I believe there is without of doubt they would have looked at it during the pre season in some form or another and that is called a review without making a big deal of it. The FD cannot be that naive. Goody keeps his cards close . However it is obvious that we haven't the depth to cover and it is hurting us big time. Omac I have observed him at training many times. He is so relaxed that he has a a clean pair of hands when taking a mark and most times one on one his kicking skills for a big man are so precise you would think he was a champion player. Yet last season was his best season. This year his expressions on the ground, game day is of nervousness of a worried look no where to hide sense. Lacking something, Loss of confidence as players have there downers. He is a much needed player when up and running lets hope he can snap out of whatever it is. Omac has his admirers.

After all he was a Melbourne supporter and might have some feelings. Call it a romance who knows ? What will be, will be. Maybe it turns out to be a bargain like a Scully although in his case it is early to say. A 2 year contract in his twilight might be in our favour and after all he won't have line up on Frosty. Although Preuss's goal was sensational enough I can't think of a better class goal kicked by a super talent from 50 metres out being slinged at the same time. . The ball dead set splits the middle a very vital time in the game. Petrac the class act with a classic finish.

Lewis could be back this week and could have played against Sydney but precaution took precedence . Although he is getting on he has been missed and still has plenty to offer. Lewy is the General in the back half and will launch our attacking moves. I like to see Jeffy for pressure and speed in playing up forward and his goal sense. The Wagner's are playing there roll and picking up good game time that will help us in the near future. They are doing the hard yards down at Casey and are consistent performers . They bring their talent to the AFL and as you can see they play hard run hard and still learning and getting acclimatized . Josh has played 30 odd games now and Cory has been given a chance to show his talents. However you can call them depth players but you also can see them forcing themselves as a permanent fixture in the side. Room for improvement a plenty. Just to say that they do bring back memories of the Febey's Brothers.

His form is not great and you could put it down to his pre season hamstrings problems the first of two coming pre Christmas. Hardly a pre season for Nathan however the 3 games that he has played, is averaging 20 possessions a game so he is building fitness and at least he is getting to the ball. Nathan is a proud person and has plenty to offer There are more issues than his form warrants and will turn it around as he gets close to peak fitness. I think he could be suited playing on the wing and on occasion as a half forward. There are more issues with team structure than Nathan's form.

No option but to play Frosty on Buddy as he had a good game on him last season and might give him the confidence that he lacks at the minute although he was ok the last game. The thing is that no one put up there hand to replace either Omac today as Casey were disappointing. Petty and Keilty shot blanks. In Stretch and Preuss to rotate with Gawn between Ruck and forward and to go tall and outstretch their backs. IMO if Preuss plays the rotation could be of value. It might be what we needed from the start. I can't see many changes. I have no outs although 2 have to be dropped. It will be interesting. I am not giving up on the season just yet.

How many games do you have to lose to for a coach to be critsised? So the next coach that has a poor start is in the same boat and so on. Goodwin got us to a Pelim in 2 years he is the best we have had for a long time apart from Roos and we have to stick with him not stomp on him. There are reasons of coarse. And it is not Goodwin. Work it out! Lay off Goodwin it is a poor showing of faith as he is disappointed l am sure and he will rectify the problem whatever it takes for the FD to get back on track. Give him some space.

The positives were Cory Wagner tried hard ,kicked a nice goal and chased hard played his role and will keep his spot as will his brother Josh no doubt. Hunty kicked 3 goals had 16 poss 4 marks could have kicked another however he shanked it but that was his best game playing forward. Gawn had 20 odd poss 43 HO kicked a goal. His best game to date. The Negatives ANB .....WTF is going on in your head not interested ? no marks 4 kicks 4 hp . OMAC 5 poss no marks and a terrible 3 weeks of footy you and ANB at CASEY next game and beyond ! We made mistakes that cost us the game but the umpires really crucified us especially umpire no 5 Leigh Haussen a South Australian umpire. We have 17 players who played finals recently in this side and made a Prelim. Out are lewis spargo Hannan JSmith and V berg. .........in Hunt Kolo lockhart J and C Wagner. What constitutes a bad side? Enough personnel to win the game. No excuses.

Why would you worry about Goodwin , as if he doesn't care ? he didn't ask for the losses or the injuries we have. So lay off him he is out there to do his best and we have to stick by him and the players and support them not criticise when thing don't go to plan. We are a touch behind however we will be better and improve so hang in there support hard .............. We are Melbourne!

Preuss to come in and help Gawn rotating at full forward to stretch their back line and nothing to lose in bringing Jeffy in for his goal sense, crumbing, speed and experience. Stretch must be given a chance to play as he has strung some good games together and is looking good. We have to play Jeffy as well because of his experience and goal sense plus his speed is an asset IMO could't do any worse. I like Sparrow and Lockhart however now is the time for them to string some consistency in the VFL and be made to earn their games. IN. Stretch, Jeffy and Preuss. Out. May inj. Lockhart Sparrow.

Oskar Baker is slowly gathering the fitness he needs to compete and run hard as he gains the match practice. Has had 3 game now and cross fingers has pulled up well. A season ending hammy in 2018 and a hammy to his opposite leg as well finished him off that season and missed finals at Casey. I think it won't be long before we see him playing for Melbourne sooner rather than later in the season. Oskar has speed to burn and is a tough fiery fella imo would be an asset can find the ball.
