  1. Grundy was great
ranked 5th highest player on the ground & nearly every tap in the last 12 mins went to our players. He’s missed nearly a year of football ..is playing with a new team & a new game plan & you expect perfection. He wasn’t the problem. Losing Max is literally losing 5 players .. next week we know he won’t play & Will structure accordingly. Put Gawn & then no May..Kozzie..Salem an underdone & probably very upset Viney ..it was a hard ask. They fought it out & if you’re a premiership aspirant like the Lions ..,you don’t take your foot of the pedal at any stage
  2. Oliver ranked best on ground

  3. We all get upset ..I get that. But we are by no means perfect
& we showed in 12 mins what we are capable of ..still. Grundy got better & will improve a lot quicker in Max’s absence ..Fritta started to work his way into the game. I just don’t get how as supporters we tip bucketloads on the players and predict doom & gloom 2 games in

  4. Well you’re embarrassing 😳
  5. He’s done 2 so surely would have an idea
  6. And also a big smile . I’d take a 100 point loss if his injury isn’t serious
  7. Agreed
Grundy has def had the better of Oscar
a lot of our players are flat
as I am seeing Gawn but let’s see how they come out after half time before some very average comments from so called Melb supporters

Don’t agree with this summation at all. Hawks were lucky with the draft and the fact that new teams came in and other teams didn’t have access to draft picks. Richmond was def favoured by early Covid season ..reduced games etc . Brisbane didn’t play in an 18 team comp. Melb has I believe a generational team & is def capable of winning a few but not necessarily back to back . However this is the type of team you have to have to pull off that feat. Geelong were so favoured last year that we were not capable for various reasons to win it.
  9. Shame for Salem and us. Thank goodness we can allow him to get to full fitness and there is no pressure to rush him back

  10. Are we/they happy with Mitch Robinson’s comments on SEN about the Petty/Zorko incident?
  11. i guess the only people are know the exact nature of May's injury are the High Performance team. There is no way they would play him if they were not confident.
  12. Actually I’d like us to appeal & get it down to one
same as Franklin. Franklin had gone past the player & chose to hit . Worse I would have thought đŸ€”
  13. Absolutely agree with Goody but you learn to temper your aggression & bump legally
  14. As much as I hate it
I’d take 2 as well. My reasoning is play under as much adversity at the start of the season ..can only hold us in good stead for the back end. Kozzie will learn to pull back a bit & as a club we learn to deal with best 22 players missing & testing our depth .

Weideman generally played well for us against the Hawks. Happy for him ..with Wright out he will play every week
  16. Watched it on replay just to hear Jake Lever on otherwise a “joke” of a show. Two interesting points from Jake I noted
1st in his After game interview..” we didn’t really enjoy our wins last year especially during the first half of the season “ & 2nd point on Sunday footy show “ last seasons wins
we weren’t really playing our best footy “. Paraphrasing a bit but as a supporter I felt exactly the same last year. This win was back to 2021 excitement.
  17. i think we can all safely say that our new recruits ran rings round Baker. Nothing against him personally but his form and disposal at VfL level never stood up at AFL level and he had plenty of opportunities. I wish him & Weideman all the best at their new clubs but they added nothing to ours.
  18. Not sure it was head ? More chest area

    Tom Stewart
huge loss. Can’t stand Cox ..
  20. You put it far more eloquently than I but a perfect summary

  21. Again I go back to TMac’s comment that ANB & Spargo play the most important roles in the team. There is def no like for like in our reserves .
  22. Obviously the MFC coaching panel have seen plenty that you haven’t seen. It’s not necessarily the best of our depth players that get’s picked rather the best for team balance.
  23. We have heard from several different players during pre-season that they will be playing (at times) diff positions. Clarry in the Tigers game played a little at half back. The thinking behind this is of great value especially “in game” that if a player goes down
multiple players can shift around & cover an injured player. This will be tested on Sat night
we will have 22 fit ..hungry players who if they play their roles we will win. The bulldogs have their own injury problems & their so called “tall 4 “ are just as unproven as the Grundy/ Gawn combo although I have a lot more confidence in our combo.
  24. So how do you think they’ll set up with our forwards given that both Gawn & Grundy will be in there at times ? Temptation would be to maybe throw Darcy back there . Horses for courses I think đŸ€”
  25. Interesting listening to Grundy being interviewed & he gave BBrown a huge wrap
