They have done well via academy picks, but haven't built quality depth on their list. They are one of those teams who will struggle to backfill injured players, and injuries are part of the game, I have them 5th based on their questionable depth.

Most of their top 10 players are over 30 or approaching it. They will take a step back in the next year or two before stepping forward.

We will finish higher than St Kilda in 2017. Their old brigade has kept them competitive, but like all great warriors age will catch up with them and 2017 could be a fall from grace for the saints vets. I'm confident we will take 8th spot.

If I had designed the algorithm for this ranking system I probably would have tweaked it before letting it go public. The only thing this algorithm tells me is that it is a load of horse manure. We have a top 8 team on our hands which includes a top 8 midfield which is on the rise.
