  1. I think I put in brackets (in private). I am absolutely aware of what has happened/happening with the Bont in particular …but he/his camp haven’t aired their grievances publicly…
  2. I have no doubt Trac has expressed his feelings to the club ..in fact Goody referenced it but it’s more how him/his team have played this out. He would absolutely know that as 29 yrs old ..his contract etc …the only teams with currency are not be going to win a premiership in the next couple of years. As I said I’d personally be very happy to take the draft picks & add to our young talent…he might not be happy but I’m not overly happy with him. Instead of the first default action where it’s always the MFC’s fault..maybe Gawn and others aren’t overly happy with how Trac’s handled/engineered this. A player is the sum of the club & its supporters ..no player should be bigger than the club & when all is said & done…MFC will continue to be our club of choice. I’m more unhappy about losing ANB …
  3. Cannot believe the angst and vitriol being posted on here over basically unsubstantiated rumours by “click bait” journalists. I for one haven’t been overly happy with Trac’s social media etc since the injury. He’s made many a comment on “ his interests” outside of footy but has never been overly complimentary about the MFC. Players of his ilk as in Cripps (no premierships) & Bont (1 premiership) who have literally carried their team (aka Gawnie) never criticise their club (in public). I absolutely get the severity of the injury and all that and obviously understand that there would be unhappy players etc etc .. but to be honest if a club came and offered 2 first round picks I’d be happy. He loves the limelight ..loves the big crowds & to be honest we’re not going to give him that. I wish the carry on here translated to supporters showing up and actually supporting their team at the ground !!
  4. Clarry played under duress & the rib injury would have been the final straw. Clarry was still better than anyone else we had and one of the main reasons the club kept playing him would have been for his mental health. Can you really imagine how he would have been in rehab for half the season. Don’t criticise the club as you have no idea of how the club & the player worked together to get him to where he was.
  5. Quite stupid comments…no team has the luxury of resting the many players that are running round with injuries. 2 come to mind in DeGoey & Curnow & then ..bringing Todd Marshall back ..Alex Pearce etc …the list goes on.
  6. Considering the rib injury would have been the hit from Sweet …so yes very painful FOR HIM
  7. Shame …your lack of perceptron is staggering. A person (def not a genuine supporter) whose mind is set one way & doesn’t want anything to sway it. ☹️
  8. Yep …comes out whenever there’s stuff going on …never says much when things are good …
  9. If someone can pull up a post ..quote a statement that Trac has actually said/posted any of the comments alluded too …then basically it actually is “gossip & inuendo”. ?
  10. 😳
  11. Then where was the criticism for playing DeGoey who was clearly injured… they got the win for Pendles 400 & DeGoey gets a 3 month injury. Or Carlton playing Curnow who has been struggling with an ankle…reinjures it again & now could miss the rest of the season.
  12. This is the Tom Morris who was kicked out of the AFL & associated gigs for his incredibly sexist and inappropriate comments regarding women. He was rightly reviled & criticised. He gets another chance and reverts straight back to his muck raking reporting and we now have 14 odd pages on an article he wrote. If someone can post something he has got right ..then please let me know. Same for Cornes…Kozzy was gone to Port..Petty to Adelaide…I guess if they throw enough wild theories out there…they might just get lucky ..?
  13. Gee you have to wonder how Cripps..Bont …Merrett handle what their clubs are going through. When your season doesn’t go to plan …inevitably the witch hunt begins. I am the optimistic supporter but not stupid enough to think change isn’t needed. I also refuse to deal in rumour & innuendo …I believe most of the players we want signed are resigned so will hold fire until an official statement comes out from the club saying certain players want to leave.
  14. True.. was at the game.. I would say that even a Windsor would have got us over the line .,
  15. I believe we had 16,000 GWS and just under 18,000 tonight. Great game…couldn’t fault our endeavour. Our supporters are renowned for coming out of the “woodwork”… if we were contenders …would have been heaps more !! End of the day ..glad I went …
  16. I think I’d be somewhat disappointed if you ever posted something positive…always good for a laugh though
  17. Just so embarrassing 😳. Also re Jeffo ..instructions are another 5kg but club pleased with progress. We won’t see him this year. Just another reason you have NFI !!
  18. You choose to follow a team ..pay your membership if you can but that doesn’t guarantee you a win every week. Of course there’s genuine reasons supporters can’t attend but I bet for every 1 of those there’s probably at least 10 who are probably typing vitriol on their keyboards & ranting at coach & players rather than braving the cold/timeslot etc to attend. We had a coach who was in hospital most of the week and went back to hospital..players that are obviously not 100% (& I know not just our club) drag themselves to the game for us as supporters but there’s an awful element of “supporters” (& I use the term lightly) on this forum who seem to take more delight in a loss rather than a win. That crowd size last night was unacceptable for a club with a membership over 60,000
  19. As he actually was/is pretty sick ..excuse me if I don’t appreciate the humour…
  20. Apparently Goody pretty sick ?
  21. I was at the footy a couple of weeks ago & was chatting to a few guys I see now & then at Melb games. One made a comment to me “have you ever read a forum called Demonland , it’s great for a laugh especially after a loss.” So true …the OTT comments after a loss & the vitriol against coach & certain players is downright embarrassing. I’m all for understanding the emotion during the game day thread (never read it) but when that’s died down …quite unbelievable. Now I’ve read your post ..understand completely where they were coming from …laughable/embarrassing..pick your adjective
  22. Only just able to listen to podcast …I think the “rant” was very measured & absolutely brilliant. Nothing more to be said but ..thanks.
  23. You obviously haven’t read articles or listened to discussions (not Binman’s) where the High Performance teams are arguably one of the most important factors. It’s not rocket science that you have to keep the performance levels of teams..players to a level that has them “cherry ripe” for finals but the challenge this year is there’s been an extra game ,,,5 day breaks ..some teams with 2 byes etc. Players would also have their own personal programs ..,goals etc. This year has had more anomalies in terms of scoring ..results..upsets that I can remember..so good luck trying to work out all that & also when “other teams “ are loading. Whether you want to acknowledge this or not football is a science ..we only see the obvious things but it’s what we don’t know & shouldn’t know.. is quite simply what goes on between those four walls.
  24. Sour & silly comment. It was a great win missing 2 of our greatest players and a team effort executed very well. The disrespect you show our premiership coach is unbelievable. Did you actually notice last night how “tall forward lines” weren’t effective. No-one picked us ..the odds were against us and yet we won . Maybe just enjoy the win & leave the sniping out of it …
