I keep hearing how great the saints are for "fast tracking" a rebuild. If I look at their top 10 best and fairest results, and Roo, montagna, armitage, geary and dempster all made the top 10. Armitage and Geary are already 28 years old and won't carry the torch for long when dempster, roo, montagna and Gilbert call it quits over the next 24 months. I would much rather have our list that has a much even spread of age and talent. Saints better hope their kids turn out to be guns, if they don't they are in strife.

Would be a good idea to get Hamish down to Casey. Plapp is doing good things and as seen by this year's draft, a successful vfl team will get enough notice warrant players getting drafted.

Imagine being mentored by PJ! the man is a business stud!! I would love to spend a year by his side learning how he does things. Just an amazingly successful guy.

If he was good enough he would be playing in our best 22 this year and he would be inline for an extension even if the clause wasn't triggered. We wouldn't let a best 22 player walk due to a contract stipulation. Reality is he isn't best 22 and knows he can't earn a 4th year now that the trigger is off the table. He signed the deal thinking he wouldn't decline so quickly and we wouldn't improve as a team do quickly. Gamble didn't pay off for him.

I thought he was going to be a gun when he got drafted. Didn't do much at the crows, and couldn't hold on to his spot at the dons. I think he is a great vfl footballer, and might find his was onto a rookie list. I just don't think he offers us anything we don't already have.

Rivo was a smart player. His fast development as a coach is not surprising,. Good luck to him!

My father in law is an Essendon man, so naturally when we talk footy it's all about essendon. He said he was a good tackler and handy defensive forward but lacked the tools required to be a small forward in the AFL. his vfl season was poor, when competition for spots in the senior side were at an all time low.

Bernie needs to get those clangers under control. Too good a player and decision maker to be listed in the top 10.

People forget just how much he contributed for a first year player. There is a role in the team for him if he fit and willing.

The Wiz is one of my all time favourites growing up. To think my boy could grow up watching his boy in red and blue is special.

Was just delisted by Essendon. Didn't see much of him in the VFL. Since being drafted all I can remember about him was that he was arrested for drunken death threats against an uber driver. Anyone seen his development over the past 12 months?

Hawks have to rebalance their list. They need to get in as much young talent as possible. No point holding onto depth type players now that their premiership window is closing/closed.

Wagner is a proven player, and being on the senior list allows him to be available for selection round one. I doubt whoever we pick at the back end if the draft will be pushing for selection like Wagner would in the early parts of the season. It then frees up a rookie spot for a development player. I wouldn't be against burning the two live selections (Wagner will be upgraded as 3Rd selection) on ruckman/forward types. Spencer and Pedo aren't long term options if we are going to win flags. Darcy Cameron sounds like a worthy punt.

Maybe there is a jet who fails to get drafted. Would prefer to use the rookie spot on an unknown with a higher ceiling. Green is ok, but it doesn't look like someone who is going to improve out of sight.

He lacks the hunger required to make it at the top level. He is talented but just looks laconic when he is out on the paddock. Rookie list should be for taking a punt. Sadly you know what you are getting with Everitt and it isn't enough.

If Roos does end up at Collingwood his contract will make Lance Franklin's contract look like minimum wage!!

Awesome......Given we have Hibberd and Melksham, and they have another 10 found guilty of doping, we could play off round one every year for the "pee in a cup" Cup........... F I hate Essendon. Nearly as much as Hawthorn!
