  1. Maybe we just trust our fitness team 🤔
  2. I was actually at the game, Pies were great in first qrt ..Eagles were one man on bench from first qrt & then inevitably were run over in the last ..they were done. Pies looked very average in a good half of a game so I just wonder if they’re feeling the pinch a bit. But don’t get too carried away by that last qrt.
  3. I bang on about their unfair advantage every year. Less travel …more MCG games ..more prime time games ..the bottom line is the AFL is all about the $. It’s hard for teams to get more exposure & attract more members when the AFL favours the “big 4”
  4. And why is that …maybe a good test of our depth ..
  5. The one thing you don’t acknowledge is when you bring in a VFL player he is then surrounded by AFL players . Then you can judge them …
  6. I actually think Kozzie had been a shadow of himself since that report.
  7. In fairness to FTB ..old dee didn’t mention the above reasons he talked about not being able to “rock up” …
  8. I’m thinking Oliver ..Trac..Viney..cameos from Brayshaw.. Rivers..Kozzie & then the Gawn & Grundy combo will be giving them plenty of headaches. We are building so much flexibility into our gameday team that we are becoming very unpredictable & hard to play against. A lot of our players can be swung anywhere if needed. As every footy fan knows ..if you don’t bring your A game even the best teams are in trouble & that would be the only reason we don’t win quite comfortably tonight
  9. I actually dislike Friday night games ..heaps of intoxicated people ..late to get home & usually dewy surfaces. Happy with the Sunday 3.20 slot which is a premium time now ..,
  10. So possibly Dixon & def Todd Marshall out for them ?
  11. Petty out 4 to 6 ..,
  12. It was in a pack with several players around the ball. Someone def stood on his ankle/foot ..not sure who ..
  13. You can only play who you're scheduled to play so I guess no use making comparisons until we play these teams. However it would be nice to play Geelong and Port at the G rather than at their grounds which of course Collingwood has the luxury of. In fact they get Geelong twice at the G. Oh and wouldn't mind their travel schedule as well...
  14. Pretty sure someone stood on his foot. Hopefully not the Fritch injury …
  15. I found that so annoying..we weren’t lucky to win. We led for the entire match after the first few seconds and would have been unlucky to lose ..
  16. Was about to post similar comments. Not a particularly good work ethic ..is a sentiment expressed by the Pies supporters I know …
  17. Hope he’s picked otherwise it’s another week he doesn’t play a match. He’ll take awhile to pick up the pace of the game but a good game to start with
  18. Just with your Jordan comment..is there anyone in the team that if dropped ...the decision would be harsh. We have incredible depth & our injury situation is pretty good so I for one would find it hard to be on selection committee. It probably comes up to match ups on the day …
  19. Should have put the game away in the first qrt. Bigger ..experienced players were better in the wet . Adelaide is def a team on the up & let’s see how the Pies go for a long season playing at this level. The one quantity you can’t fault the Pies for & I have to acknowledge is they have always fought to the bitter end & they have enormous belief in each other. They also have a team with a lot of very experienced players ,
  20. Geelong last season had the luxury of very few injuries. You can bet they won’t be doing it this season. Hawkins was absolutely not fit at the beginning of the season but in their opinion they would play him into fitness. Maxy has missed 5 games …he could need 5 games to get back to full game fitness. This season they certainly are looking after injured players but no-one this early needs to be managed. We need consistency…
  21. What “ seniors” were you thinking of. Max..May..Hibberd..Viney..Lever..Fritch from the current team have all missed games due to injury & need to keep playing & I def wouldn’t put Oliver & Trac in the “seniors” category?
  22. Melb 3rd on the list with games lost through injury..934. Brisbane …1 game lost
  23. After 5 rounds Melb is the 3rd highest team hit with injuries 934 behind WC & Swans. In contrast Bris has 1 game & Adelaide 0…
  24. You’re arguing on statistics …players aren’t robots. I’ve looked at results from all teams this season & maybe you can give me the reasons why we’ve had 3 50 plus point wins against teams who have gone onto record great wins or against sides that on form against us ..they would probably lose. The biggest reason we lost on the weekend was we came up against 2 ruckmen…one who is massive in Phillips & then a very talented Draper & we had a Grundy who is still not at optimal fitness & no real 2nd ruckman. So this was a game where it showed us how important Max is & also Lever. Yes they didn’t have Wright but apart from him (& he’s been out all season)..they’re very settled. Due to injuries we haven’t really had a settled forward or back line. We’re a great team but no team is that good that you can win all the time with the team that we can put up. We just didn’t have the right team this week due to who we had out. Simple as that. You have to pay respect to Scott & ESS who capitalised on that. Throw in a lot of different intangibles…I can understand the loss.
