WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Oh, I though Jack Darjeeling might have been on our radar... I'll see myself out...

Brody Mihocek
It's interesting @Pollyanna - I read what you said as 'no team is' therefore Weiderman won't help us 'contend'. I still (as the eternal optimist) would rather persist with Weid, rather than Brown, so that when he is 25 and onwards, we as a club have a reign of 5 mother [censored] years at the top...alongside the refinemient of a range of game plans and players that help us get there. #Weidainttheproblem.

2020 Demons Goal of the Year
I initially had Harley for the emotion behind it... but as things now stand..etc etc. @spirit of norm smith I concur re: Trent Rivers goal as well. And Trac's against the Saints. Did Oliver not kick one not dissimilar to his a few years ago re: Adelaide?

Alistair Nicholson resigns as ACA boss
Maybe he just wants a quieter life... like the CEO who becomes a plumber. Actually, I've never met a former CEO who has become a plumber...has anyone??

Taylor Excited About the Draft
Hi @Lord Travis, thanks for your observations. It sounds as though you regularly watch junior/colt level games? Is that correct? Whilst I'm permanently an optimistic person on players (I'm still waiting for Matthew Bate to become the next Lance Whitnall)...I wonder if through all your watching of junior games, whether we have drafted players, that have actually come on better than you expected? Which for me means, from your perspective, can players can develop skills moreso then what their junior output and their first and second season output shows on evidence.

What absolutely magic objective reasoning.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
Ahhh, you know where I live :)

Farewell Braydon Preuss
I agree with you @Demon3 - nonetheless, if we get their first pick (39, or whatever) Mahoney will be perceived as weak and the club has been bent over by some legendary posters on here.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
It's an interesting topic. Is a player bigger than other personnel or dynamics at a club? Does Oliver's alleged interest in leaving mean personnel or other things are shifted to suit one (very bloody good) player? Philosophically I would hope not, he (as everyone is) is merely but a cog in a wheel... Emotionally though, hmmmmm... Just spent the last 3 hours at the beach, now have an 8% beer in hand... how good are Monday's on leave ?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Thanks for sending that on @Hannibal Inc., I for one thought a lot of his goals were either pin point passes or 'staged' free kicks. Clearly not the case. Good to have your reality updated every now and again...

Jack Viney on Re-Signing & Geelong Offer
I get that this notion is a personal and lived experience for folk... AND as AFL clubland is full of this sort of schtick, he should have known and acted this way since he was 18... ie: it's not a new realisation. Ugh, that's unfair on Jack - Jack probably already knows this.. its about the demonstrations of it - he is amazing physically on the field... not sure in other areas however...perhaps that what he is delineating?

Trade Targets
I'd love a fans poll on the following Do the current generation of players have more of an allegiance to their own career (success) and payments throughout vs staying at one club? My take would be 80% - 20% ie: It's more of a US model than a 1900-2014 VFL/AFL model?

Brad Green on Board?
How come @Demonland? What about Brad fits with this role? (Not accusatory, genuinely interested).

Strategic improvement in the way we play
Ripping first post @Altona-demon - perhaps it would fit into this other ripping thread below - as alluded to by @Diamond_Jim

Yze is a Demon Again
Fair enough @SFebes I just cannot comprehend how outside pundits have a feel of things (stubborn etc), vs those internally (who actively seek external advice) and then those internally, choose to disregard perspectives on said coach, and hire other people to advise, to a no win situation.
-
Yze is a Demon Again
So what I don't get - is the fact that there is a perspective that Goodwin listens to.... no one and he is stubborn Ergo, if this is all true, irrespective of who is brought in, he will still listen to no one andhe is still stubborn If this is all true... then those appointing Yze (or whoever) are either really [censored] dumb (because irrespective of who is appointed...yadda yadda yadda), or perhaps the mythology that Goodwin listens to no one, is simply mythology.

Yze is a Demon Again
I presume perhaps he has been removed from the site? He has been rather quiet since his diatribe. And no one, aint no one, who can slag of Yze...

Yze is a Demon Again
Hey Coq (with a ck?), whats with the patronising attitude? Presuming you were alive when he played, ergo you'd be old enough to understand that a footballing career doesn't make a coaching career. Just ask Al Clarkson... or umpteen other premiership coaches or line coaches, or any coach, it's an invalid argument. It's fine that you don't rate Yze... just don't equate your views on his playing career, with all the growth and acumen he now has as a 40+ year old man, vs a 20-30 year old. Unless of course, you're either a) in the system and think he is a [censored], or b) his best mate and think he is a [censored].

Yze is a Demon Again
Hi, long time observer of your posts... Are there any redeeming qualities about this club you allegedly support?

Dees Reviewing Senior Footy Department Positions
Oh FFS - so only serious reviews annually occur when a premiership is won? To the premiership winners? Or perhaps the top 8? You are old enough and wise enough to understand there are a whole range of things outside of your control - these things have been pointed out repeatedly to you and to others throughout the year. One last time for just 'some of the' factors (reasons, excuses) that have impinged on our season. Essendon AND Melbourne had a bye - at the beginning of a 15 game stretch... no other teams had that disadvantage Travel, multiple 'hubs' compared to a range of other teams that had limited travel...i could list what that impacts but i shant. If you think that these things do NOT affect the playing group and capacity to perform, and that it's all due to 'coaching' , you're either naive or stuck in 1966. As you said, Lenny would be a ripping fitness coach for you :) Still the most 'hardest' and most perpetually disappointed poster on here. Love ya guts.

Finals Week 1
On the subject of Bruce - what the [censored] is a "hat trick" doing in the lexicon of our game? @Rab D Nesbitt? @Skuit? @Wobbly Bob? Gents, doyens, pedants, is it appropriate language?

Whilst I agree (and hell, its what every club does every year, so there is nothing knew with your statement) , I can't help but put Lenny McClean's voice to your posts... particularly from 4.22 in this youtube link...yeah I know I pop it up every 3 months or so :)
