VFL Curtain Raisers Return to G in 2019
I remember running out onto the" G" in a reserves match against Collingwood after the game in 1969 chasing autographs and came across no. 4 Tony Sullivan who gave me his signature and felt chuffed about it. Only to find that he signed it Fred Bear. I wasn't impressed to say the least. Loved the Reserves game.

Crystal Ball 2019: Predictions for next season
Our back line will hold up with May and Lever eventually returning successfully which will give us a good boost up. Oscar Baker will make his debut and become a speed king sensation with plenty of tricks to boot. Harmes, Brayshaw,Viney, Clarry, Petracca and driven by Gawn and help from a brute force in Preuss alternating in the forward line will cause havoc. The Weid will have a breakout year and kick 40 plus goals and TMc to kick 50 plus which will make them a formidable combination thanks to our backline launching attacks. Petracca will finish in the top 3 in the B&F with his breakout year and a possible AA. We will finish in the top 2 as we set ourselves up for an assault at the Premiership. You have to believe.

Demons are the team to beat in 2019: Champion Data
Champion Data so called have the Eagles ranked at no. 11 and with a Premiership to boot. However they now strengthen their team with Gaff. Collingwood no 5 with the Data add Beams and Elliott if fit and so on. IMO the hardest sides to beat. Richmond ,Essendon and ,Hawthorn no 3, 4 and 9 ranked side look quite strong. Interesting times in 2019. In the meantime the Dees are the no 1 ranked side. l will take that and hope we defend it resolutely. The inclusions of May and Lever, ,barring any major injuries will help the cause.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Fremantle you have embarrassed Jesse Hogan's value if you stoop so low and you are looking for a bargain basement you might find something you like at K Mart. You mistook David Jones for K Mart. Sorry Freo you took the wrong turn! HEAVE HO AWAY WE GO WHERE WE STOP WE DO NOT KNOW. Come on Dees! convince him to extend his contract.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Freo you you have it all wrong. You want Jesse Hogan you forget that he is worth the 2 first round drafts picks. In return we will give you a packet of Dunking biscuits for your Football Department to SUCK ON! No chocolate Teddies for you lot.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
If we get 5 and 11 for Hogan or maybe 5 and 23 and another pick what ever it may be. Let GC come to us with the deal we have the time as it is on our side. If it doesn't eventuate we go into the Draft and chase the best kids. We have OMac, Frosty and Lever to come back Start rating them they will do the job. May is 27 not 23 and has a history of suspensions. He is no world beater.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
You hope that you keep your bet players at the club. Sometimes l wonder if Hogan wants to go however the FD are sick of it as well. Trade him for first round No 5 and Brayshaw's young brother and the deal is done. No other deal plain and simple and if the answer is no cut the losses and keep him.Somehow l don't think he wants to go. IMO.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Preuss To me with his height at 206cm and solidly built a man mountain had the distinction of leading the NM ruck division when Goldstein was struggling and to me he covered the ground well. Look for a future ruckman , my word l think we have one a B rookie in Bradtke l think that is what he is. However the Premiership window is open and he is been identified with the FD. So l am going with the flow. And that is how it is. I have followed the club just as long as alot of others and although we all have our opinions we mostly think in the same light when it comes to our club. In other words we are almost all on the same page. cynical or not l love the club and and when l think of something l like to share it and not all are going to like it. I didn't read PJ's comments. If l had of then l wouldn't have written it. All IS GOOD Nasher.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Preuss is not only a back up for Gawn . He is 23 stands at 206 cm and is around 110kgs he is huge Played predominantly forward in his junior days. At one stage he was the main ruck at North in front of Goldstein but was shuffled back when Goldstein came good again. Preuss has played 8 games and kicked 5 goals so he knows how to kick a goal. I believe that Goody is going to stretch the opposition backline with Preuss or Gawn when resting. there similar to WCE with Lycett, Vardy and co It can work and it will be interesting to see. He is worth picking up.

1964 memories- calling our older supporters
I remember listening to the radio with my Dad being 11 years old wearing my Melbourne jumper with the number 16 on my back. Johnny Townsend's number. I am hoping this could be the year and if not we are not that far away this time.

Jayden Hunt
Hunty although dropped early in the season his input wasn't enough and struggled a bit. Injured his ankle with Casey and out for6 weeks plus. Forced himself back in the side and re injured the ankle. However a few weeks out from the finals Melbourne had a settled side. He has had an up and down season however he doesn't lack the skill and application just a bit of confidence. He is an integral part of the make up but if Melbourne keep winning in finals it will be hard for anyone to break in at this stage of the season.

Post Match Discussion - Elimination Final
91,000 + at the G Felt like 70,000 supporting the Dees, incredible atmosphere and led from start to finish. Incredible football team and now l will always believed in this side that has been built since the Roos years. Now Goody is carrying on with his fantastic work so far. Viney is something special and Weideman is going to be something , infact the football club is in a good space. Yes! we can do it.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Preuss is 23yo 206 cm and 110 kgs. Big boy that can move well and has impressive tap work. Is from QLD and played rugby. Converted to Aussie rules at 16. Positions played Ruck and full forward and a ready made back up for Gawny. Contracted at NM till 2020. Why would we persue him? Because he might be a good insurance incase Gawny goes down he can certainly take a mark. Maybe he wants to come to us because he wants to play for a top side and learn from the best in Maxy.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
You are in LA LA LAND You are a stirrer lol .. you don't need to cause this problem about trade. You were not at the game today obviously. You are not a true Dees faithful.

The Many Sides of Jake Melksham
Jake has speed to burn knows where the goals are and has a thumping kick. However l believe that he will be one of many that will help us go deep into the Finals in the not to distant future. Well done Jake on your 150th Afl games. Have a great game and hope that the Bomber supporters are watching and wondering why you are a better player at the Demons. Go Dees!

The Need for Outside Midfielders
Tmac struggled and hardly touched the ball bruised lung of course you know all that and very tentative. J Smith and Petty just not up to It at the minute. How can you not look slow and out of sorts when you are struggling with hand and foot? The last 2 I mention didn't bust their gut. I agree with you lets hope we don't capitulate
-
The Need for Outside Midfielders
Yes l agree with you there, However they won those games although the opposition looked slow. Is that the way it works? So if we win on the G next time we play is it because we are not slow anymore? Let's wait and see how we go at the G against Bulldogs, G Coast, SYD and GWS. and and get a better idea. There are a whole lot of reasons why we are not playing well. A win will help. Whats above the shoulder is where the confidence comes from.
-
The Need for Outside Midfielders
Its not that the players are unfit, they lack confidence. We beat the Saints merley 6 weeks ago we Didn't look slow then. Need to get the balance right. Players are fit however you see it. It is amazing what a win can do.
-
Farewell Dean Kent
If Kent gets himself right soon enough and maybe after the break he has the potential to break a game open. Shows that he can kick multiple goals and gathers possessions consistently when he is on. A nuggety player however, he is injury prone. I hope he stays as he still has time on his side. He could be the X factor.

Adelaide’s Tom Lynch
Lets look after our stock now that they are starting to show more promising results. Lynch doesn't fit the bill ,what we need is an outside Mid as we know in Gaff and to go after him hard. However we don't need a TMac generic.

Is Brayshaw more rounded than the Trac?
I personally don't want to compare Petracc an Gus as l love both of them playing for us. They are going to be super players and help build a great culture and hopefully lead to a to a premiership . Need to sign up Gus sooner rather than later. How fortunate we are to have both of them.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
It's always a good time to bring in a first gamer as we need a bit of enthusiasm and Charlie Spargo will add a bit of bite close to goals. Hopefully he is picked in the 22 when they finalise the side.

Ollie Wines
We had Ollie and was to join Melbourne at pick 4 and to be with his close mate in Jack Viney. GWS had the first 3 picks in the National Draft and Melbourne had pick no 4.which came from GWS for an uncontracted player compensation pick, that happened to be for Scully. Toumpas was to be picked up early and fell through to pick 4. Todd Viney and co decided to pick Toumpas ahead of Ollie and he slipped through to Pick 7. Note! After picking Toumpas at 4 the next pick at 5 was Jake Stringer, WHAT IF? GOD HELP US !
