  1. Was reading about the Saints and Tigers fighting for the wooden spoon in The Age and it seems odd that the Tigers, a team "on the rise" should now be being speculated to win the spoon... Likewise the Saints, who played finals just 2 1/2 seasons ago (2011). But then I remembered the Herald Sun article noting that the first two likely draft picks will land big Key Position Forwards (McCartin, Wright). So I put two and two together and got Tank. As the only club to have ever been called for tanking, are these clubs doing enough to avoid joining our ignoble ranks?
  2. I know this isn't Melbourne Demons related specifically but I found this fascinating. I usually find Iron Mike an absolute muppet but this was very well done. I wonder if they will ever do a doco. on the events from 2009 until the end of 2013 at the MFC? I think that would be a brilliant documentary. It just does go to show that culture does matter. And it's not just the culture among the players. How a club functions and what it's expectations and values are from top to bottom are important.
  3. How great will it be to see Richmond move up to 10th next weekend? Not as great as seeing them move ahead of Carlton AND Essendon at the same time. I'm indifferent regarding the Saints but it will be great to see many of my 'most hated' teams lingering just below the dark line. At least there's something to smile about at the end of the season.
