  1. I think the broader issue is those failing to recognise that FTA TV is dead.
  2. Got a feeling they would have meant Oscar & Tom's distant cousin LUKE McDonald.
  3. But one has funny moments... and the other doesn't.
  4. EFA
  5. I would have thought that was pretty obvious: because we don't currently have better options for the role Oscar is playing. If Dunn and/or Garland were performing as expected, then I believe they'd be picked instead. Clearly this is related to obeying particular instructions as opposed to just pure overall performance, but overall I think he's doing just about as well as the other 2 have been recently.
  6. Clever of Clarko to quickly shift the focus from the Hawks players to the AFL in terms of fault for the high tackle frees. Keep playing for frees to get you over the line Hawks, that'll get you far...
  7. I don't mind Oscar getting games at the moment. I'd dearly love to have got the win, but I'm wholeheartedly unconvinced that Dunn or Garland would have done a better job, and OMac will be so much better next year for the experience he is getting this year. He needs to fill out, increase his core strength and make better quicker decisions, but he'll get there.
  8. Depends on what you call a "false dawn". We may not premiership material at this stage, but we have solid foundations and are a long way from the team of flat-track bullies with pretenders like McLean, Sylvia and Moloney steering the ship.
  9. Easily pleased?
  10. Out & out my favourite player. Get well Salo.
  11. Could have been out at boobs or steps
  12. Apparently his disposal coming out of the backline is made with pinpoint precision. Wonder how long it will be before they realise that only happens in 1 out of every 10 games, and the rest his disposal is below average for accuracy. Seeing him thread goals from the boundary last year made me laugh, as I knew it was pushing his value up despite being a rarety.
  13. To be fair, there are various degrees of "dominant" in my opinion. Dominant against an opponent in a match-up; dominant in winning contests against whichever opponent came up against him; dominant as far as being the single greatest influencer on the outcome of the match; ad nauseum...
  14. Roos is playing diplomat, and would certainly have more knowledge of the Essendon saga through his right-hand man Goodwin. Has anyone considered how Hurley would take it if Roos came out and sledged Essendon? He may eventually want to leave, but there will also be some part of him that loves that club. Roos going on the offensive won't help us in any way.
  15. I said "don't dismiss it out of hand." Nothing has changed. Obviously you get zero mail on anything, otherwise you'd understand how tenuous the veracity of it can be at times.
  16. Can't remember specifics, but I'm sure partyboy has runs on the board. I assume he has some good mail, but it is hit & miss. Don't dismiss it out of hand.
  17. I thought Ted ended up with a fractured cheekbone? Maybe not, I'm not sure...
  18. I love his story, and the fact he vindicated my seemingly illogical faith in his ability to be a solid contributor at AFL level, despite his lack of opportunity. I wonder if his being delisted made him more committed to and accepting of a role in the BP, when he was often found venturing further afield prior to that? Albeit, often played in positions further afield also, to my understanding.
  19. Cos he was crap and concussion was a convenient way of extending his pay day..?
  20. The most pedestrian 5 goal tally I've seen in a long time. That result is indicative of the damage that can be done when a team breaks through a defensive zone with quick precise disposal and gets out the back. It really shows where we sit in the pecking order defensively as a team - some sides like Gold Coast we will do it to, others will do it to us like the dogs did.
  21. Thanks Doctor Fence, but I'd be looking for a 2nd opinion...
  22. Short memory? You do realise Gawn wasn't tracking as well as Max King at the same age..?
  23. We beat Geelong last year doing it.
  24. True. Chris Scott brought in Lappin, Caracella, O'Bree and Troy Selwood. Clarko also brought over Fagan and Neitz. Wouldn't be surprised to see Ben Hart at the dees, and would welcome him. Maybe Bickley? Tyson Edwards? Even a Rutten.
  25. That may be, but "enabled" is more elegant.
