This post deserves a comment . Absolutely fantastic you have articulated it so well . Whether we play good ..bad or just plain ugly ..it is OUR team & I LOVE it !
  2. So I guess you’ll only be convinced if we finish top at the end of the season & then go onto win the flag 🤔
  3. Think you’ve taken that remark out of context. I read it as ..yes we didn’t win but there is always next year ..meaning we get another opportunity..it’s not like we lost & there’s no tomorrow. I also gleaned from that podcast that yes.. the players absolutely know what is being said about the team & thankfully have a far more positive attitude than a lot of our posters .
  4. Absolutely agree. There’s a great podcast ..Dyl & friends where he speaks to Petracca. Fantastic listen & a good insight into his feelings on our”forward's” & also the team ..early exit from finals etc. Some of our more “pessimistic “ supporters would do well to listen !
  5. finally a sensible post …
  6. Pretty much every new player we have bought into our club (not the young draftees) have said our training standards & fitness are elite. Even Grundy alluded to it so whilst they might be fit.. they’re not “Melbourne “ fit.
  7. Not sure of the correlation between club sport or chastising your child equates to AFL at the elite level and at the pointy end of the season 🤨
  8. 2nd Melb preseason..you never know.. so let’s see how much he’s improved before we write him off. Lot of water /training etc has gone “under the bridge” since season 2023
  9. You have completed misread my posts (as you are prone to do). The inference was we should have looked for a mature aged ruckman & hadn’t done that. My point was they would have done their due diligence on whoever was available & in the end Fullerton was the best available (in the club’s opinion ).
  10. That’s your opinion & taken into consideration he did retire …my opinion is that “ he wasn’t quite up to it”. Not sure that if there was so much “genuine” interest by different clubs & us..he either didn’t get an offer or the club (s) knew his knees weren’t up to it. Hardly think we’d need another older player with dodgy knees.
  11. So Melb did their due diligence & chose not to go down that path ..🤔
  12. Is this the PA Scott Lycett whose 2023 season was wrecked with knee injuries forcing him to hang up his boots at the end of the season or is there another one ?
  13. Interested who the experienced ruck back up that was available in the draft that we didn’t look at ?
  14. I’m assuming you mean BB & TMac. If so (& I’m sure this has been said ad nauseum) they are premiership players & deserve to see out their contacts & more importantly for the club to honour them. I still think the JMac decision all those years ago broke our club at the time …
  15. Maybe because our preseason is effectively a week shorter ?
  16. Which I think was my point & in both seasons we had massive disruptions to personnel in our forward line. Looks like we have addressed the personnel situation..just need them to fire
  17. I really can’t understand these incredibly negative opinions. We only needed to score one more goal a game last season & we go to one of the top forward lines. A few tweaks to our forward delivery & more importantly keeping our forwards on the ground will make a massive difference to our team. Get consistency on the scoreboard & that will impact our whole team dynamic. Name one team we haven’t matched it with & have lost for any other reason than because of our “much publicised forward deficiencies”.
  18. He basically detailed how 2 knee surgeries detailed his season in 2022 & then in 2023 the thyroid condition which led to (he believes) his knee surgery (a bit of cartilage chipped off due to the knee being weakened from lying on the couch for a month). Never got back his fitness. The thyroid issue sounded awful. This season already did an intense training session overseas with a lot of different athletes etc and feels he has that “zip” back. The last time he felt like this was in 2021. He sounded extremely positive.
  19. Interesting comment …I certainly knew as did friends who live in Lorne and went along. Can’t quite remember where I read/heard it but was on a social media format. Maybe on the Members forum where all the “heirarchy “ spoke ?
  20. A 3rd son for Brad. Great to see him look so happy . Surely some future Dees players 🤔
  21. Agree with all that but (personally) never had great confidence in her this season. Will be a very interesting draft …I am sure they are cognitive of the same issues you have mentioned..
  22. I’m quite happy with the moving on of Libby Birch. Thought she was shown up by the big strong forwards especially against North in the finals. Just undersized. Ironically that’s where she’s heading …
  23. I thoroughly enjoyed his comments & at HIS B&F he is entitled to say what he felt & if you think we all have to be so politically correct… then maybe get over yourself. It’s supposed supporters like you who make such a big deal out of it.
  24. Collingwood has used that mantra successfully for a very long time. It’s always been if you don’t “love them ..you hate them”. & it’s worked . You can see the adrenaline and never say die attitude the players have when they play in front of their rabid crowd. That’s why we have to grow our supporter base & as Kate Roffey said “ become obnoxious supporters..not collingwood obnoxious but loud & proud!
