are genuinely close.
  13. If so please take an MFC #6 jumper and wave it in Luke’s face as he walks down the race. The prodigal son is always welcome home (we’ll keep the draft picks though).
  14. Personal fav: “we just have a chemistry issue at the moment”
  15. Haha the logistics are doing my head in!
  16. They are the same ticket though, right? So if I’m a Port supporter and want to watch the Port game I also get a seat at the Melbourne game (which I would imagine many wouldn’t bother rocking up for).
  17. Really?! The stands will be empty for our game until late!!
  18. I hope someone can help me answering this as I’m losing sleep over it; Melbourne v Essendon match will finish roughly 1 hour before Port Doggies match is set to commence at the same ground… How does that worth with ticketing? Do they give people with the Melb Ess tickets 30 mins to leave the ground and then start allowing Port Doggies game ticket holders into the ground 30 mins before bounce? And what about the rubbish and junk that is left all over seats after any afl match… do they just leave it there?
  19. AFL just sent out a post on Facebook about the home/away team decisions for this round and it has our game at 3.40pm… the fixture has always said 4.10pm, right? edit. Ignore: didn’t factor in the different time zone thing
  20. They are though, aren’t they? Tom Morris on the media side and then Lethlean, Simkiss et al at AFL House as examples? On the illicit drug testing side of things, you’ll notice no player is currently getting caught through a testing process, it is all stupidly being caught on camera. For some time now, players who claim they have ‘mental health challenges’ can sit out ‘mandatory’ illicit drug testing. Not sure if it was a measure introduced after the issues Tuck went through. I’m sure it is legitimately used by some but similarly there are those who use it as a loophole. I know one player for certain (non-MFC) who is in the ‘loophole’ category.
  21. I’ve seen it. Definitely both reference to drugs and visual of drugs. Edit. It’s definitely on the weirder side of videos. Not sure if there willl be too much grief from the AFL over it but there will be plenty of grief from his wife and two children at home, regardless of when it was filmed.
  22. I understand your point about the ring-chasing and instability for some clubs’ supporters (look at the Nets this year) but it is a heap of fun and undeniably increases interest in the sport. It will happen in the AFL, I would put my house on it. The one thing they need to put in place prior is a lottery-draft pick system (which will also happen) - you can’t have a mid-season trade period before it because the tanking would be nek level.
  23. I meant more so that it is so on knife’s edge that they’re calling in the big guns. They’re not calling on Byron if they’re confident his signature is a fait accompli
  24. Great to hear Byron jumped on board for the pitch, frightening to hear it is in the position where they needed to ask Byron to jump on board for the pitch.
  25. If using the pre-season as a dress rehearsal for what you want to do in the season ahead, Dees get top marks: we won our practice match by exactly 50 points. We have gone on to win two of our first three games by exactly 50 points.
