  1. Wow …love this post …I’m sure eventually you’ll be worn down by the continuous negativity and sniping by the vast majority of posters but until you do …I’ll enjoy your posts !
  2. Instead of these emotional uninformed posts maybe listen to our captain who describes the type of role Clarry has been playing for the club ..a very unselfish role that will change because of Trac’s unavailability…before you post such rubbish…
  3. Against a bunch of kids. ?? …our age profile tonight was exactly the same as North except they have heaps of top end young talent & effectively we were missing 2 top midfielders in Trac & Brayshaw ( I count Brayshaw as a miss because we lost him as the season started.) & also Lever who solidifies our backline. So …maybe have a good look at our team & realise how young it is . Not many teams would be running out with an 18yr old & 2 19yr olds’s .., we are incredibly down on confidence but we are hanging in there. Tell me how many forward lines ..even half forward lines have one player over 24 yrs ??
  4. Is it possible to just laud another player without denigrating one of ours ?
  5. Ethan ..the young guy who had the heart transplant & who was the story behind our Narm jumper
  6. He was holding his second son Louis who is 5 months old. He’s very big !!
  7. I know this is not really the place to post this but didn’t want to start a new topic. However there is a very great read about Clayton Oliver in the HS today …very insightful. It’s fantastic to have some positivity for him & the club in the media. We don’t get a lot of it.
  8. Not sure if this is why but on TMac’s excellent interview with Cornes & Buckley he said that we do more “high impact” running rather than long distance so this probably gives us an edge when moving the ball & also “holding the ball” decisions …
  9. Pretty sure at the end of Round 8 JVR was 1st in the league for contested marks & Fritch was 3rd. Petty 14th but that will def improve
  10. Absolutely brilliant writing …enjoyed that summation !!
  11. People just need to hear Eddie Betts & even Jack Riewoldt describe the degree of skill & execution in that kick & goal ..not one suggestion it wasn’t deliberately executed…
  12. BBB..Hore & Billing’s were doing their km’s on the ground after the game last night so they may not play today & be held over as emergencies / possible inclusions for next week. The team would have trained up for this stretch of games so I think if any change maybe just Bowey straight in
  13. Not sure I disagreed with any of the sentiments you expressed (except the Maynard incident & we can agree to disagree) My position is “in my opinion” I felt the incident should have been graded on the lower side..meriting a fine. In no way do I disagree with the new rulings but I am very happy the club is challenging the “penalty” of the ruling.
  14. I just find it unbelievable to be comparing Kozzy with the action of Maynard. About the only similar thing is the word “smother”. There was a stat (I think the Richmond game where it was 10 smothers ! & they were lauding this ) in nearly every case where you attempt to smother the ball ..your feet leave the ground. His intention was to smother the ball & it absolutely should be graded low impact .
  15. Firstly absolutely love the podcast & the effort you all put in. I’m more the “Binman” type of supporter but thoroughly enjoy Andy’s MFCSS & George’s insights & articulations. My observations on both games in Adelaide .. we go into PA game with best “available “ team & found a way to win even though we weren’t at our optimum. I find these wins so satisfying because I know our best is yet to come. We hit the 2nd game with some sore & tired bodies against a fired up crowd & opponent. Again we find a way to win ..I felt we needed a buffer at 3/4 time because we would tire in the last. Adelaide may not have the quality but they bought in six new young sets of legs & we all know they are Burgess fit. I don’t echo the sentiments of bad kicking ..there were reasons ..BBB would never have been pencilled in for that much footy but he still put his body in for a target. Again what I’ve loved about these wins is the ways we’ve found to win. Will hold us in such good stead & give us so much to draw on & the season unfolds ..(now I’m off to do the 5 star review …finally)
  16. I agree with Goody’s assessment. He loves the ruck & it gets him in and around the game. I get that he’s young but he’s solidly built and an aggressive type of player. He doesn’t spend a lot of time in the ruck so I’m happy with this solution to our ruck issues at the moment.
  17. They won so many games by single digits last year. Where does their improvement come from this season ..old players get older & with such a close competition you only have to be a 1% off & you lose. They are def more than a 1% off. For all those posters that moan about Goodie’s press conferences…do yourself a favour & listen to “the Priest”… at the moment. Not really sure how to describe them 🤔
  18. It is was pretty loud which was great but I was also at the Collingwood match & the level of noise (especially in the early part of the game) is at a whole new level. You can see how the umps get sucked in . I believe that even though the Swans absolutely crushed them ..I’m pretty sure the Pies won the free kick count .
  19. I also heard Bevo say that he didn’t think any of the wingers for both teams had a big impact in the game today which I agree with. I also agree with all you said re Langers.
  20. Well said …(even though it will fall on deaf ears) today at the G was like watching a game from dare I say it..2021. Often with our wins over the last couple of seasons they weren’t satisfying or exhilarating..today was. As our new game plan becomes more entrenched & connections are built with new players in new positions…we will play better. There will be hiccups along the way but I loved what I saw. I was so proud of our supporters who gave Clarry a standing ovation…we’re back in the 8 !!
  21. Fantasy ..get offered a free flight to Syd to stay with family member. No ticket to game but go along to the open session to see players. Find out can get reciprocal rights with MCC membership but have to queue from 5pm & hope for the best . Half an hour ago get call from a players parents who can’t make the game and want to know if a ticket is required. Reality.. will now be sitting with the players families tomorrow night. How envious am I but super excited for another Dees supporter to be there
  22. Agreed ..every time they mention the club or a player they highlight every incident over the years. Elijah Hollands now at Carlton is missing the first 2 weeks for an AFL suspension for being caught with coke at the casino in QLD. Never mentioned !!
  23. I was out last night & one of the speakers was Brad Scott. Of course the first question Caro asks him was about culture at clubs & cited MFC & all our “off field dramas”. He answered it very well saying culture is literally a day by day thing. You work on it every day ..he has some extremely talented players who don’t necessarily embody the right “culture” so they have to work on it. He then said he would never criticise Melb & he heard Max Gawn (who he said is an icon incredibly talented..exceptional etc) & Max said “Melb has a great culture (paraphrasing). He then left it at that. That kept Caro quiet. The other point he made very clearly is that unless you are inside the club no one has really any idea what is happening. So my long winded point is ..we have to trust everybody around Clarry to make the right decisions. We simply don’t know all the facts & that is fine by me.
  24. This is the trouble ..we boycott the game ..what does that achieve. We need to support & cheer for our team ..staying at home helps Collingwood..we don’t need to be a Collingwood type of supporter but surely you can be a loud & proud Dees supporter!!
  25. Yze ?? You obviously follow the team closely 🧐
