  1. He could have been as big as Gary Moorcroft, or Chris Heffernan, or Peter Vardy, or Byron Pickett, or Shannon Motlop, or any of the other import stars who brought us September glory.
  2. Oh, stop your bragging, od! I bet it was ruined already.
  3. "Win-win strategy"? Nightmare scenario for your experienced pessimist.
  4. Then why do it? It's misery porn. What possible benefit is there in raking over this ancient and unappealing history? Closed book. Look forward, not back.
  5. Last I heard, we didn't win it in 1990, or 1994, 1998, or any other year since 1964. It's all ancient history and irrelevant. Look forward, not back.
  6. Or! He's a arseh*le with a big mouth who lacks the self discipline to keep it shut!
  7. Works both ways. Judd locked up a huge chunk of salary cap which prevented them from getting other good players. Opportunity cost? But then Judd is a known good (great) player and brought hope, excitement, members and sponsors. All things we'd love to come to our club. In years to come, pub denizens will have many enjoyable hours arguing the rights and wrong of that trade.
  8. Yes, funny how some things can escape his ever watchful eye. Eddie, steward of the game ...
  9. Eddie's a f******* a******* and now that Malthouse is retired, is the biggest hypocrite in the game. " All of the above." Eddie's like a shrapnel bomb. When he goes off anyone or anything in the vicinity cops it.
  10. How long ago was that? About as long as when Jamar was AA. Is Jamar an automatic selection coz he was AA once?
  11. The drunken sot wouldn't be the only one. Connelly doesn't like him much either. They'll be queueing up to sink the boots in once his career has officially had the door slammed. Can't say I blame them. He's the biggest hypocrite in football.
  12. Some things I'd like to see. Carlton sack Malthouse but reinstate him the next day after legal threats. Carlton sack Malthouse and then ask him to sit on the panel that chooses the next coach. Steven Trigg and Eddie Bett's manager sue each other. Bruce Mathieson calls for a spill of the board and withdraws his pokies. Calrton tell MM this is his last match and then Carlton beat Sydney on Friday.
  13. Yep, they've mangled it. They should have said, Mick, that's it. We will let you go out with dignity, so you're coaching to the end of the season. But play the kids. Meanwhile we're going to go and find our next coach. But they've ballsed it up!!!!!!!!!! God I hope they give the Swans a run for their money this weekend.
  14. Can't feel too much sympathy for MM. He's one of the biggest c-nuts in the game. But Carlton ... why oh why did you hire this guy? He can coach, no doubt. But they thought in their folly that they were going to add him as the icing on the cake and land them a flag within 3 years. Malthouse doesn't do that. Didn't do it at the Dogs, at the Weagles, or the Pies. He takes around 3 years to mould the team to his "way" and then shoots for flags. They were at cross purposes from day one. What can they possibly gain from sacking him now that couldn't be achieved at the end of the year? Fetch the popcorn.
  15. Well, have you heard the way they talk about us? "... hopeless sense of composition ..." "... phrasing is clunky and his posts have little flow ..." "... don't even realise he was making a simile ..." "... couldn't spell if he ate a dictionary ..." Harsh, and quite hurtful if you're one of the targets.
  16. That's good! I'd love to hear a golfer saying something like that. "Oh, putting isn't that important. It's a waste of time even practising it." LOL! The whole point of the game is to kick goals and outscore the oppo.
  17. It's the sense of entitlement that gets me. Essendon have it too. They can all go hang.
  18. Yes, Vlad saw the writing on the wall and tried to minimise the collateral damage. (He's still a guitar pick.) Gil "the dealmaker" has actively participated in the PR campaign. "The players were duped ... ohhhh, let it go!!! .... hasn't this thing dragged on long enough????" etc. Even briefed the Ess players on the tribunal proceedings while the tribunal was in session!!!!!!!!! High risk high reward ... but if Dees2014 is right, all to no avail and with it due to come back and bite him in the behind. We'll all be shedding a tear for you, Gil.
  19. There was a chap on bigfooty some time back who seemed to have inside mail from the ACC. (The crime commission.) His line was that whether or not ASADA nail anyone, the ACC report will have to be tabled eventually in parliament, at which time the whole "supplements regime" will be laid out in all its glory and horror. Including the bits that ASADA weren't allowed to use.
  20. Yep, I wouldn't put it past them. But I would like to see WADA, with a straight face, accept the nomination, undergo their standard process for evaluating the candidate, deal with whatever paperwork is necessary, and then officially appoint the judge as a CAS arbitrator, the day after handing down their decision on the 34.
  21. It's the hypocrisy that I choke on. The 16 year old who lost her gold medal for taking a headache tablet? Tough [censored], kid. The Chinese swimmers who we wanted to tar, feather, hang, draw, quarter, run out of town on a rail, etc? Coz we're Aussies who love a fair go and we don't like cheats. But when Aussies do it! And an AFL team no less. No stone is left unturned to avoid the investigation, hamstring the investigation, discredit the investigation, discredit the investigators, mobilise the friendly media, on and on and on. Who was the cretin the other day who said we don't need WADA because Aussies don't cheat? Remember Warnie? (Although ... he's an Aussie, and by extension didn't cheat. He probably really did take that masking agent diuretic pill for his good looks.)
