They have been good for a long time, and will be good this year. It isn't the middle of the ground that will hurt them, but overall depth. They have done well via academy picks, but haven't built quality depth on their list. They are one of those teams who will struggle to backfill injured players, and injuries are part of the game, I have them 5th based on their questionable depth.

Does chromecast still work for android? If not I'm heading off to the pub every weekend. Goodbye liver Goodbye marriage Hello demons.....

Something like 1 - 4: GWS, Adelaide, Bulldogs, Geelong 5 - 8: Sydney, West Coast, Melbourne, Hawthorn 9 - 12: St Kilda, Port Adelaide, Fremantle, Collingwood 13 - 18 Essendon, Gold Coast, Richmond, Carlton, North Melbourne, Brisbane This is the year that the Hawks and Swans start to show signs of sliding out of the 8. I don't think either side goes top 4 this season. North are going to be disgusting this season, and have the biggest fall from grace.

Glad to hear it was a dislocation and not a break. Wagner will be handy when fit this season, especially if form dips from any of the back 6.

Triplicate premiers? I would be happy if the seniors get just get it done before I turn 40!!!

Fact is he returned to preseason out of shape (overweight), and had an off field misdemeanour do being over the limit (P plater so nothing too sinister) His commitment only comes into question with those two things. From all other reports he is working hard, and obviously wants to play footy.

I'm more worried about my wife crowding the players Biffin! My 6 pack hasn't been seen since 2001!

If Oliver doesn't get his commitment to the top level right he won't get near the midfield rotation. Gone are the days were a player can smash tinnies and dimmies and get a game. Really hoping he figures that out soon. Brayshaw has good footy smarts. He will find his was into the team.

HOW PAGAN SLIPPED THROUGH DEES' FINGERS
Adzman replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree. The ox was a world beater before those knee injuries. And Jakovich could have been one of the all time greats if his body and mind were not shot. We had the talent, just didn't happen for us. Those teams in the 90s were good enough for a flag. -
Most of their top 10 players are over 30 or approaching it. They will take a step back in the next year or two before stepping forward.
-
As Ted Dibiase used to say "every man has his price" The NBA just announced advertising on jerseys for next year which was thought to never happen. Sooner or later AFL clubs will be bought. Hopefully we can still keep our name and colours when it does happen. Just hoping that Tampax don't buy us ... The Tampax demons doesn't have a good ring to it.

GWS will become a destination club for players wanting a flag. Last time I checked Kelly hadn't won a flag...he isn't heading anywhere anytime soon. Usual off season bull dust journalism

SEN 2017 AFL PREVIEW: MELBOURNE’S BEST 22
Adzman replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Melksham isn't best 22 yet. You don't sign a contract, sit out a year then walk into a team's best 22. He isn't Chuck Norris. -
Fantastic sponsor. I now wear them as my go to shoe!

Great present, and a great year to get it. I got to a skybox once in my life. Sadly is was round 5 2013 and we got done by the gold coast suns....still it is good for food and drinks so enjoy!!
-
He is going to cost us a small fortune when his contact is up in 2018. He might be one of the best young prospects in the competition. The kid is grease lighting.
-
We have Max Gawn in the Ruck. Therefore we have the best midfield. That is all.

I was born in 83 so my memory of some of the greats are limited. Some controversy with my lineup. Woewodin played 138 games for us, and 100 of those were sublime. Ingerson still is to this day one of the best backman I have ever seen. If he didn't do his knee he would have played more than 5 seasons and gone down as one of the all time greats at the club. B: Graham Yeats Sean Wight Steven Febey HB: Brett Lovett Anthony Ingerson Rod Grinter C: Nathan Jones James McDonald Shane Woewodin HF: Russell Robertson David Schwartz Garry Lyon F: Allen Jakovich David Neitz Jeff Farmer R: Jim Stynes Todd Viney Aaron Davey IN: Travis Johnstone Brad Green Adem Yze Jeff White Emer: Stephen Tingay, Matthew Febey, Steven Stretch, Cameron Bruce,

HS Bicks weighs your AFL team’s chances with his 2017 preview
Adzman replied to JAG007's topic in Melbourne Demons
We will finish higher than St Kilda in 2017. Their old brigade has kept them competitive, but like all great warriors age will catch up with them and 2017 could be a fall from grace for the saints vets. I'm confident we will take 8th spot. -
Good luck to him. His departure makes zero difference to out best 22, nay our best 25! Let's move on from this and promise to never trade with collingwood ever again.

I don't care about what Col did or didn't achieve on the football field, reality was he was great to fans and a ripping bloke. Truth was he had the talent to be a 250 game player with multiple All Australians, but we will just have to settle for a fun bloke who loved a few jars an a chat with fans. I wish him the best with his life after footy.

This whole situation is a farce. If my workplace contract was as flimsy as an AFL contract I would have retired years ago.
-
I would love us to extend contracts with our own young talent before talking to someone else's young talent. We have some good players coming through. would hate to see an Oliver type leave due to cap constraints from signing a big f/a this year.

Not a regular viewer, but in the off chance I watched it brayshaw seemed ok. Hutchy on the other hand is horrendous. will be the final nail in the coffin of a dying show.

Melbourne midfield ranked worst in AFL by Champion Data
Adzman replied to SaberFang's topic in Melbourne Demons
If I had designed the algorithm for this ranking system I probably would have tweaked it before letting it go public. The only thing this algorithm tells me is that it is a load of horse manure. We have a top 8 team on our hands which includes a top 8 midfield which is on the rise.
