Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Both drafts will be compromised (27 severely) by Tassie’s entry

TRAINING: Thursday 3rd April 2025
We stopped playing two ruckmen when we had Brodie Grundy on the list, my mind would be blown if we start that back up again with Tom Campbell on the list

PREGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Anyone notice the train line disruption on the Geelong line tomorrow? Basically buses from Wyndham Vale to Geelong. Suggest leaving now for those lunatics who are up for what appears now to be a double punishing (myself included)

Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
I have a maths riddle I need some help with. If teams are dropping a spare man back in defence against us (and doing it very well) and we take one fewer player to stoppage, how many players do we actually have one the ground at any point in time? If it is in fact 16, goes some way to explaining our poor start to the season

Back to the dark days?
Even if those three go, there is still an enormous-Barry-Prendergast-sized leap between where we would be and our dark days

PREGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Probably my mid-week pessimism kicking in but I feel Melbourne is a list filled with ‘13-possession-a-game-excellent-disposal-at-underage-level-but-not-quite-seeing-that-with-AFL-level-pressure’ types.

PREGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Simples! Luckily we are a side that are excellent at controlling the ball!

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
Can we please just go after a quality player who is squeaky clean?

Melbourne Fans Mindset
‘The forward line is lacking quality KPFs’ is off the mark. Contested marks in the F50 are increasingly rare and Richmond’s ‘bring it to ground’ strategy is old. Have a look at who is kicking goals at Hawthorn. Mabior Chol is arguably their only tall down there and they are lighting the comp up. It’s about the way you get it in there and the way the players in there are instructed to use the space. We are truly miles behind at both.

PODCAST: Rd 03 vs Gold Coast
Two parter: Is there Chanpion data stats on broken tackles? Sides are either smashing through our tackles or getting arms clear for an effective possession like I’ve never seen. Is there Champion data stats for number of throws? Why are we getting caught throwing it so much? Quick ball movement I understand but we’re not the first side to try and move it at pace from contest.

Time to go Goody?
He’s doubled down on a game plan that appears unsuitable for the modern game. Almost all players on our list have gone backwards. Which is diabolical. Thankful for the premiership but it is time to go before he ruins young careers.
- Time to start a rebuild?

CASEY: Rd 02 vs Gold Coast
But not good enough at the level up. Hopefully he learns.

Time to go Goody?
I thought it was overestimating our organisation

Goody on Unfiltered
At this rate we look more suited to a season of MAFS than a season of footy

Peter Jackson is 72 years old. And was close to the end of his interest in a full time corporate career (his admission) 10 years ago.

Steven May Re-Signs Until the End of 2025
He’d need to kick 20 goals a game to offset the punishing our backline would receive

CASEY: Rd 01 vs North Melbourne
Sounds like an English darts commentator

CASEY: Rd 01 vs North Melbourne
Do any VFL games get broadcast on free to air or other nowadays?

Dodgy cats?
Absolutely wild for the AFL to hire someone from clubland and give them the responsibility of auditing the club you were accountable for. That’d be like hiring Carl Williams to be the judge on his own case. Surely this is being reported inaccurately

The Next CEO
What is McCartney’s club background? Was he a list boss or GM football somewhere? Seems a slightly odd choice given the club’s burning platform is finding a patch of grass and then building on it.
