  1. The integrity risks become a whole lot heavier if they [censored] local wagering operators and dodgy off-shore operators start picking up market share. AFL was the #3 sport in betting revenue last time I was involved in the industry, and that doesn’t include any racing code. They haven’t got as much hand in negotiations as people would think.
  2. Yes, agree. The average teams that have cut back hard were rewarded with either eventual salary cap relief (Collingwood) or picks (Richmond)… we won’t get either with clarry so as long as he isn’t a a cultural problem you’re almost better off keeping him and hoping a) he improves a bit or b) the way the game is played changes again to favour more contested types
  3. I think the problem is either/both are only coming to us if the money is absurd
  4. Must be a reason North aren’t playing him, they’re hardly flush with players of that variety. Dont mind your thinking though, we will need a good-finishing mid-sized type to replace Melksham come 2031 though.
  5. I remember saying this about Jimmy Tounpas.
  6. He’s a horrid finisher. Huge risk what confidence he has left plummets as we leave him in the forward line to shank snaps and 30m set shots for goal.
  7. JT has helped build us the best list many of us have seen in our lifetime, a list that delivered a flag. Tim Lamb too deserves credit I do believe we get over excited about him though. He has done some great things but he’s not Jesus. Conversely, he’s also not a very naughty boy.
  8. This is the worst I’ve ever seen any football side play. Ever.
  9. I have never seen him do anything good on a football field. He is a truly average footballer.
  10. Kolt is the worst footballer in the comp by a significant margin. How does he keep getting back into the side????
  11. Dropping Windsor and JVR was not on my bingo card this season. Prior to Langford and X those two were my long term hopes. My emotional re-build has been set back years.
  12. Would struggle to snaffle a six-pack of Swan Lager for JVR right now.
  13. Still don’t understand why we’re stubbornly playing him on a back flank. The right position is the first fix for him.
  14. Jeffo looks great. Hitting packs, leading up hard. Even a good one-grabber in there
  15. So many questions. First one: why is Casey playing Collingwood at the Whitten Oval?
  16. Maybe shift the target 2m to the right of the right goal post? Problem solved.
  17. Hypothetical: Carlton make Curnow available for trade - would we trade the bounty we get for Kossie for him? I’m a yes. Bit of chatter out there at the moment re. Charlie.
  18. Think I’ve shared this on here before but an ex-player who was a well-known goal kicking coach told me (about 7 years ago) that Gawn privately asked him for goal kicking tuition, because it was an issue Max was having that the club wasn’t meaningfully help him solve. I think the advice focused on his shoulders - left shoulder dipping and shoulders not square to the goals at the drop. From memory his accuracy was improved around this period (but without access to the stats).
  19. If we can stop the ball coming into our backline as quickly as Gout Gout with an illegal tailwind then Jake will be fine.
  20. AJ is no good. Sharp can have a spell too. Also, chocko out.
  21. Can we please stop selling games to Alice Springs?
  22. He was noticeably off the Dees and chips in on Hawthorn when ‘we’ were 0-5.
  23. I listened to a fair bit of SEN yesterday and other footy media and thought Melbourne were well covered and applauded. Andy and Gazey’s drive slot is hardly the place to go for meaningful match reviews.
  24. Windsor to the backline experiment over yet?
  25. We’ve reached stage 4 of our long term project: The Jackson Fix.
