		Mahoney's Trade Plan

Are you feeling anxious @Hogan2014 You know trade time is about negotiations? Which is time consuming? Which is about the previous fostering of relationships both with 'said' player and incumbents at other clubs to get trades done. Slow motion isn't inactive... we've got great recent history. Saints aint the bench mark... and quite frankly if you're benchmarking trade time, you're focused on the wrong thing.

		AFL Trade Radio

seriously, that's a pretty out of line comment. staff have all moved on. It's not endemic to the walls of the club (even though the moved from windy hill to tullamarine). don't tar current staff for previous staff's failings.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention @Whispering_Jack. I knew one of his son's rather well through university, so shall make contact. The beauty of this site is the interconnectedness, and at times, helps reconnect during the most important times of life. Cheers.

		Mahoney's Trade Plan

Damned if you do and don't in a position of mouthpiece eh. Not once under Mahoney's tenure, (with perhaps Langdon last year as an exception) was it telegraphed what players we were bringing in. Matter of fact, not sure how this article/interview came about (mandated monthly fluff piece??), but if he had to give something, he gave that.. Josh has more straight bat's than a willow factory when it comes to conjecture.

		TMac on the Trade Table?

It's been debated elsewhere no end on this forum. Perhaps you should write a letter to the club, air your concerns, but I would presume the FD have thought of all these possibilities??

		Adam Treloar

Hi @Hannibal Inc., I'm neither here nor there with Adam Treloar, however you've gone with the highlights package and inherent within that is 0 errors to be viewed. Far more meaningful would be the Statspro App of his games via the AFL website. Man, having watched just a handful of his games this morning, eyeballing him, he goes barely better at 50% retaining the ball on his delivery. If I knew how to convert what was on my screen into a video that was able to be viewed, I'd forward it on to this thread. Ultimately, though the question for all us backseat FD department decision makers is... does his limitations outweigh what he brings? Oh..and are his hamstring shot? Oh and what is his character like? ?

Jayden Hunt Re-Signs for 2 years

I find it intriguing. I like Hunt, I think he has some great assets, and he floats in and out of games. Now whether that is just the nature of him, or whether it is where the FD position him is up for debate. As a byproduct of this, he flits in and out of the side. So from my end, I am intrigued as to why Hunt would choose to stay, where that seems to be his 'lot'. Unless of course, there is no interest for him elsewhere.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

Oh, I didnt even click the down bit on the link... I get it @Wiseblood, i would trawl as well.. but in the cold hard light of day ... I can't see that a midfielder of ours for Ben Brown would be commensurate... so yeah Clickbait.. but tasty clickbait I guess.. when we're worried that the midfield would get disbanded... when we are finally coming up to the goldlilocks zone...

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

snarky ? Surely people get that some posters have their one trick pony schtick (a bit like Ben Brown allegedly) - and we all openly acknowledge this, without ever actually telling the person that we know that their schtick is boring as feck. And that's ok. But then every now and again the schtick changes and you realise that said poster *ahem, cough* Ben Brown has more in his armoury than given credit for. And it's a lovely surprise. Some posters however... drone on and on and on... best to mute methinks... even if the 'crowd' think they're amusing..... And so linking that back to Ben... it's ok to sledge Ben, over his hair, his run up... but when you're 8 can's deep at the preliminary final next year, 4 goals up and Ben is managing momentum/time wasting with his run up, or his brush back of his voluptuous hair...(yes I know the clock has stopped)... we can all probably reflect on how, when for north melbourne, for the love of god, who is this [censored]...but now.. .my man, I always knew this would be a great trade so that I, and only I can finally reach the holy grail of a premiership and cry many many many many tears of joy... but then you come back to reality and the G, probably in the ponsford stand if you are from the country like myself... and give yourself a little fist pump and knowing smile, that hey... this Brown bloke, much like some posters on Demonland, can actually surprise you...even though they're as beige as feck.

		Farewell Sam Weideman

Why? Does Sam Weiderman love collingwood? or is it just. a. lovely. romantic. link.. that only certain people above the age of 50 'fondly recall'. as though the boy has always wanted to go home? actually, it's pretty [censored] hilarious, this notion of just doing what your parents and grandparents did, irrespective of your current circumstance, and the people you as a mid 20yo care for and have formed relationships with.

		Farewell Sam Weideman

Mmmmm,** I often think of Hawkins, Franklin, Kennedy, Darling, Westhoff, Lynch, Brown and Reiwoldt as high defensive pressure forwards, and when I do, I slap myself in the face and remind myself what the [censored] they are there for. 1. If you can, mark it...do your best to kick straight. 2. If you can't, halve it 3. When you halve it, as much as possible do it in favour of your forwards. 4. If you can't do that... (we have metrics on your aerobic capacity)...gas yourself out in the first 15 minutes of Qr1 with intense bursts of speed (not looking at you Sam Weiderman) and do feck all for the rest of the match. 5. Slap in the face...Scratch 4 - use your body to smash the backmen physically, stretch them, dummy lead, allow your smaller forwards to wreak havoc. **I concur fully.

		Adam Treloar

Interesting isn't it - I see Collingwood as the 'Denmark' in this. As in, who is driving the narrative around the first 4 items you listed? It's not Treloar. It seems bitter, and clearly relationships will never be repaired.

Jesse Hogan on the way out at Freo?

Perhaps I/we are getting caught up in our version of meaning and semantics. You can act individually AND still operate within a teams set of rules. We know that fairness is not sameness (ie: treating everyone exactly the same, contingent on their life context), and it takes a mature organisation to do that, whilst ensuring that the masses within the team who adhere to team rules are treated fairly () understand why said person is being treated differently (individually). God...hope that makes sense :) We could choose to contrast Dusty and his best mate for a while at Richmond (i think Dan OConnor??) who was sent packing fairly quickly, there no doubt, will be certain thresholds that need to be met whilst complying to cultural expectations. A bit of FIFO there (fit in or [censored] off) Ron's statement speaks volumes... As a 'manager' what is your threshold before you go... I can't be stuffed managing this bloke anymore and from a broader org perspective... what are the implications for everyone else, if we keep having to manage this blokes 'stuff' in the same way...and when do we cut and run. You can be an individual - because essentially everyone always is. Perhaps we are saying the same thing... Post script @Ohio USA - David - I thought I would add you in, as I respectfully disagree with the statement that there is no room for individualism. There is so much nuance in people that there needs to be room for it - as we are dealing with people... who inherently ARE individuals. It's about the thresholds of what is tolerable (from a cultural perspective). From a performance perspective, it also leverages each individuals 'strengths' to fit into your ideal team structure, whilst manipulating it slightly for person to person (which to me speaks of 'having room to incorporate individualism). I dunno.. maybe it's a simple as Do you compel people to fit your philosophy because YOU know best or Do you fit your philosophy to people, to help them be their best?
