  1. Every action and movement he makes seems so stiff and robotic. He's like an awkward young ruckman, uncoordinated and looking like they'll trip over running laps... until finally about 3 years in they have found some touch and are much more comfortable with the movements and handling of the ball. Somehow this level of comfort has never come to Grimes. Plays like he's running on eggshells.
  2. I'd say the same about Brayshaw, and to me the more alarming thing is week-to-week selection. They may not play exactly the same role, but surely ANB has more runs on the board at this stage than Brayshaw? Even To me, a player who has been out of form is a better option than a player who is short of proper match fitness, physically or mentally.
  3. After 3 seasons, Roos hasn't turned a perennial bottom-dweller and merger-candidate into a Grand Final contender. Indefensible. Sack him.
  4. Agree. Alarmingly poor. I do think his injury has played a part in this, but it is also irrelevant - we have better options available until he recovers some form.
  5. It's important to differentiate the tough decisions from the downright stupid and negligent decisions.
  6. True to form nonsense by the OP.
  7. Rawlings is to blame? Didn't see that one coming.
  8. Glad he got his ton. Time's up.
  9. I can hear his price plummeting and Richmond getting spooked by the prospect of the big fish they need being an injury disaster... Probably still worth a risk for us at a reduced price.
  10. Great news. Could be more consistent, but very damaging when he is on. Now to work on others. Watts & McDonald are the next most important signings.
  11. Spencer as a mature body, but no flexibility. Mitch King & Max King developing. Nankervis himself isn't ready yet.
  12. Can't see how he'd fit our needs at all.
  13. Get Yze back.
  14. Not even worth asking, because he forms irrational attachments to all players.
  15. There is, yes. But I think he's the type of player that would get a deal done, if you really want to make this happen. Grimes and Dawes are not.
  16. I reckon a bloke still at the club did just this in the last 5 years... Father of a future captain.
  17. I still think cashing in on Dean Kent's currency isn't the worst idea. Far too inconsistent for my liking.
  18. Oh dear. Chris is a bit of a parrot unfortunately. Nothing to see here, move on everybody...
  19. Hard as a cat's head is the phrase often used about Hibberd. Hated him as an opposition player. My only slight concern would be one raised by Tim Watson this morning, that he had a quiet 2015 after opponents figured out he completely lacks a right boot so kept forcing him that way. He went on to say that he still remains firmly in the Essendon best 22, although I think that's a bit easier than getting into ours at the moment.
  20. Oh, the irony. Your seal of disapproval is comforting.
  21. Best of luck to them then. I won't lose any sleep on that one.
  22. The need to get wins is not strong because you get your jollies from pretending you're mates with the players. End of.
  23. Mate, come on... You can't be serious.
  24. So basically you don't have any sort of opinion, just blind faith in the football dept to select the best 22 and to vociferously argue against any perceived slight on a listed player. I think the young three are better than M Jones & Grimes. Either you're saying that's wrong because you think the opposite, or you're basically just objecting to someone having an opinion that isn't blind cheerleading. What is it? You think Grimes & M Jones are better than Brayshaw, Oliver & Salem? Or are you clutching your pom-poms?
  25. Nothing is guaranteed, but they are better players. What's your point? Or are you just blindly jumping to the defense of any MFC listed player as per usual? I thought you may have actually become apoplectic at the prospect of having to choose one over another.
