Or everyone on demonland donates 50c to get him a membership. Wouldn't take long given how many active members we have. My old man has been a member for nearly 40 years, and I can tell you that if it came down to school fees and membership I would have gone without school books. Hocko must be a great parent to give up his first love of the MFC for his family.

Geez poor trenners looked groggy. Shattered by this hit, I had hoped he could push for selection by round 5. Very unlikely we will see him for a few more weeks now given the rules around concussion.
-
My old man was at the game and said Oscar played well. Impressive win with a few players out injured, but we must not get too excited given it was against a standalone vfl team. It's positive to see some pressure for selection from strong vfl performances.
-
I can't help but feel that this stupid act has cost the dees a shot a beating Collingwood. He is one of our top 5 players. He is irreplaceable in the best 22 right now.
-
Can't see him leaving, just can't see it happening. If he goes he goes for a Scully contact (over market value). That won't be cheap, and the dees have committed to what they have so I can't see us having an offer large enough to sway him.

Oliver looks the goods. That is all.

Hogan isn't to blame for the loss. We were murdered in the middle and rarely had enough control of the footy to deliver the ball to Hogan in a way that presented him with an advantage in the contest. We bombed it in with a 2 on 1 or to a body on body contest. The only good delivery i saw to him was a kick from watts. The whole team was crap. Not just Hogan.

The only thing we should ever be favourites for is finishing bottom 4...
-
Dunn can read the play. Tmac and Garland seemed to struggle with what was an obvious ploy to sit the ball up for Danniher. You will struggle to spoil a 201cm player with spring. Putting body in him, working him away from the ball would have helped reduce his impact on the game.

I'm furious. My level of rage was so high I needed to sleep on it before posting on demonland and having the mods ban me for life. The tripe served up yesterday was inexcusable. There should be 4 changes made if the club is serious about competing. Heads must roll. North Melbourne will win by over 12 goals if we play like that next week.

Great to hear trenners had a great game. Hopefully he can have 2 more like it and push for selection in round 5

N.Jones - Not his best Vince - busy, not damaging Hogan - superstar status fading Salem - unsure of role Watts - didn't produce enough Viney - hard but alone Lumumba - run, bomb, turnover Brayshaw - was not ready Gawn - dominated hit outs Tyson - can't hit targets Oliver - lost in moment Kent - Outlook looking bleak Garland - did F all Pedersen - a vfl footballer McDonald - hammered in rear Bugg - a limited footballer Kennedy - becoming very important Garlett - good in patches vandenBerg - no enforcer today Jetta - was uncharacteristically beaten Harmes - dury still out M.Jones - played role, beaten,

Agreed. It really annoyed me. Roos seems like he has lost touch with the situation at hand. As for leadership, we traded for experienced players lacking leadership. Lumumba, Dawes, Vince and Garlett are the boom recruits from other clubs. All have significant AFL experience yet to not exhibit leadership qualities required to move this young list forward. Not a knock on their footy ability, Vince and Jeffy are 2 of our best. They just don't have the leadership qualities we are begging for.

I can't change clubs, because I despise them all. I'm stuck with the Dees like some kind of misfortune STD. I would love someone to get rid of my love for the club but it is with me for life whether I want it or not. Farewell Ascobar, I envy you being able to walk away. I simply can't do it even though I want to.

Viney is tough, and I think he won't be alone with brayshaw and Oliver joining him in a few seasons. We are going to have a hardnosed midfield!
-
If we lose this I will crawl into a bottle of scotch and watch the Grand old flag DVD on repeat (because that DVD covers the good times!)
-
Hogan will draw a double team most of the day making me think it will be a good day for crumbers. I think Jeffy has a ripper and kicks 4. Not sure about hogan. 2-5 sounds realistic.

MATCH PREVIEW & TEAM SELECTION - ROUND 2, 2016
Adzman replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Everyone is expecting the dees to roll them. Can't remember shorter odds for the dees to win in recent memory. -
Frost has that Swiss army knife quality that coaches love. I don't know where to play him, and I'm not confident in his ability to nail a key role in the side just yet. He is worth rolling with for another 3-4 weeks to see if he finds his niche. If he doesn't Dawes probably locks down that forward role when back from his calf injury.
-
Trading has been better in recent years. I still think the 2012 Dawes deal didn't pan out (pick 20&45 for Dawes and pick 58) not to mention he got 500k per season and has struggled to get on the paddock. Maybe if fit this would have worked out for us. Bernie vince has been a game changer!! Money well spent!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY
Adzman replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was probably a bit negative about his acquisition given we sent Howe and Toumpas out. I rated Howe given his value for young supporters. Perhaps I was wrong about Kennedy. Maybe Kennedy is just the right fit for us. I'm happy to be proven wrong. -
Hopefully a win against the dons will see us move up the ladder. North Melbourne will be an interesting test for us.

Clayton Oliver - Round 1 Rising Star Nomination
Adzman replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think the "draft bolter" has started to justify his selection. Well done young man! Looking forward to seeing more of him. -
Honestly he is one of our most important players now. Glad to hear he will be out there Vs the bombers.
-
Agree we with many that the best way to protest is to smash them. Get loud and support our boys, give them a lift for an "away" game. Essendon will be gifted the #1 pick in the draft and a wooden spoon, then all of this will be forgotten like incidents in the past (ie Justin Charles). Hope the dees Pump them by 10 goals!!
