Do you think the AFL would hesitate to change their standards, or single out one club, if it suits their purposes on any given day? That's how we got "probed" in the first place. If you are expecting some kind of fairness or consistency from the AFL, then you are destined for disappointment. But we're arguing in circles. The above is the very reason why we have to fight this.

We're on our own here. We can't say "but Carlton did it too!" That does not absolve us of anything. What's more, every other club is right now shredding documents and sending computers to the bottom of the harbour. Not to mention "'aving a word in your shell-like" of their Brock McLeans. We're the only ones who will get done over by this (if anyone is), and can expect no help or support from any other parties.

The AFL obviously make it all up as they go along. On every issue. They are also vindictive and arbitrary. Let's not stick our tail between our legs and encourage them.

Reminder: this is the AFL we're talking about. Consistency, fairness, etc ... are they even words?

It could easily be accomplished with a computer. And a computer could be set and programmed to accept factors from youth, health, sexual fertility, intelligence, and a cross section of necessary skills. Of course it would be absolutely vital that our top Demon men be included to foster and impart the required principles of leadership and tradition. Naturally, they would breed prodigiously. There would be much time, and little to do. But with the proper breeding techniques and a ratio of say, ten females to each male, I would guess that they could then work their way to the present Collingwood/Hawthorn supporter bases within say, twenty years. It is a sacrifice required for the future of the MFC. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.

You get guys like Frawley, who when they come to the club, show pretty much straight away what they've got, and keep giving it. Then there are guys like Nathan Jones, who start slowly but progress on a steady upward trajectory. Then there are ones like Bate & Morton, who show glimpses of talent but never put it together for any extended period. (Juice Newton. We've had a heap of these in recent years.) Regrettably, Sylvia is in the latter group. The leopard does not change its spots. If he hasn't put it together by now, he never will.

We did it to ourselves. We were gifted a free kick in front of goals, and put it out on the full.
