  1. Proper weird. Hope they didn’t share water bottles with that Essendon mob - I don’t want to risk any of our players testing positive for <insert disease/prohibited drug>!
  2. I am seeing $227k on the page linked to from the site...
  3. Did I miss something? Is AVB injured?
  4. Not sure ‘best squad in past 50 years’ is a particularly high bar to set but it feels like a very premature comment. We came 17th last year. 2 weeks ago we looked like one of the worst sides in the comp. I’ll happily take the ‘94 and ‘00 squads at this point in time.
  5. Yep just noticed that then. Thought they were absent from the previous round on first glance
  6. Coming up against Norf off a 4 day break (they will be coming off their ‘bye’) + 3 states in about 7 days. Not ideal. We need that 4 points - a lot of annoying headwinds make it less bankable now. Ah well. edit. Got this wrong. Thought Norf has the bye when we play Adelaide but they don’t.
  7. 2 - 15mm rain forecast for Sunday. Certainly ain’t playing all of the talls.
  8. Hang on. Weren’t you piling into people who questioned Oliver’s disposal the other week? You confuse me.
  9. Thanks for the heads up. Talked about Trac and how he has worked on mindset which has kept him focused in parts of games he has historically become distracted. Made some mention of him even working on (or at least attempting to) his behaviour off the field in this regard. Talked a bit about him and Jacko but not a great deal to report on that front. Talked about an ‘unselfish’ midfield and what I took from it was they like the balance of Trac/Clarry/Viney/Brayshaw at the moment. Made special mention of Brayshaw and how he thinks he has been one of Melbourne’s best and he is confused why people are saying he is out of form. I’m sure that will upset a few on here.
  10. Almost 25% of his match payment. Harsh. Always felt there should be a progressive taxing system applied to fines. If Steven May did that it’d be a drop in the ocean for him.
  11. I certainly didn’t say drop him. I think I said I’d like to see him spend more time forward (still do) first of all. Secondly I believe I said he needs to improve his disposal significantly or he will be in danger. I think he has shown a significantly improved performance on that front in the last two weeks. It is ok to have an opinion. Have a relax.
  12. I think you need Lockhart next week. They’ve got plenty of smalls who can get off the leash (Berry, Cameron et al) so you’re not dropping your quickest lock-down player. Jackson in allowed Max to drop behind the ball which tactically worked today. They might want to go down that route again next week. Also remember Brisbane play 2x legit ruckmen . My tip is they’ll go unchanged and give Tom another week off (with goody saying ‘it is a sensitive area so we’re going to be cautious’).
  13. Quite happy for Hawthorn to eat there and not us. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.smh.com.au/national/human-excrement-found-in-free-gelato-20081026-gdt0cj.html
  14. We haven’t had many AAs in the last decade but one of them was a former Don so I would say ‘hell yes’ to this
  15. Why not in Sydney if our home game? There is no other game in Sydney that day so can’t be a clash issue. Not only do we have to jump on a plane to play our home game in their state but we have to go and play them in greasy dusk/early evening conditions (which they are used to). Baffling.
  16. Think Clarko will have a pretty quick answer to our short kick inside 50 set piece? Me too. Perhaps we just surprise them and start bombing it in again.
  17. Good chance our Sunday game will then run into a Thursday or Fri game as they look to squeeze more matches into this next block. Most likely any change would be load management related. E.g someone like an AVB out (even though I thought he did some important things late) for a fitter Tomlinson, with AVB back the following week for someone else who would struggle to get up for another short turnaround (maybe a Brayshaw).
  18. I was frustrated with Melksham early. Thought he could’ve stalked the CHF area better when we had nobody else around. But when we are at our best he is a big part of it. 15 touches and a goal tonight not the worst result on paper. I wouldn’t drop him vs Hawthorn - could use his experience/craftiness.
  19. Tad harsh. Inherited Goodwin’s contract extension so is limited in his capacity to impact football performance. Tick on new sponsors. Tick on a healthy(ish) balance sheet which will give us a fighting chance of avoiding AFL intervention. Too early to tell on finding a new home - certainly hasn’t succeeded on that front but that is a long range project so deserves more time. My biggest query on him is his role in endorsing the coaching changes (and bringing a failed coach in Richardson in to support a coach under pressure) but that really should sit on Mahoney’s shoulders first.
  20. I’d call Paul Roos and firmly tell him the coach he gave us is broken and he has to come back and hang around until he fixes it.
  21. Too lazy (or scared) to read this thread but they need to try him in frwd line for a significant chunk of time in a game. That should be a kick up the [censored]. If that doesn’t work, then the magoos. I have a sick feeling in my stomach that his disposal in the middle is a HUGE part of our overall problem and isn’t fixable
  22. Dees beat them in an ANZAC Eve match (possibly the first ever one?) the same week Tom Hafey passed away. Hogan came onto the scene that night. Did one on Rance from memory
