  1. The other reason it would be fantastic for Ten to get the rights is their coverage isn't a dogs breakfast like Seven's, and they simulcast in HD on One. Well, they did, until Lachlan Murdoch came in and destroyed the joint to protect his interests at Foxtel.
  2. This thread desperately needs some GNF..
  3. Might just be a case of... he's probably in good enough shape to play, but the club want to be overly cautious and hold him until next year. Thus, the only way he debuts is at Jesse's request, not the club's. Roos said as much in his presser today. Fair enough, too. If getting on the park overcomes an important mental barrier for the kid after two years, I'd say he should go for it. If it's not a big deal to him, it's safer to wait for pre-season and hit the ground running in 2015.
  4. Richmond love taking in other club's rejects for good picks! They traded their second rounder for Shaun Hampson..! (While we got Bernie Vince How's about we trade Nicho for their first and second round picks?
  5. The three main rumors are Shiel (targeted last year but GWS weren't prepared to trade), Cameron (although Roos claims he is "unaware" of any such talks) and Malceski (Roos says we have not contacted his management in the last 8 weeks, read into that what you like). We might try Rockliff again as we were apparently incredibly close last year (would've been a done deal if Voss wasn't sacked), and could pick up O'Keefe for a year if Swans delist him, unless he retires at EOS. No doubt there'll be another 3 or 4 "who?" pickups like Michie and Riley.
  6. GWS are getting enough rubbish concessions for the next 5 years thanks to the AFL. About as deserving of a PP as the Swans.
  7. Dylan Shiel & Jeremy Cameron, solves both problems. :D Pointless having amazing key forwards though if the midfield isn't giving them solid delivery. Just look at how miserable West Coast are this year, their midfield is just awful and brings the whole team structure down despite their talls all over the park.
  8. Would definitely rather trade in a gun midfielder using a compo pick from Frawley, than keep Frawley. Defensively we're holding up just fine without him, and Hogan will be replacing him as a forward, so the team can comfortably go forward without him. We still need to bolster our midfield stocks, I've got no doubt that's Roosy's target for this trade period.
  9. This. The award is farcical and not worth a cent more than the millions NAB are paying the AFL to justify its existence. GWS received 8 nominations, yes, EIGHT, in their first year... a year in which they won a spectacular 2 games. The entire charade has become little more than another narcissistic excuse for the AFL to [censored] each other under the boardroom table and illude relevance to their own bastard creations.
  10. The Tom Hawkins mentoring is interesting. I wonder if Roosy or PJ set that up? Maybe it was the Tomohawk off his own back? Either way, those chaps at Geelong seem genuinely empathetic of our plight (see Selwood's chat to Viney after they belted us). Great culture at that club.
  11. She won bronze! Fantastic effort from Jess!
  12. Well the "goal" that Gibbo blatantly touched was a joke, so only fair the Hawks got an equally rubbish goal in return, care of the umps putting the whistle away.
  13. I used to thoroughly enjoy 360 every night until the pathetic Essendon sympathizing became a disturbing ongoing trend from Robbo, and I realized the vested interests of the entire Fox network became more important to them than the prevailing of justice for a team of systematic drug cheats. Amazing how every media outlet in the country thrived like leeches in a blood bank during the Armstrong case, happy to sink the boot in and make his life a misery. Different story when their precious 9 games a week broadcast rights are at stake. Needless to say I haven't watched the show in months, apart from the Roos interviews on Mondays.
  14. If he isn't already, I see this kid developing into real cult favorite for us. He'll be frightening after a few more preseasons.
  15. Sydney don't want anything earlier than a late first round pick because they'll be burning it on their guaranteed Academy selection, a player which (if not for the draft concessions given to Sydney) would otherwise go around pick 5. They're getting away with murder on that one, not dissimilar to if we manage to land Stretch with a third rounder.
  16. I just don't understand Sydney's salary cap at all. They've got a guy not even getting games on 400k?? Staggering.
  17. If they're refusing to even hear us out, it probably only means one thing. Frawley and his management are going to assess every offer from other clubs and Frawley will decide on his preferred option. They'll then take that to the MFC and tell them to add probably $100k and an extra year on top of that as incentive for him to stay. Can't imagine any other reason they'd be refusing to even listen to what we have to offer, unless he knows he's getting more elsewhere (entirely likely, because we won't pay overs when the compensation is this good.)
  18. Fairly disrespectful from Port as well. Not prepared to play him unless they're expecting an easy kill.
  19. Would be fantastic if this became "that" round of the year where all the lowly clubs find a way to win against all odds. It does happen.
  20. Based on the first quarter today, Saints aren't tanking. Still miles ahead in percentage even if they win today though.
  21. Would love to see 1 week next to Hogan after the bye.
  22. What's the bet Purps read this and claimed it as his scoop?
  23. According to Purple he wants a 7 year contract. That's the mandate being shopped around by his manager to interested suitors, supposedly at Frawley's request. LOL. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Chip!
  24. I'd be surprised if we made 4 changes, but we've been lethargic and tired for 2 rounds now. Makes sense to mix things up and freshen the team. Will be interesting to see how we perform after the bye when Crossy is about ready to play again and we've had time to recover from Darwin.
  25. Agreed. Any Melbourne supporter can tell from his body language on field and off. He's either mentally checked out (think the round 2 loss was the kicker) or the contact delays are having a discernibly negative effect on his performance. He's fully entitled to withhold his intentions from the club, but I don't think he's doing himself or this team any favors right now.
