  1. Thanks for posting that . Our CEO makes it very clear that Steven King was the man they wanted & gave the reasons why. So basically we don’t need to wonder about Buckley ..the media and all “their reasons”. Our club has in their words “got their man”.
  2. Don’t miss the 57% efficiency..miss the locker influence though
  3. Why on earth would Buckley go through the whole interview process & then um & ah ? He had known about TAS for a long time ..,he wanted to coach Melb but the club followed due process & appointed King. End of story . All the click bait journalists etc can spin their own narrative ..,who cares..let’s just acknowledge & support our club & coach. I’m very happy
  4. The points I took from watching last night were : Goody was acknowledged by every person who spoke and in glowing terms (well deserved). Every player who spoke on stage & some in other interviews acknowledged the disappointing season but were very positive about what’s to come. Spoke glowingly of the love they have for the club & their teammates. Gawn when acknowledging the supporter group & fans said (paraphrasing) how it’s a shame they don’t see inside the four walls as they are an extremely well connected group. He also mentioned players receiving accolades for games played & said we don’t lose many players ..they want to stay. One interesting comment ..I’m not sure if it was Richo or Chappy but when talking about changes he said “Paul wanted a new coach”. Not the “board decided on a new coach”. Looked like a great night & good to see only Chandler & Spargo having some surgeries.
  5. Hmmm …playing the oldest team …how’d that going ?
  6. Thanks so much Andy ..Binman & George. Have always enjoyed your podcasts ..Andy your MFCSS is quite humorous ..never nasty or vitriolic & appreciate enormously the effort you all put in to produce this podcast. Binman the work you put into the stats and analysis is incredible & helps make sense of what happened in the game. You all must have been “sucked dry” by the end of your last home & away podcast as it had become a bit of a “Dear Dorothy” unload my woes questions by D’Landers. However your podcast has often been a shining light in this disappointing season. Enjoy some well earned time away & look forward to hearing you & hopefully George, now & then in the months ahead.
  7. Actually he said the same word to the same player last year ..Pies went to Adelaide ..left at that. He again said the same word to the same player in their first game this year. The above occurred. In this 2nd game he again said the same word to the same player & this time the Pies informed Adelaide & the AFL. Rankin was told on the field to “pull his head in” by Thilthorpe. Not sure what it all means in the wash up but have no sympathy with Rankin. The delicious conundrum if the pies beat the crows ..Rankin could possibly play in a GF ..if they lose ..so does Rankin . BTW the above occurred..
  8. Firstly were you there?? We played a team which apart from Bobby Hill was full strength playing for their lives. I’ll stand by my belief that if Goodwin was coaching we would have won the last 3 which would have made it harder to sack him. Max was Herculean & we lost it ..they didn’t win it . A bit of inexperience ..skills at crucial times was the difference. Faaaark I hate our arrogant pathetic supporters who whinge & moan & don’t really watch our team. I leave 2025 with some belief for 2026 ..So for all those supporters who didn’t bother to turn up you missed a great game where players from both sides left nothing on the field ..so gutted with the result but proud of the boys …so g wallow in your misery !!
  9. One club around 100,000 members & the other around 80,000…surely you jest ?
  10. A massive thank you Ghostwriter. Your comments come from a great place ..your heart. I love & appreciate the personal comments & interactions you have with the players because we get to see them as people not just players. Demonland has become a vitriolic and unwelcoming forum which I visit less and less. The one topic I do read is the Training Reports . So thank you to you ., Wallbanger ..Kev & any others who put in the effort to deliver these reports . Go Dees in 2026 ❤️💙.
  11. Really ..I’m going in the hope of a win but also because it’s my team & they need us to support them… don’t they ? I’m a member & a supporter & I certainly don’t not go to games because we might get “slaughtered”.
  12. Fantastic game..have watched this team & been a member since inception. The growth is amazing & exciting. Should have opened the season with the Dees..they showcase the improvement of women’s football. It isn’t the men’s game ..it’s a different game but so exciting because we are now seeing the girls who have played since they’re 6 yrs old transitioning into experienced players. Shocking the timing of our game ..just impossible for me to go to MCG & then out to Mission Oval but the AFL is useless on most things unless you’re the big 4 in Victoria..but get behind our girls..you’re in for a great ride
  13. Amazing how we jump on all these click baiters as gospel . Basically they create a narrative because they have to compete with a complete over saturation of football diatribe & if you chose to believe that narrative because it aligns with your thoughts you accept it & if you don’t agree you disagree. Fact ..we had a coach who with the backing of a united board took us to a history making premiership, He then spent 4 or so years with a [censored] board ..no support .. dealt with incredible off field issues & then is flicked. Deserved at least the opportunity to see out his contract with a united board. I’ll always support the team but have no faith in the board . I’ll buy a membership (as well as my MCC) because that’s what you do ..but I absolutely will miss Goody . The worst decision is my lifetime was getting rid of James McDonald & Woewodin ..I pray it’s not a Goody …
  14. After watching Simon on AFL 360 … I hope to God the board made the right decision…whatever success that hopefully this team has ..his footprint is well & truly on it … Apart from the usual “click baiters” & the usual supporters …I’ve heard no-one saying we need a new coach. More talking about the lack of support he had during all the [censored] last few years of issue after issue he had to continually defend.
  15. I get trained by an ex Collingwood player who ..yes ..was under Buckley . Still has strong links with the club. I’ll be having a very interesting chat today. From memory I don’t think there were a lot of positives but I may be wrong as it is awhile ago. My partner is Collingwood & was happy to see Bucks go. Brilliant in the Media & whilst I don’t watch Footy shows anymore I enjoyed his analysis. I’d be happy if that’s where he stayed.
  16. Wow so Goody’s gone & you now attack a senior player a day after gut wrenching news. Do we just need to keep finding people to blame ?
  17. I agree … so much arrogance from a supporter base who assume that with the team we had we should have won multiple premierships. Fact is this just doesn’t happen. It took us 7 years under Simon to win our first & we were effectively 4 years into our next challenge & I honestly felt we were a year or two away from challenging for our next . Not sure now ..
  18. My sentiments have been put so eloquently by previous posters. I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed in the club as I was today. Goody should have seen out the season. As fans who love the club we will embrace change but I’m forever grateful that I saw some of the most exciting finals & a GF that will go down in history. Thanks Goody ❤️💙
  19. You’re quite shocked …pleeease. We have absolutely justified the wider football community calling our club a basket case because the way we have handled this is appalling. I was firmly in the camp of Goody seeing out the season but now we will be front & centre of the media in all facets for the wrong reasons. So now “ all us happy clappers” who continually have to justify our optimism can read all you “negative Nellie’s” justify your opinions next season. For a start we should have increased membership at the start of the season and of course huge crowds. One of the more ridiculous comments I have read. What about shocked ..gutted ..disrespected ? That makes sense
  20. That sounds good ..won a Premiership in his second year & then coached another 12 years with out another. I wonder how long it would be till you turned on him ? I could also throw in Simpson..Hinkley ..Beveridge ..
  21. Maybe because you wait till he’s ready ..
  22. Question: is there any correlation in the fact that we have maybe round a third of our list that is young & do not have AFL hardened bodies. We all know players need a few preseasons to build their bodies for the rigours of the game. Consequently we maybe don’t look as fit as other teams. Our senior players probably won’t get any fitter /faster (Max is the outlier) & we lack in the middle tier type of player. Also thank you for your positivity..I’m O/S & so missed game …looked a couple of times at D/L & retreated very quickly. Caveat: to all the negative Nellie’s ..I am asking a question…not making a statement of fact.
  23. The tenet of the topic is Time to go Goody with a question mark. To me that is asking a question. You & others think he should & others think he shouldn’t. So we are all answering the question with our opinions. Maybe if you didn’t constantly allude to the fact that anyone positive is either a “Happy Clapper” or a misguide fool we could have had a more balanced discussion.. ?
  24. Upheld
  25. Plus we re/sign arguably one of the best young players for 9 years ..says something about our club
