What to do with Petracca?
Petracca has an attitude about him you can read his body language, however he is not the only issue here. His form is not great and seems to be going through the motions. Last night's game he played in was his worst l seen him involved in and that goes for many others. Petracca can turn it around as he has that ex factor. For me he wasn't out there last night for one reason or another and as the saying goes a week is a long time in football. Lets give him the opportunity to redeem himself because really he is one of our better players and really after 2 games he is not the problem alone. Let's get off his back and the remarks towards him the silly lets get rid of him or drop him or his hopeless or can't play is just anger talking. We have bigger fish to fry this week and we need to turn it around collectively. Look to Essendrug Friday night to get our first win and put us on our way.

POSTGAME: Rd 02 vs Geelong
There is something not right when you have 25 more inside 50s and are annihilated by 80 points. Not interested? Clarry Gus Viney and Gawn the rest can go and have a good look in the mirror. Oh! and Petracca needs 2 mirrors to have a real good look at himself. Disappointing Dees !!!! I am SHATTERED, Atleast have a go. WTF happened to the contested possessions.

Who will the Demons target next?
In your opinion maybe not. However he appears smarter, more skilful and possess more grunt compared to some of our players at the moment. Not naming names.
-
Who will the Demons target next?
Could be Zac Jones perhaps he gets to play with his brother finally. Is smart and tough running half back and can play some Mid time. I am not sure if contracted for 2020 however he will be only 25.

Sam Weideman + contract
Weid's potential is there and he would need to produce a good consistent block of games this year and score many goals 50 plus to be thought of a 700 k contract. He is level headed and knows what he has to do to earn respect and his keep on the field. Never say never however he is well entrenched at the Demons.

Dunn Knee Again
Dunny could play and was reliable but l guess that our FD thought he wasn't good enough to fit into the side. However in a short space of time became a fixture in the backline for C/wood reliable and a was respected as a person and player and in time was voted in their Leadership group. Devastated for what seems like the end of the road of his playing career. Loved him at Melbourne and didn't have a hate for him playing for the enemy . In the future l wouldn't be surprised if Lynden was picked up as an assistant coach and if there is a chance to get him, perhaps his leadership values and toughness would rub on the guys. Dunny in my eyes your a Demon for life.

PREGAME: Rd 02 vs Geelong
Good changes with Kolo coming in with his great foot skills an asset will be handy. l believe for forward pressure and smarts around the goals Lockhart could be damaging if VFL form of 2018 is a guideline, had exceptional form last year. Although he has been selected in the Backline. Not surprised with Frosty staying put as he could be used for support in the backline or a pinch hit on the forward line with his speed and his body strength. Hoping he doesn't have a brain freeze. Slightly surprised with Spargo's omission he didn't do much wrong and was one of our better players against PA. FD's call. Great to see Steven May included and wish him all the best. Good luck Dees!

Cornes: Stop Whinging Dees
Cornsy you jumped on Ports band wagon and are good at doing something like that to make up and be liked again by the bogans that follow them. Winging does not agree with our club however the dirty tactics when striking someone to the ground or running into them when not looking is a low act. Jonas was better off getting his $2000 worth by striking Gawn to the stomach with a hard clench fist. These days you can hurt a player and be more likely fined. No winging just frustrated with our performance and after round one too. .Cornsy Please! don't jump on our band wagon again. Oh! and Port haven't made finals

Jack Viney and the medical staff...
You are right on the money Chook and it is never a dull moment with so many told you so panic merchants that we have on Demonland. One loss and we are finished or another loss and it is the end of the world. My My WTF next.

The Writing Was/Is on the Wall
JLT Series we made our tweaks with the team we fielded we didn't get smashed and had a few out. Tigers and Lions were winners the 1st round. We were disappointing on the weekend for obvious reasons and coming up against the Cats away is a hard task at any time. GEELONG, ESSENDON, SYDNEY, ST. KILDA, RICHMOND,and HAWTHORN up to round 7 IMO we will know where we are heading by round 7. This team is not over rated as you say. They had no control over the media hype and being put on a pedestal by the pundits. With injuries to Viney and Lever mid year 2018 and Hogan didn't help our cause for a double chance which could have helped us avoid WC in the Prelim or maybe even beat them on our merits. We are a work in progress and assuming we make the eight, which I believe we can, it will still be a good result. And once we are there, we have the experience to know what we can do. One loss in Round 1 doesn't mean we are losers. I'm sure the boys don't think they are losers. Will reset for next week. Yesterday's game wasn't Melbourne. Who was it? That's what we would all like to know. Like to know your response after Round 7, RJ.

Sam Weideman + contract
Sam has the potential and showed it in the the first two finals and that is where he became a man so to speak. IMO if you stand up in Finals you are on the way to making the grade no doubt. The Weid is ready for his breakout year and at his age he has the scope for improvement. The bounce is not too far away for the start of the season and am hanging out to see him take big marks and kick many goals in 2019 and beyond.

Target 70,000
Fourteen of my Family members are all membership holders at Melbourne hardly miss a game at home. Where still growing the dynasty. I believe with the help of a strong performance early in the season we can reach 50,000 plus members . The membership will rise significantly and reach the target when we have the ultimate success.

Salem Re-Signs Until 2021
Salem is such an honest and silky smooth team member and in our best 22 without a doubt. His left foot precision kicking is a classic and a delight to watch. I wish him all the best as i believe he is ready to do something special. Ready for his breakout season.

Lyon: Oliver is Demons best EVER midfielder
I agree with G Lyon and for Clarrie to be called the best ever Demon Midfielder then he has to help us win the Premiership.
-
Sam Weideman + contract
How many players can come into the side as a 21yo and 18 games of senior footy play finals and take the game by the scruff of the neck like the Weid did. He took Geelong to the cleaners and was almost as good the next game against the Hawks. Two sides we have struggled to beat since the days. Finals games are invaluable and for the Weid he flourished. IMO l have no hesitation to back him in without a doubt. Having a good side will help him as he will have some very good talent to support. him.

Jake Melksham extends for three more years
I have to say that Milkshake is one of my favourites the kind of player that gives you a buzz when kicking a goal at the right moments taking a mark when it counts finding space at the pointy end of the game I cannot fault his play. I am a big fan of his and I would not be on my own in saying that. 3 year contract. I am a happy Demon.
-
Sam Weideman + contract
The weid can play there is no doubt and could of faulted in the finals instead he played like he belonged and that is what they play for to play finals and make history and to help win the ultimate for our great club. There have been some great players for other clubs that have struggled to play well in finals consistently and crumble under the pressure. .However Sam can take a mark in a pack ,can tackle, knows how to kick a goal and is growing in confidence.. The finals was a Godsend for him and alot of good came out of it and IMO he is ready to produce his best. The Kid is no one hit wonder. He is something!

Crystal Ball 2019: Predictions for next season
Our back line will hold up with May and Lever eventually returning successfully which will give us a good boost up. Oscar Baker will make his debut and become a speed king sensation with plenty of tricks to boot. Harmes, Brayshaw,Viney, Clarry, Petracca and driven by Gawn and help from a brute force in Preuss alternating in the forward line will cause havoc. The Weid will have a breakout year and kick 40 plus goals and TMc to kick 50 plus which will make them a formidable combination thanks to our backline launching attacks. Petracca will finish in the top 3 in the B&F with his breakout year and a possible AA. We will finish in the top 2 as we set ourselves up for an assault at the Premiership. You have to believe.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Fremantle you have embarrassed Jesse Hogan's value if you stoop so low and you are looking for a bargain basement you might find something you like at K Mart. You mistook David Jones for K Mart. Sorry Freo you took the wrong turn! HEAVE HO AWAY WE GO WHERE WE STOP WE DO NOT KNOW. Come on Dees! convince him to extend his contract.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
Freo you you have it all wrong. You want Jesse Hogan you forget that he is worth the 2 first round drafts picks. In return we will give you a packet of Dunking biscuits for your Football Department to SUCK ON! No chocolate Teddies for you lot.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
If we get 5 and 11 for Hogan or maybe 5 and 23 and another pick what ever it may be. Let GC come to us with the deal we have the time as it is on our side. If it doesn't eventuate we go into the Draft and chase the best kids. We have OMac, Frosty and Lever to come back Start rating them they will do the job. May is 27 not 23 and has a history of suspensions. He is no world beater.
-
Farewell Jesse Hogan
You hope that you keep your bet players at the club. Sometimes l wonder if Hogan wants to go however the FD are sick of it as well. Trade him for first round No 5 and Brayshaw's young brother and the deal is done. No other deal plain and simple and if the answer is no cut the losses and keep him.Somehow l don't think he wants to go. IMO.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS
Preuss To me with his height at 206cm and solidly built a man mountain had the distinction of leading the NM ruck division when Goldstein was struggling and to me he covered the ground well. Look for a future ruckman , my word l think we have one a B rookie in Bradtke l think that is what he is. However the Premiership window is open and he is been identified with the FD. So l am going with the flow. And that is how it is. I have followed the club just as long as alot of others and although we all have our opinions we mostly think in the same light when it comes to our club. In other words we are almost all on the same page. cynical or not l love the club and and when l think of something l like to share it and not all are going to like it. I didn't read PJ's comments. If l had of then l wouldn't have written it. All IS GOOD Nasher.
