PODCAST: Trade Week Wrap
Loved the podcast ..not so much the pessimism from George but we can’t all be “Happy Clappers”. However it will be exciting to see what happens on draft night & also preseason. Also liked the format of summarising the questions & answering them as a whole. Hope that continues in the next year of podcasts.

The List Manager Tim Lamb
Very happy with the results . You could fill the previous forums with the criticism of Clarry ..Trac..Goodwin etc . Now we have a new coach …got rid of 2 former greats but not so great now players & bought in a whole raft of players that I am so excited to see what they bring. I’m saving any criticism till we!re well into next season. We got change in a huge way so put aside the negativity & let’s see what 2026 brings ..Go Dees

Farewell Clayton Oliver
I think the MFC has given Clarry “lots of chances”. What Company anywhere would pay a million dollar plus salary for a $ 600.00 output ( & that’s probably generous) for 2 years. Do you really think we can pay that huge salary again in the hope he turns it around. I prefer to remember the great years he gave us & what he bought us & I will always wish the best for him but it’s time.

Why ?Tracc wants to leave so I guess GC has to stump up his value. If they don’t ..then it’s more Tracc who has “egg on his face.”

Farewell Judd McVee
& the club sure as hell aren’t going to give the truth about what has gone on from some players either (& nor should they). The club put multiple different offers to Judd over 18months so says to me ..he was always going to go ..
-
Farewell Judd McVee
No club is perfectly run. Plenty going on at Blues..Dons..Saints ATM & there would be issues at every club. Fact is we’ve put in place a new coach..CEO & President. We have an extremely talented young list with everyone re-signed. If Judd wasn’t interested in any of that ..then he can go but more disappointed in him than the club. I really don’t get all the vitriol you post about the club

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Trac wanted to explore his options…King wants him. Oliver was told he will have a new role but he can explore his options. McVee did the dirty on us ..I’d send him to the PSD & surely no one could argue the May decision (who will probably end up with us). Not sure where the “purge” comes from ?

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Jack Steele offers to relinquish captaincy but still told to explore his options ..def no of field issues. Rowan Marshall their No 1 ruckman is off to Geelong to become their No 1 ruckman. They are paying a BGrader in Silvagni $4 mil over 5 years …Wanganeen who’s already at the club $2 mil a season for the next 2 seasons ..I could go on. My point is ..the game is brutal …most of the supporters on here were screaming for change ..are still blaming Goody & yet when change comes …there seems to be more negativity than positivity. I’m sad about Clarry …mad at Judd..understand the May decision & disappointed in Trac (not the fact he’s going). 2026 will determine how this all plays out but get on board with the new coach & our team. I feel excited

Fantastic post ..totally agree

Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
You follow a Club …you love some players more than others ..players come & go but the Club is always there & there is no Club without supporters. I might disagree ..get disappointed but I’ll always pay my membership because quite simply the MFC is a part of my life …

I read what the MFC put out & I’m happy with the explanation. Very fair & honest. It’s not as “sexy” as what all the media outlets are reporting but I’ll take the Club’s explanation. He has had his role explained but also has the option of playing his old role somewhere else .. He is absolutely a Carlton supporter . I vividly remember pre 2024 season on an Age podcast stating he didn’t think anyone could stop Curnow & McKay. Maybe Lever & May he said but was convinced the premiership was Carlton’s for the taking, He gets stuck into Melb because it deflects from Carlton. What’s going on there at the moment is way worse than Melb (& I’m happy with what’s going on but very disappointed with Judd). DeKoning gone ..Silvagni & Curnow wants to go. He’s a grub !

You look at the Pies & really where’s their AGraders. Arguably they traded away Grundy & Treloar who were close to that. What they do have is a team that plays unwaveringly for the jumper. They’re lead by some exceptional leaders & they never give up. We have maybe got rid of some players who don’t put the club first . If you have a club that is fully committed and on the same page maybe we will be better. We def still have a lot of quality. We can judge these decisions in time & I’m going to support the coach who’s Footy IQ blew everyone off the park

Where did JVR say that. I’ve definitely read/heard a couple of times that he loved playing in the ruck 🧐

Honestly…just go back & listen to Kings interview this morning. He stated quite clearly that he had spent his first day with the coaches that are still at the club & also the list management team , talking about the list..where they saw it ..what we need etc.Does anyone honestly think he made this decision without in-depth conversations with people that know Clarry very well. He also talked about the game plan of teams now & how the inside mid is not a big thing anymore . Don’t automatically default to Goodwin. He has moved on ..we need to move on & put our trust in the new coach (until we don’t). I will miss Clarry probably because he wants to play for us but I’ll be the first one to say..none of us really knows what went down with him or what has gone on with him.

THANK YOU FROM DEMONLAND
Huge thanks for the efforts all the Demonland team put in. Hopefully next year posters will use the podcast to give opinions & glean information. I sincerely hope it doesn’t become an “agony column” as it became late in the season. We all start next year with a sense of positivity and a clean slate ..Go Dees ..& big thanks again

That’s the one thing you have wrong. They are and have been a very committed playing group. Buckley said it …how would he even know …I would say that well known past players of our actual club would know a damn site more about our club than Buckley .
-
Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Thanks for posting that . Our CEO makes it very clear that Steven King was the man they wanted & gave the reasons why. So basically we don’t need to wonder about Buckley ..the media and all “their reasons”. Our club has in their words “got their man”.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 02
Don’t miss the 57% efficiency..miss the locker influence though

Welcome to Demonland: Steven King
Why on earth would Buckley go through the whole interview process & then um & ah ? He had known about TAS for a long time ..,he wanted to coach Melb but the club followed due process & appointed King. End of story . All the click bait journalists etc can spin their own narrative ..,who cares..let’s just acknowledge & support our club & coach. I’m very happy

2025 Keith "Bluey" Truscott Trophy
The points I took from watching last night were : Goody was acknowledged by every person who spoke and in glowing terms (well deserved). Every player who spoke on stage & some in other interviews acknowledged the disappointing season but were very positive about what’s to come. Spoke glowingly of the love they have for the club & their teammates. Gawn when acknowledging the supporter group & fans said (paraphrasing) how it’s a shame they don’t see inside the four walls as they are an extremely well connected group. He also mentioned players receiving accolades for games played & said we don’t lose many players ..they want to stay. One interesting comment ..I’m not sure if it was Richo or Chappy but when talking about changes he said “Paul wanted a new coach”. Not the “board decided on a new coach”. Looked like a great night & good to see only Chandler & Spargo having some surgeries.

Hmmm …playing the oldest team …how’d that going ?

PODCAST: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
Thanks so much Andy ..Binman & George. Have always enjoyed your podcasts ..Andy your MFCSS is quite humorous ..never nasty or vitriolic & appreciate enormously the effort you all put in to produce this podcast. Binman the work you put into the stats and analysis is incredible & helps make sense of what happened in the game. You all must have been “sucked dry” by the end of your last home & away podcast as it had become a bit of a “Dear Dorothy” unload my woes questions by D’Landers. However your podcast has often been a shining light in this disappointing season. Enjoy some well earned time away & look forward to hearing you & hopefully George, now & then in the months ahead.

Players Unwritten Code
Actually he said the same word to the same player last year ..Pies went to Adelaide ..left at that. He again said the same word to the same player in their first game this year. The above occurred. In this 2nd game he again said the same word to the same player & this time the Pies informed Adelaide & the AFL. Rankin was told on the field to “pull his head in” by Thilthorpe. Not sure what it all means in the wash up but have no sympathy with Rankin. The delicious conundrum if the pies beat the crows ..Rankin could possibly play in a GF ..if they lose ..so does Rankin . BTW the above occurred..

POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
Firstly were you there?? We played a team which apart from Bobby Hill was full strength playing for their lives. I’ll stand by my belief that if Goodwin was coaching we would have won the last 3 which would have made it harder to sack him. Max was Herculean & we lost it ..they didn’t win it . A bit of inexperience ..skills at crucial times was the difference. Faaaark I hate our arrogant pathetic supporters who whinge & moan & don’t really watch our team. I leave 2025 with some belief for 2026 ..So for all those supporters who didn’t bother to turn up you missed a great game where players from both sides left nothing on the field ..so gutted with the result but proud of the boys …so g wallow in your misery !!

NON-MFC: Round 24
One club around 100,000 members & the other around 80,000…surely you jest ?
