My understanding is that the Jack Dyer stand is heritage listed and would need to remain intact.

I think his type will be exceptionally valuable going forward, because it allows your ruckman to sit a kick behind the ball and not have to cover forward 50 ruck contests. It already was a valuable role, but allowing your ruckman to rest more on-field in the era of limited interchange rotations is gold.* Having said that, I think we'd be looking at Jenkins to fill the role we have Frost earmarked for, albeit probably a better option. If Jenkins came, it would make Frost surplus to requirements. * I think bigs (especially ruckmen) will be expected to find a way to rest on-field and survive with less rotations, while mids will still rotate as heavily as possible. Hogan and the McDonald brothers' endurance will become a greater strength, making Gawn's ability to cover ground key (or finding an alternative solution).

I guess there's a first time for everything, but I just can't see this ever happening...

I thought the same - Trengove is the only one that came close in my mind. But even he had a different sort of impact. It was clear he was comfortably an AFL player, but I'm not sure he had the positive influence on our overall performance that Oliver has had. -

About 4 mins in, final quarter. -
Was told recently by a club employee / acquaintance not to expect either Trengove or Petracca at AFL level until round 5-7 at the earliest as we wanted them to be bullet-proof before playing, but that could just be an attempt to manage expectations & lessen the hype.

I'd say that I've not seen you comment on it before, but even if I had, there's not much more to say... but in Dawes' case, he has shown sustained "form" in terms of hard hands, and there appears no end to his lack of confidence or acumen. Mental, yes. Entrenched, probably.

Who exactly has Matt Jones impressed..? -
The lack of up & coming commentating talent means that hopeless geriatrics like Macavaney, Commetti and Roberts have been around torturing us for far far too long. If fate hadn't intervened, we'd have been blessed with Clinton Grybas instead of one of these blokes. Roberts is by far the worst.

He has shown a clear pattern of self-deprecating humour. Is that humble? I guess so. Seems like a great kid who won't get carried away with himself. His hair & complexion will always bring him back down to earth.

Christian Petracca's toe injury (in full training)

You struggle with any positivity though, don't you? come on, embrace it. Petracca will be great, it's plain to see. -

I thought you only had to make sure you used 2 first round picks in a 4 year span. We filled that quota last draft period alone. -
He probably still has a hard-on for the MFC and has been looking for a way to get us.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY
Mach5 replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
Petracca is about 15cm taller than Kennedy, and I'd expect more of a Jake Stringer type HHF role for him. Kennedy will need to learn to play as more of a pure crumber to cement a spot. -
Yes, I am not fond of this news...

I shouldn't be surprised... but REALLY? -
Yes, opposition supporters are unlikely to acknowledge it, but he really was that good. Before the injuries, sadly. After that he became a mere mortal.

Have to be someone who's forgotten about Petracca too... -
So, by necessity almost, if Frost is to play, he plays as a forward/2nd ruck. (As opposed to defender/2nd ruck)
