I could have done a lot worse than to have barracked for Melbourne all my life. Like most of you I think " When are we ever going to win another premiership?" Then, to cheer myself up, I have listed premierships won in MY LIFETIME and the Dees haven't done too badly. Here they are: CARLTON 11, ESSENDON 10, MELBOURNE 10, HAWTHORN 9, RICHMOND 6, GEELONG 4, NORTH MELB. 4, COLLINGWOOD 3, WEST COAST 3, BRISBANE(FITZROY) 3, ADELAIDE 2, PORT ADELAIDE 1, WESTERN BULLDOGS 1, ST KILDA 1,SOUTH MELBOURNE (SYDNEY) 1, FREMANTLE 0. As you can see only Carlton have done better than the mighty demons. Doesn't it do your heart good too to see Collingwood featuring so low on the list. I made the right choice don't you reckon?

Well I was born in 77 so I have seen 0, wait lets re cap that 0 flags.

Don't put the cue in the rack yet Bobby, while there's life there's hope.

Well, I was born in December 1961 so I was 2 when we won in 1964.

Naturally, I was there at the MCG, booing Gabbo, cheering Froggy, ecstatic at the final siren and generally having a great old time brawling with toothless Collingwood toddlers.

Just like I was there with those other three billion people who said they were at Woodstock, ten million people who said they were at Sunbury and one hundred thousand people who said they saw the Stones play an unadvertised gig at the Corner sometime in the early nineties. Or was it the late eighties?

Definition of inflation: attendances at famous rock concerts.

And there was a time when you didn't even barrack for the Dees, eh Tails ? ;)

I was 6 month old.

Legend has it [child prodigy that I was] that on that day I formed not only my first word but fully structured sentance...

"have a shot Froggy".

And to think to this day most fully grown AFL spectators have not evolved beyond "baaaaaallllll"

Went to the 60 and 64 GF's but it's been a bit light on since then. Never regretted supporting the Dees and will go on until I either can't remember who they are or I become a memory myself. The Collingwood supporters that always have a crack at us have only won one Flag since 1958 so that's come comfort.

I would like my kids to see a premiership but sadly that appears as far away as it's ever been, maybe only a draft and a couple of good trades away, who knows?

It was Mick Jagger without the stones. Must have been around 1996. My brother got tickets from a (mutual) mate at Sony. They told me about it later... said I really missed it.

He played all the old hits. bastards.

You sure could have done a lot worse Bobby!! I was a babe of '48, the year we beat the Bombers in the GF replay. While I can't truthfully claim to remember that day, I can certainly remember many of the 'highs' of our glory years in the late 50's and early 60's. Unfortunately I also remember bawling my eyes out on the last Saturday in September '58, which is probably why I totally endorse your sentiments about C'wood.

There have been generations of disappointments since '64, but I'm proud of the fact that I've hung in there, as passionate as ever, in the hope and true belief that another flag is just around the corner.

Seems like you and I are kindred spirits in our support of our beloved Demons. Goodonya!!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
