If Carlton rumours are true they would be less likely to part with a useful pick given their desire to rebuild via the draft. 4th or 5th round is all they would pay.

He could be the catalyst for Freo capturing their first flag, or for rotting the club from the inside out. Interesting times at Freo if the deal gets done.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOMAS BUGG
Adzman replied to whatwhat say what's topic in Melbourne Demons
Gws would probably command a second rounder for him, which has already been rumoured to go to every other club as part of every other rumoured deal. If Howe heads out without a swap of picks, and Toumpas for Melksham happens, a second rounder for Bugg is likely. -
Stevie J didn't make the cut?

Would trade pick 6 for prestia in a new York minute! Forget any kids in this draft because they haven't proven a thing at AFL level. Prestia is a gun!

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Adzman replied to Theo's topic in Melbourne Demons
My father in law is a mad Essendon man, and as a result I have had to sit through many essendon games on TV. I simply don't understand why we are going to fork out $$$ for Melksham. He isn't the player we are looking for, and a second rounder or Toumpas to then bring in melksham at 400k for 4 years isn't making us any better. Maddening! -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - SAM WEIDEMAN
Adzman replied to xman97's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pick 6 is a mid if we keep it. Wouldn't be surprised if we traded out of the first and second round if the right deal comes up. Weideman will be solid, but I can't see him going as early as pick 6 if we held on to that pick. -
The rookie list is there for a reason. Picking up a potential late bloomer with a rookie pick is low risk high reward. Wouldn't be at all disappointed if he was given another chance on our rookie list.

Currency for Dawes is low, so if he is on the move expect to be short changed. We are limited for forward options especially with Howe likely to move. I don't see any great value in trading Dawes unless it is a piece of a bigger deal.

Have to agree. I liked what I saw when I watched casey this year. He could very well take the next step and force his way into the side.

Is the afl competition any more even since the draft & salary cap??
Adzman replied to Demonsone's topic in Melbourne Demons
My point is that we won't have a fair system until compo picks have been abolished. Without compo picks the Hawks would have been given nothing for Buddy , which is fair given the talent raid they have had since fa started, and we would have retained frawley instead of being gifted a supreme talent like brayshaw. I'm not complaining about getting brayshaw, but if we are serious about a fair and equitable competition then free agency compo picks must go. -
Probably the biggest beneficiary of Jamar's departure. Is the only full time ruck option behind Gawn, and at present we don't have much else. Probably a make or break year in 2016. If he fails to play more than 5 games he is going to struggle to play on. Needs to stay healthy and show if he has got the goods.

Teams are allowing players to leave or not matching restricted free agent offers so they can get top end talent at the draft. Top end talent needs to go to bottom teams. I think you will find that if teams don't have compo picks that they will spend more time and money retaining required players instead of diluting the first 2 rounds of the draft. -

Hard to analyse, because the game has changed so much over that time making list development and turnover so much harder to predict. Hawthorn were the beneficiaries of free agency being new when they started their rise. Geelong also avoided a rebuild due to free agency. Things should level out soon. The cap has worked, free agency compo needs to be eliminated for things to be more even. -
Nev is one player that never lets us down. He doesn't always win each battle but he always tries and I admire him for his effort and consistency. Reminds me of Whelan, you know what you are going to get and that is someone giving their all every week.

He was a revelation up forward. He might become a fan favourite if he can keep replicating this years performance each year. Just imagine what he could do with more inside 50 entries!
-
Didn't look lost, and he showed some poise. Like his brother, he might be handy for us.
-
Maybe we should be putting the current doggies squad here, because they are the players I would be backing for the flag in 3 years.....
-
Woosha wouldn't have burnt his bridge at the Crows if he didn't have a handshake agreement at essendon. Besides, only a masochistic would want to take the helm at essendon. Think Melbourne neeld era. Whoever takes the gig is in for some serious pain.

Harmes and Vanders to be upgraded. We add two rookies at the rookie draft then wait on white and King to see if they can cut it after next season.
-
Grimes was far from our worst this season. Worked hard and did some ok things. Would like him to stay and hopefully crack 100 games for the dees. Would be nice for him to get life membership at the club after being a demon supporter his whole life.

2015 Player Review - # 37 Aaron vandenBerg (R)
Adzman replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
An AFL pre season will do him a world of good. He will take forward steps again and lock down a best 22 spot next season. -
Delistings/trades at end of the season

He would smash it as a docker. With pav and macpharlane retiring they have the cap space. Sending their first round pick and a fringe player back won't hurt them. I can see this happening. -
Very long shot to make it. Wouldn't think he is going to get a look in.

Played 3 games at AFL level after 6 years in the system. Project player but he is a while off being a #1 ruck forward player. Would be interesting to see what he would cost, but it looks as though he is bound for brisvegas (his dad and grandfather both played for Fitzroy so it's not surprising to see him head to the lions)
