  1. Geelong last season had the luxury of very few injuries. You can bet they won’t be doing it this season. Hawkins was absolutely not fit at the beginning of the season but in their opinion they would play him into fitness. Maxy has missed 5 games …he could need 5 games to get back to full game fitness. This season they certainly are looking after injured players but no-one this early needs to be managed. We need consistency…
  2. What ā€œ seniorsā€ were you thinking of. Max..May..Hibberd..Viney..Lever..Fritch from the current team have all missed games due to injury & need to keep playing & I def wouldn’t put Oliver & Trac in the ā€œseniorsā€ category?
  3. Melb 3rd on the list with games lost through injury..934. Brisbane …1 game lost
  4. After 5 rounds Melb is the 3rd highest team hit with injuries 934 behind WC & Swans. In contrast Bris has 1 game & Adelaide 0…
  5. You’re arguing on statistics …players aren’t robots. I’ve looked at results from all teams this season & maybe you can give me the reasons why we’ve had 3 50 plus point wins against teams who have gone onto record great wins or against sides that on form against us ..they would probably lose. The biggest reason we lost on the weekend was we came up against 2 ruckmen…one who is massive in Phillips & then a very talented Draper & we had a Grundy who is still not at optimal fitness & no real 2nd ruckman. So this was a game where it showed us how important Max is & also Lever. Yes they didn’t have Wright but apart from him (& he’s been out all season)..they’re very settled. Due to injuries we haven’t really had a settled forward or back line. We’re a great team but no team is that good that you can win all the time with the team that we can put up. We just didn’t have the right team this week due to who we had out. Simple as that. You have to pay respect to Scott & ESS who capitalised on that. Throw in a lot of different intangibles…I can understand the loss.
  6. Maybe Viney …looked pretty sore …
  7. So we win a premiership…we finish 2nd the following season & this year we’re premiership favourites with Collingwood …& we have one average game & it’s incredible the ā€œteeth gnashing ā€œ that goes on. I was at the game & I could tell in the first 5 mins ..we just weren’t on. It felt like a 10 goal loss but like all good teams even with nothing going right they pull the margin back. The comp gets harder & closer every year ..5% off..some key players out..some key players injured during the game … travel etc …can all impact a game. It’s 5 rounds in & I believe 18 games to go …let’s take a deep breath
  8. Always great to read some positivity..
  9. Not sure how it comes across on the tv but at the ground the team and the way they are playing is unrecognisable. Just every aspect of our game is appalling . To simplify it..every single thing for them is going right & everything for us is going wrong
  10. Absolutely disagree with that assessment…but agree that we are being thrashed aerially ..in fact ..everywhere…
  11. I must be at a different ground šŸ˜
  12. Might have changed your mind ..windy ..a bit of rain & no BB šŸ¤”
  13. Well the 4 of us will leave after the Melb game & I assume others will especially if wet so there’ll def be empty seats at both games. Looks like our game will hopefully start in dryish weather
  14. It’s overcast & very windy at the moment ..should be like playing at Casey …
  15. I knew about it Dec 2022 & 4 of us made the decision to drive & booked our accommodation pre xmas. That’s how early the round dates were announced
  16. True …so I’ll watch the Dees & def won’t hang around to watch Port
  17. Hmmm …a very simplistic view. I’m all in favour of trying new ideas to grow the game & kudos to the AFL for trying and the clubs embracing it. SA along with most of Australia & indeed the world are suffering from the after effects of COVID along with the other problems that normally affect us …floods..fire etc. if this puts the spotlight on SA .. grows their tourism & brings $ into the state …good on them. Hopefully the flow on effect on juniors playing footy will also improve with the exposure there will be to footy this weekend as I believe SA is struggling a bit in this area. Let’s see how it goes before we make ā€œgrandstandingā€ statements..
  18. Well I’ll be there for the Melb v ESS game ..I’ll let you know šŸ¤”
  19. He looked like a player who missed 2 weeks through suspension & therefore a bit of gameday form. As the game progressed so did his touch.
  20. TMac went back to Two’s for poor form. BB was playing well ..an injury ..
  21. He’s managing Achilles tenderness
  22. Maybe we worry about Salem when he’s ready to return …
  23. Where did it state 8 years ? Interested because I’ve read that there was some old stuff a few years ago but some of this is relatively new ..
  24. Give due where it’s due . Bris absolutely deserved the win. No ruckman caused problems for the Pies ..when you have to use McStay..Johnson or Frampton in the ruck then it leaves them vulnerable in those areas. They’re a good team the Pies but they are vulnerable like most teams when key players are missing..
